28mm Scale Painted Tengu Models: "First Contact" or Little Grey Men

...............maybe one is called Paul and let the probing begin.

These come from Tengu Models http://www.tengumodels.co.uk/index.htm and come in a pack of 5 but when I bought them they came with one figure in a spacesuit which I didn't like so I didn't paint him, these are a difficult paint even though there are only 3 colours used in the paonting because there is so little surface detail on the model but they turned out alright. Might be used for an Area 51 escape game based loosely on the movie "Paul" or as evil mind controlling overlords ready to take over the planet (sorry got carried away).

Size and comparison pictures as usual.

L to R, 28mm Copplestone Castings and 28mm Hasslefree Miniatures.

These pictures are for a fellow blogger Obviously Zed who asked for a miniature to be compared with other miniatures and as we are a blogging community I am more than happy to help, he has a great blog and does a great ongoing zombie batrep series, have a look here at his latest batrep  http://obviouslyzed.blogspot.com/

  3. I like these models. Smooth surfaces can be notoriously hard to paint but I think you did pretty well.

  5. Grey aliens are hot stuff right now. WtNW has them as a faction in 15mm. Big Lee's right - you've painted these well.

  6. Eek, these grey aliens are evil! I really like them.

Thank you very much for doing the Pig Iron / Heresy comparison shot. PI may be a tad smaller, but I think they go together pretty good. I am almost out of excuses for not buying the Trenchies and other Heresy minis.

  8. Despite your very limited palette they do look good.

And I totally agree with your comment about us being a community. You're a man after my own heart, Fran!

  17. I like the last pic of the aliens. It looks like the one is telling Mr Big to put down his cigar and start crawling on the ground or he'll use the probe. Ouch!

  18. @Ray Rousell: Thanks for that...... mate?
@Bart: Must need asbestos underwear in case of a spark caused by friction.

  23. Did they come with anal probes? That is a multi faceted question and I can think of at least two answers.
Nice little aliens mate...they remind me of the ones from galaxy quest..."it looks like a baby" "what shall we do with it?" Hit it with a rock and then eat it!!"
    Cheers

  27. Those aliens would look great (with their red eyes) poking around a hallway or door entrance.

Hell, even at that size they still freak me out.

  30. I wonder what kind of photo editing system was used to enhance these pictures because they are freaking awesome. I can see every miniscule detail like it's right in front of me!

  31. These are great figures, and would be ideal for any sci-fi based game. Let's face it these style aliens can be found anywhere from X-Files to Stargate SG1. Think I may have to do some shopping...

  32. you must have the patience of a saint...cool work

  33. You have a predator miniature! That is so great, it just blew my brain out the back of my skull. Thanks for that.

  34. I seriously think you could create and fill an entire other blog simply based on the battlefield possibilities you have with your collection. Maybe have people vote for the victor, or have some kind of other way to determine the winner. But it would be funny to see extraterrestrial grays duking it out with Napoleonic era cavalrymen...

  35. Those look awesome.
You have some of the coolest miniatures ever.

  36. There are many reports of ghosts at places like Gettysburg where 43,000 Americans died over a few days--if the gray aliens were to duke it out with Napoleonic cavalry, or War Between the States infantry, perhaps it would be in a fourth or fifth dimensional form using ethereal bodies and different than normal mortal powers. For all we now it may actually be going on already, but outside our view and reach.
