Franonia Map Finished and everything named..........

....sort of!

Now all the regions, towns, cities, mines, islands, forts etc...have been named after friends, bloggers, rejects etc...it wasn't easy as some bloggers don't use their real name or the blog name is quite unique (Ancient Warriors for example but I got him!), now I may not have got everybody due to forgetfulness, running out of stuff to name, Ray whining and bitching (his spelling is atrocious as I've found out) etc.....

Some of them are suggestions, some we (Ray helped) made up names for and and the 6 regions naming took the longest, some areas cover more than one blogger as some people have the same real name ....

Now if you have been forgotten I do have some airfields and rivers left that I forgot to do, so you could get one of these depending on your level of whining or bribery!

  6. Arlequin Bay... awesome! I trust it is the premier surf spot for the region too! I like it, nice one!

  7. With all the names it does look like a spledid map. I hope you have had as much fun naming things as you have provided to other bloggers.

    2. Milton is not a place to walk after dark when Broadside Garrison are in town! Lock up your donkeys!

  8. Whine, Whinge, Whine! :P That looks fantastic though, is there a degree of Game of Thrones influence in some of those names?

  11. Now clearly I wasn't paying enough attention when this was first published or couldn't decide what geographic feature I was most suited to, but nothing would give me greater pleasure than to be represented on this fabulous piece of cartography! With regards to bribery, perhaps there is a little something that could be painted for you? Pretty shameless I know but needs must! ;)

  16. What a great idea, I might hog Mattsville myself as 'Ubique' would be difficult to fit in anywhere (I don't think I even pronouce it correctly myself).

  17. I love it. Glad to see Adamsgrad in the region of Westoros. The Game of Thrones inspired names are great, and work well.

So does Adamsgrad fall under control of Rayonia at this point, or is it a neutral town?

    1. You are under Franonia as Rayonia is a breakaway region!

    2. Perfect. Though our proximity to the evil capital, along being well known for a populace with beautiful women with good child bearing hips will make us a target in the upcoming war.
Can't wait to see it started.

  27. Tristesse sounds like a depressing place to visit. That name probably doesn't help attract many tourists!

  28. I didn't follow this project and I see that it was a wrong way!
That's really a great idea and it's fun to find on the map some names I know and even I like!
Dune, Westoros (Westeros I suppose?), Tyrion (it could be a very small country!), St Paul's Bods, Anne, Peter's Cave (a mine I suppose?)etc....
    That's just great!
I don't see a Middle Earth country or a Hobbiton town... or a Gandalf Tower or something like that....
(maybe my eyes are not good enough?)

  29. In honor of Miktonbürg's inclusion on this most excellent map they're giving out free croissants and .338 Lapua rounds to all visitors. Right on the Bay of Franonia too, nice real estate there!

  30. Nice map...strategies are now being plotted. P.S. don't go near Lucky Joe's Mine, it's owned and run by Zombies from Zombia!

  32. Excellent work, Fran. I'd advise folk to steer clear of Mayhem City. I hear its overrun with zombies!

  33. Some great work on the map. And I did get my own fort. Must be to protect the land from attacks coming from the see or maybe Rebel island? I will protect the country with honour.

Go raibh maith agat you wonderful man.

  44. Hi Fran,

somehow my comment from this afternoon seems to have disappeared... Propably I sent it into the endless wideness of WWW instead of your Blog... ;-)

Hoewever this map was a great idea and I'm overwhelmed by the result. Thanks for founding MONTYHAM. My humble followers will be at your service if needed. But I'll have a watchful eye on this precious little town in Franonia.

    Have fun with this map!

  48. I hope the forces of Rayonia are mobilising and arming themselves to the teeth to defend the strategically important Oil Capital of their nation, Kingsleytown!

Cheers Fran although you will appreciate that I will now have to make derogatory comments about the Franonian dictatorship!

  49. That is soooo awesome! Please don't drop any nukes near Bardchester. The folks there are lovely, hardworking people, and the beaches are just perfect for amphibious land- ... er... I mean tourists... yes, that's it, tourists. The people of Bardchester love tourists and have no desire to be liberated from Rayonia at all...
