28mm ACW Foundry Confederate Cavalry and If Facebook existed during The American Civil War?

These 28mm Confederate boys are mine and are from Foundry Miniatures and were a joint venture between myself and Battleaxe Painting Service (Ray and Postie) back in the good old days, I'm working on some 2 page ACW skirmish rules adapted from some Postie used for an French-Indian wargame we had a while back!

I'm trying to remember what unit this is.........?

......and if Facebook existed during the American Civil War?

........and don't forget Chris has a giveaway over at Wargamer's Odds and Ends which ends on October the 7th!

  4. I saw Lincoln movie last week. I love your Facebook series posts Fran. Actually CSA would have been lot better. USA could use CSA like Guatanamo Bay and could push all convicts ie racists and supremacists to CSA and we could make fun of them like Australia :)
CSA warriors of statesrights and property ownership and property means all those brought in chains and ones came in boat not mayflower but other boats and who came looking for jobs ie Asians, chinikies and landowners ie injuns - CSA paradise on earth for "some".

    1. Don't forget the Irish. We built New York, Chicago, the railroads from the East to the Mid West and they put signs up saying: "No dogs, No Negroes, No Irish". They worked our men till they died and we lived in slums.

    2. My beef is this,
Ok, it happened but some folks till today call it as "states rights".
Recently I had a discussion with British and she mentioned that they don't read about colonialism in textbooks because it would be totally irrelevant? Really?
So, in future if someone says "british India " had boards that would read "no dogs and Indians allowed" the guy can respond "yes, British loved Indians like cats, so cute right?"

    1. You misunderstood me Fran. Of course I meant we all miss you two being silly with each other here. Things aren't the same without your bromance!

Read the sentence out loud and you'll hear how I meant it.

  6. Can't remember what the troops are either?? I though it was a generic flag, so you can call them whatever you want?? Git!

  14. I love those Facebook scenarios people make. That was one of the better ones. Abe Lincoln was such a badass. You know that movie about him being a vampire hunter was a biopic.

  19. I almost missed this post. Nice one Fran. If you do any ACW skirmish with the rejects drop me a line if you want me there. (Or not if you don't). I could see this going Big at my club now the plastics are about. Trying not to get instantly sidetracked onto something new. But inspired none the less.

    All the best Mate.

  31. I loooove these fbook things so much, I think you should keep 'em coming and then eventually maybe make a book out of them.

...do you take suggestions? I think Little Big Horn would be a good 'un.

  32. Hahaha - I remember seeing one for the Nazis once. Bloody stupid of course but you couldn't help laughing at modern spotty little 'erbert lingo doing a shorthand narration of history via Facebook! Of course most Facebook users of that generation wouldn't have a farkin' clue (in my crabby Old Fart view) Love your Foundry Reb cav too - yeeeehaaa!!!

  33. Not sure what regiment that is, but great collaboration on those soldiers! Facebook for history is probably the only way that some social media addicts can learn it, but for us it's great entertainment.

  34. I wonder if someone will do a FB conversation regarding the US's current predicament. That would be pretty funny.
