Operation Sealion What If?: Painted 20mm WW2 Sgts' Mess Refugees.

Finally have photographic proof of miniatures painted for my What If? WW2 Operation Sealion game, these are refugees to clog the roads (I am painting more), to be rescued or protected. I like figures like these, they are not neccesary to the game but I like scenery and extras like this and they add to a game.

The miniatures can be found here http://sgts-mess.com/uksgtsmesshome.html under Refugees, have added some size and comparison pictures if they're of any help.

  1. The man with the crutch looks like he's pretty much having the worst week ever. I can see how background and scenery can add to the depth, especially having a population.

  16. Now if you just had 2 young men, one of them sickly and carrying a dagger with a ruby in the hilt...

  17. Love the details on the refugees.

Being a snarky smartass, I would add The Fugees as an inside joke, and maybe an actual sealion...

  23. How are refugees not useful? Once rescued, apply a little salt, and all your world war woes and hunger disappear!
Sorry I missed you 100,000 hit; congrats!

  24. Wow, I'm not that familiar with the 20mm size, but that is likely because I rarely engage in historical gaming. I wonder how much premade terrain fits this scale.

  25. Looks like they're about to face something hairy, and they probably need more than the old man's cane to get the job done.

  27. The idea of going out of your way to paint refugess for a game/scenario is superb. Good stuff, looking forward to seeing more.

  28. I think these kind of minis (civilians/innocent bystanders) are great. The really add a lot to a game, I think, in terms of realism and visual appeal.

  30. Hey Lurker. Popped in to say howdy. Cold here today, even the heat kicked on. Just got done mowing the lawn, soon to serve supper to Tim and Dwayne. They are playing the 360. Come on over for the fun.

  31. Is it weird that I feel bad for a miniature with only one leg? I also think those are a very neat addition to the game, even if they're not crucial. Details like that make me happy.

  36. No women? You can't have battlefield refugees without women and children.
