20mm Painted WW2 British Pillbox's.

Don't know where yesterday went, I can only think over medicating!!!

These little 20mm pillbox's (maybe some form of Type 24) are from Frontline Wargaming for the Operation Sealion project for holding up the enemy advance, seen mainly on the south coast of England.
20mm home guard figures from SGTS Mess for scale and size purposes.

  1. Nice little bunkers for the men. I have to say though that given the choice between a flimsy English brick pillbox or a German Concrete and reinforced steel bunker I'd choose the latter...

  2. i like them but i would prefer a darker color like gray. is this the original color of the english pillboxes (normal brick color)?

  3. Cool. I imagine one of those boxes might get pretty stale on the inside after a few days. Air freshners a must. ;)

  4. Those look very claustrophic with a figure placed inside.

  5. Nice pillboxes Fran. I think I would rather be in the German type construction ones too.

  6. Very nice. There used to be a pillbox overlooking the canal where i live and it was always spooky.

Personally when bullets are flying everywhere i'd prefer either :o)

  7. I thought when you opened the lid, that maybe a little zombie would be in there. But then, I've got zombies on the brain today. Probably because Miss Wiggy had us up at 1AM with the storm.

She's such a scared little pup.

Headed to prep cook today. Love that. Then tomorrow is my last day at the fabric shop. Don't love that.

Hope you're all better and that you have a groovy day.

PS: Honey rocks on fish. I swear. Really.

  10. I've seen those things constructed from concrete as well as a variety ob brick types. I bet they'll be good in a game, but I wouldn't fancy having to defend one. :O(

  13. Those are great pillboxes. I only just learned that brick was sometimes used due to material shortages. Very cool choice for your game.

  18. Those look very nice. Are they meant to be built into a hill side? With that flat back I could see modeling them into a little styro hill.

  21. Fran, these look very good. Are you going to leave them as is or mount them to a terrain board to protect them?

  23. Everything I've ever seen on here I can classify as cool, but these (mainly because of the word pillbox) I classify as cute (and cool, of course).

  26. Very nice, until your figures try to assault them, see how happy you are then (LOL).

  31. My biggest problem with this is that the supposed doors are too small for a figure to go through.

  32. Poor little dood all alone in his pill box.

  33. Lovely job, even Clive Dunn in there looks pleased with it.

  34. Honey on fish, chicken and on barbecue is great, keeps flesh soft. Also crisps nicely.

AL, if you consumed the pills from those boxes then I am not surprised you feel over medicated, as long as they weren't suppositories..

    Regards
