These 28mm Confederate boys are mine and are from Foundry Miniatures and were a joint venture between myself and Battleaxe Painting Service (Ray and Postie) back in the good old days, I'm working on some 2 page ACW skirmish rules adapted from some Postie used for an French-Indian wargame we had a while back!
I'm trying to remember what unit this is.........?
......and if Facebook existed during the American Civil War?
........and don't forget Chris has a giveaway over at Wargamer's Odds and Ends which ends on October the 7th!
A big anaconda with your name on it - where else would you see that?
ReplyDeleteFigures look great!
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play???
ReplyDeleteGreat looking cavalry there!
Thanks Scott!
DeleteAce looking cavalry mate. These FB exchanges always makes me chuckle when I read them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon.
DeleteI saw Lincoln movie last week. I love your Facebook series posts Fran. Actually CSA would have been lot better. USA could use CSA like Guatanamo Bay and could push all convicts ie racists and supremacists to CSA and we could make fun of them like Australia :)
ReplyDeleteCSA warriors of statesrights and property ownership and property means all those brought in chains and ones came in boat not mayflower but other boats and who came looking for jobs ie Asians, chinikies and landowners ie injuns - CSA paradise on earth for "some".
Don't forget the Irish. We built New York, Chicago, the railroads from the East to the Mid West and they put signs up saying: "No dogs, No Negroes, No Irish". They worked our men till they died and we lived in slums.
DeleteAmen sisters!
DeleteMy beef is this,
DeleteOk, it happened but some folks till today call it as "states rights".
Recently I had a discussion with British and she mentioned that they don't read about colonialism in textbooks because it would be totally irrelevant? Really?
So, in future if someone says "british India " had boards that would read "no dogs and Indians allowed" the guy can respond "yes, British loved Indians like cats, so cute right?"
Nice looking troops Fran and I'm betting you're missing those days with Ray. Sure and the rest of us miss the banter as well.
ReplyDeleteMaybe sometimes?
DeleteYou misunderstood me Fran. Of course I meant we all miss you two being silly with each other here. Things aren't the same without your bromance!
DeleteRead the sentence out loud and you'll hear how I meant it.
Can't remember what the troops are either?? I though it was a generic flag, so you can call them whatever you want?? Git!
ReplyDeleteThe flag Looks like The First National Flag,(final Version, the star in the middle and the rest should Count to 13 in total)
Deletehttp://www.civilwarvirtualmuseum.org/1861-1862/battle-of-wilsons-creek/cs-1st-national-flag.php
So...you could add another flag which would Name the unit and Bingo :-D
DeleteNice looking unit btw.
Thanks a lot Paul and get bent Ironsides!
DeleteNice figures Fran. Funny Facebook skit, but a bit of a ticklish subject if you're an American, I'll bet.
ReplyDeleteI don't think so?
Deletelovely job, Fran, love the blues and the horses!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dez!
DeleteGreat looking rebels, Fran! Ready to ride around the Army of the Potomac? On your mark...
ReplyDeleteGet set and go?
DeleteGreat work on the confederates. Thanks for the fb skit, made me chuckle!
ReplyDeleteNo problem my friend.
DeleteGreat looking figures Fran
ReplyDeleteThanks Al!
DeleteNice work, General. The rider on the right flank yawning is my choice of "Troop of the Day!"
ReplyDeleteTiring work being a Rebel!
DeleteAll back to states rights haha and great job too
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat.
DeleteI love those Facebook scenarios people make. That was one of the better ones. Abe Lincoln was such a badass. You know that movie about him being a vampire hunter was a biopic.
ReplyDeleteI did see it, he had an interesting life!
DeleteMost amusing , I like these facebook thingies :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are well done!
DeleteVery cleanly painted and based - they look great. Dean
ReplyDeleteNice one Dean!
DeleteGreat looking bunch of Rebs Fran!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Thanks Christopher!
DeleteGreat looking Confederates Fran, with splendid poses, and funny Facebook posts!!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Phil.
I almost missed this post. Nice one Fran. If you do any ACW skirmish with the rejects drop me a line if you want me there. (Or not if you don't). I could see this going Big at my club now the plastics are about. Trying not to get instantly sidetracked onto something new. But inspired none the less.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Mate.
Thanks Clint old boy!
DeleteVery nice looking. Good work!
ReplyDeleteNice one Stefan.
DeleteLovely job on these Fran.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul.
DeleteNice figures.
ReplyDeleteNice one Trey.
DeleteGreat cavalry and nice FB - very nice ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Monty.
DeleteNice miniatures and the paint job is good. And the correct term is Secesh.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike!
DeleteVery nice figures, Fran. The round bases are a great idea.
ReplyDeleteAnd that FB is superb!
Nice one Juan.
DeleteGreat minis, have you seen the Movie the Confederate states of America, its a what if the south won the war, very funny
ReplyDeleteI must check that out!
DeleteReally nice work Fran!
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris.
DeleteI'm with Paul, just an early flag of the CSA. I would go with Nathan Bedford Forrest and his lot.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the guy in the front drinking?
ReplyDeleteMoonshine?
DeleteI could have learned so much like this..
ReplyDeleteExcellent Facebook stuff. The figures look great too, and on the right side!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe South will rise again!
DeletePlays are the worst - ha ha!!
ReplyDeleteThese are so funny!
Thanks Elsie.
DeleteGreat "facebook" banter, I love it !
ReplyDeleteAs for the troops ("I'm trying to remember what unit this is.........?"), Ray told me to tell you that they're called "Cavalry"
He's a funny fecker!
DeleteNice Rebs Fran! Send me a copy of the rules when you get them done.
ReplyDeleteI loooove these fbook things so much, I think you should keep 'em coming and then eventually maybe make a book out of them.
ReplyDelete...do you take suggestions? I think Little Big Horn would be a good 'un.
Poor old Custer!
DeleteHahaha - I remember seeing one for the Nazis once. Bloody stupid of course but you couldn't help laughing at modern spotty little 'erbert lingo doing a shorthand narration of history via Facebook! Of course most Facebook users of that generation wouldn't have a farkin' clue (in my crabby Old Fart view) Love your Foundry Reb cav too - yeeeehaaa!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Doc!
DeleteNot sure what regiment that is, but great collaboration on those soldiers! Facebook for history is probably the only way that some social media addicts can learn it, but for us it's great entertainment.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear mate.
DeleteI wonder if someone will do a FB conversation regarding the US's current predicament. That would be pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteLove the blue, makes them stand out.
Thanks for that.
DeleteGreate looking cavalry !!!
ReplyDeleteThhat facebook page is hilarious! Excellent find! Oh and yes the figures are excellent painted!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Peter
You're a good man Peter!
