20mm Painted WW2 German Field Kitchen.

"If they build it I will usually buy it for my lead and resin addiction"

Painted (no idea if I painted them right) these a while ago as it appealed to me, no use in a wargame other than scenery (maybe morale) but if they build it I will usually buy it, comes from SGTS MESS and not a bad sculpt for a change, you get 4 figures and the trailer and I added the rest of the items to bulk out the unit.

Still painting 28mm ACW Union troops for the challenge.........

.....and a further simple guide to understanding women!

  1. Fantastic painting work, Fran. I like to put these type of models on the table; they add a lot of character to the game.

    Cheers!

  3. That's a very characterful piece of scenery. The fact that it looks so good should outweigh any practical use for it.

  4. Some good tabletop additions, are you sure it's not the Wunderwaffe?

  5. Very nice little set. Its touches like these that set off the tabletop.

  8. Those are the important guys in battle - those that handle up on the food. Great job!

The women's language had me laughing but I don't do that because I am perfect, as are all other women!!!

  9. You seem to be pretty functional with your lead and resin addiction, so I don't think treatments necessary at this point.

  10. Nice job with the cooks!
The last line about women nails it.

  11. I like how women pretend to be complicated when we know they aren't. Then again, men do it too. At least the scenery looks pretty good.

  16. Nice one Fran, when are they on ebay then?

  17. Great paint work as always, and as a married man, I recognize that 'woman speak' all too well. However, it's missing "nothing." Because "nothing" always means "something", as in, "what's wrong, honey?"

    NOTHING.

  19. Nice work Fran, Perhaps use it as an objective for a Christmas game

  20. It was the chef in you that made this purchase Francis Lee. I hope you notice that I've just used your full name. Now, does that mean you're in trouble? Or am I just mucking about? If you don't reply to this comment, will you be in the doghouse?

  21. Good stuff and a different subject matter from usual SS and Panzers (or is this an SS Panzer unit field kitchen !?)

  22. Nice job here mate. Really liking them, and agreed that they would add to the morale or mood of the gaming experience at the very least!

  26. No means yes..unless it means no....and there´s the problem.
The chef, Heinz, can only cook 57 types of dishes....all of them soup which the troops called "Heinz´s varieties"
Ok..it´s a crap pun ..but it is Monday evening :-D

  28. Fran, they look perfect. I've eaten far too much over Christmas and New Year, but had I not done so it would almost make me feel hungry!

  29. Very nice!
I was talking about figures, not women's languages...my wife is not far...

  34. By the time we figure out women's language they change it up on us!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh, the guy on the far right (meat cleaver - holding a goose)really impresses me. So then you eff it up by posting 'women's language'... consider your goose cooked! :p

    ReplyDelete
  36. Really nice Gulaschkanone, with the cooks looking suitably well fed. And even the Duchess reckons the guide to women is spot on.

  37. Looks like an important tactical objective to me, hot food in the field was always a bonus!

    ReplyDelete
  38. So there's a 'right' way to paint these?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Very cool Fran. I think the "extras" like this if great even they don't serve a purpose for the table top battle. It's still nice to see vignettes like this on the periphery.

  41. I've seen that before the woman/man thing. That's funny and a little bit true for some chicks.

Nice painting as usual. Have a groovy night and boogie boogie boogie.

  42. Nice work Fran, there's a lot of character in this set. I can heard the voice of Sgt. Schultz (Hogan's Heroes) asking about dinner and strudel.

  47. I recall a first person account by a Canadian whose unit scaled up an "unscaleable" mountain in Sicily. When they got to the top they surprised a German kitchen unit. Said kitchen unit scrambled for positions and returned fire. The Canadians eventually won the day however.

  48. Really nice field kitchen!

And now I understand why my wife is looking angry at me! Thanks Fran! Now I can translate her words! :-D
