Angry Lurker Honest Movie Review 101: Kick-Ass 2 (3 STARS)

"If you liked the first one you'll probably like this one"- The Angry Lurker

Kick Ass has inspired lots of people young and old to don their costumes, make up cool names and patrol the streets as vigilantes (some are better than others), Hit Girl now older is having normal teenager problems with high school, foster dad and hormones, Red Mist who is very funny and over the top and is now back with a new name (The Motherfecker and that's the clean version) and a new gang ( ......of who Mother Russia is a member and the highlight of the movie) and an insane need to feck Kick Ass up! There are plenty of famous and not so famous faces to be seen and some quite briefly, some laugh out moments (diarrhea and vomiting at the same time scene is an eye opener and my mate Vinnie nearly choked with laughter, he's such a child), good violence (not too over top or gory (most of the time)........

...............it eventually leads up to a massive confrontation/fight between the Justice Forever superheroes and The Toxic Mega C..... superheroes(I can't print the word but you get the idea I hope or don't) and if you see it at the movies make sure you stay during the credits for another scene!

Worth a watch, pure popcorn...............

Mother Russia, all woman........

Also seen "Only God Forgives" and can't bring myself to review it at the moment........all because of Jim's Fear review and my total opposite view, awful, awful, awful...........awful.......arse water by a long way but maybe it's just me!

  4. Sounds like a dvd one, liked the first but wasn't overly appealing

  5. I enjoyed it, I felt it was more a coming of age film for a younger audience this time round but was still funny, especially the revenge.

  6. Arse water, eh?

I haven't seen the first one yet. Well, I saw a wee bit part in it but not the entire thing. Tim liked it though.

  7. I haven't read the book yet for this one, I wasn't even aware that a sequel was released. I probably should read it first.

  9. Not seen the first one yet, But sequels do not, as a general rule, tend to be as good as the first film. I am sure I will watch Kick Ass when I can find it on TV at a suitable tie/date for me.

  11. I loved the first one and rarely expect too much from sequels, though I have been surprised more than once.

Thanks for the review and I'll be catching it when I can!

    1. It's nearly as good but a little more grown up if that's a good way of describing it.

  14. not my cup of tea, Fran, since I'm strongly against the portrayal of kids as kick ass warriors and assassins, but I do like Aaron Johnson.

    1. I understand but they're older in this movie, I believe Carrey felt the same?

  16. I do want to see this, and I think it needs an extra star for Mother Russia alone.

  18. Everyone told me the first one was awesome, so I watched it. I kinda wish I had liked it. The people who looked forward to this one seem happy.

  19. The first one wasn't bad. I'd definitely see this on DVD. And I had originally wanted to see Only God Forgives, but I keep hearing people say the same thing - it sucks. Doesn't Ryan Gosling only talk like 2 times in the whole movie? That sounds pretty terrible.

  20. He's nearly a fecking mute........

  21. Sounds a lot similar to Ben stiller's superhero movie. Forgot the name.
Will give a watch , but I ain't going to any theatre.
And agree with Jim's fear, he once made me bleed to death with "Drive" movie review. (kidding)
