20mm Painted WW2 German Pz-38T Light Tank Platoon..

Finally starting to show progress with the What If Operation Sealion project, these are the Pz-38T light tank platoon (hand painted crosses, my eyesight is fecked, if it doesn't improve I may have to go 54mm with any other project), this week on the blog will see a couple of painted invasion barges and a Panzer IV platoon. The recognition flag is to signify the command tank and was a common thing I believe, they have been painted sort of clean with no baggage or clutter on them, the flag is what is it is (used well before the Germans did) and if there is a problem Wikipedia has an explanation here

  1. Very nice. The aerial recognition flag was definitely used, remembering that during the blitzkrieg era the Luftwaffe routinely held the skies

  3. Nice platoon of 38t's. Flag for Aerial recognition was used a lot during the early years of the war, when the Germans had control of the sky. It features frequently in pictures of the Invasion of Poland and Russia. By the time of Overlord the emphasis was on hiding the tanks from the air so flags were seldom used.

  4. Excellent unit, well done. I like the old '38t a lot, hope to model one in the future myself.

  5. That's a very nicely painted unit of tanks. Perhaps using decals might be a better alternative to painting crosses.

  6. Neat, and the crosses on the real thing weren't always perfect either.

Perhaps spectacles will keep thing in scale? :-)

  17. I love the details on these, but the swastika flag looks kind of out of place

  18. They look great... but are they impervious to missile attacks?

  19. Wouldn't it be bad to have your command vehicle 'tagged'? Would that not make you more of a target?

Do you paint the bottoms of these things? Just curious.

  21. You're one of the few I've seen actually use the recognition flag. It means you're doing a better, truer job than most.

  24. OK, already got specs? Me too - btw, decals freak me out too; been known to attach them to my ear wondering where the hell they got to.
Plan C = get an eraser old school type, carve/cut a cross on it, glue to head of nail, use as if a stamp pad type thing, white and black ink perfectly OK but work up to the technique first.
Plan D is get a rubberstamp maker or homecrafty person to do it for you.
    In scale of course, duh...
Plan E, get someone else to do it.

Only if it really troubles you, of course.
    Regards

  27. Sadly, Aniston doesn't show off her bare goods in Horrible Bosses. She does walk around in lingerie and strip down to only her labcoat. Its the hottest role she's ever done.

  28. Good job on these 38s. Who is the manufacturer? Are you going to use the tanks for 1940 or 1941 FOW with their new Blitzkrieg rules or do you use another rule set for WWII? I haven't selected a set of rules yet, so inquiring minds want to know.

  29. Nicely done and the crosses look fine!!
The 38t was my very favourite early war german tank! - I wonder if they were paid for by Czech???
