My Favourite Games Workshop WH40K figure but maybe not the best painted!

"Space Marine Terminator Captain"

Digging around the man cave when I found a box folder with my favourite models in 40K, the Terminators of the Space Marines, the new stuff is lovely but these in my opinion were the best, I have had most of these for quite a while (back when my chapter The Dark Angels were black!), it's a static pose but a pose of authority......

........most of them have been nitromor's a few times and repainted a few times (the last time was many years ago but still my favourites, not even on proper 40K bases but they were for another set of rules once that didn't happen.........maybe it's time to get the Dettol!!!!!!!

He had a few friends.......

.....and a few more!

What the hell he got a few more, I think the chaplain is the newest?

  1. I have to agree 100% - that Terminator Captain model was pretty much solely responsible for my interest in 40k.

I feel the need to dig out my old Termie Captain and repaint him!

  5. Very nice mate I love the Classic 8 model Terminator set the Librarian was a close favourite.

I think there is a newer terminator chaplain as all the Termie suits now hulk over everyone.

  6. They look great, Fran.

The flat bases work good with them, too!

  7. They have chaplains? If religious people wore armour like that I might go to church.

  8. They all look great. Best, Dean

  10. Great minis Fran, I love GW stuff, but baulk at their extortionate prices...:-(

  11. These are Space Crusade/Space Hulk vintage - just before GW went apeshit and morphed into the Evil Empire. Blimey, you could even buy spare parts to do your own mods.

Happy days, long gone, but a nice figure.

    :O)

  16. You did a wonderful job on his face Fran and I like his expression. No Dettol for the minis!!!!

  21. I think GW has lost the ability to produce such fantastic models. My favourite one is the old Abbadon. Wonderful model!

  22. Nice minis indeed, not sore about the need to repaint them, they look Tabletopish enough.

  23. Tough lot, bringing the bad@ss! GW does have a lot of models with character.

  24. I must say the paint job is pretty good to my eyes! I certainly wouldn't repaint them! Re-base only, if that's necessary?

  27. I'm digging the little skulls. Very cool.

PS: Thanks, I am feeling better. Just sore but no flu as of yet. As I say, fingers and paws crossed.

  29. I like the Inquisitor model the most. It says "oldschool" with such badass. Oh sweet memories.
I can only second Anne and what she said about the face of the captain; pretty aweseome. Maybe just add some coloured details on them to break the plain black, like the skullwings on the chests and the kneepad and belt buckle on the captain.

  30. Those where the Terminators I loved. You feel the weight of the armor and the fact the guy won't let you go with a smile.

The new Terminators look too dynamic in my opinion.

  31. They look pretty good as they are to me!

    Cheers,

  32. Hey! I knew you had some of these around! I'm pretty fond of the 40k even if I don't collect the miniatures. Weird that all you have are pre-heresy Dark Angels.

Blood Ravens are the best chapter because they're the stupidest.

  33. Very nicely done. I would not want to anger him!!

  34. Boy those were the days. I remember when those Terminators used to be massive figures. Now they're the same size as a normal space marine and about half the size of a modern Terminator. That last one isn't a Chaplain by the way, he's an Inquisitor. Depending on your luck, he can sometimes go for quite an impressive amount on Ebay. Other times, you can practicaly steal him away for nothing.

  35. I've got to echo many of the same sentiments, the captain and the rest of the line are just beauties and totally hold their own to today's multi-part, hyper-dynamic plastic poses. Nice re-find!

  36. Guns AND a sword? That's truly bad ass. I'd love to see those things in action.

  37. Looks excellent to me Fran! :)

  38. Very cool miniatures. The suits on those space soldiers are very detailed. Great job!

  39. Descent paint job + nostalgia = looks awesome to me ;-)

  40. this looks like it could have been a character from an early 90's cartoon I used to watch called ExoSquad. Soldiers who suited up in giant armored space suits. Awesome stuff.
