15mm Modern Team Yankee BM-21 Grad 122mm Multiple Rocket Launch System.....

....from Battlefront!

The BM-21 is a Soviet truck mounted 122mm multiple rocket launcher, the "Grad" stands for hail! A minimum range of 1.6km and a maximum of up to 40km and is the most widely used multiple rocket launch system in the world!

3 resin BM-21 from Battlefront, not too difficult to put together, 2 for the Russians/East Europeans and 1 for my North Koreans! Yet again probably scenery or an objective?

15mm Oddzial Osmy and Khurasan miniatures for a touch of scale..........

15mm FOW Battlefront Team Yankee ZSU 23-4 "Shilka", 1.5 million hits.......

..........and has anyone seen my blog rolls?

A couple of 15mm ZSU 23-4 from Flames of War new Team Yankee range set around the time of the cold war in the 1980's, the pieces are resin with metal parts, they're not too bad apart from some damage to the hull (broken pieces not in blister pack either). Painted up for forces either in the middle east or eastern Europe and still in use to this day!

Trying to use what I can for my modern skirmish gaming and have used some other vehicles from the range including scenery!

Hit 1.5 million hits a while back but wasn't online at the time and in the last few days have lost both blog rolls ( I know a little careless but they have vanished) and I am currently trying to catch up and remember a lot, if you want to remind me of any just check the current blog roll to the left.

The acronym "ZSU" stands for Zenitnaya Samokhodnaya Ustanovka (RussianЗенитная Самоходная Установка), meaning "anti-aircraft self-propelled mount"; the "23" signifies the bore diameter in millimeters; the "4" signifies the number of gun barrels. It is named after the Shilka River in Russia. Afghan soldiers nicknamed it the "sewing machine" due to the sound of firing guns. It is also referred to by its nickname of "Zeus".

15mm Modern Russian MVD "Vityaz" or Men in Black wearing balaclavas.....

.....from Armies Armies!

Now these are listed as sci-fi on the website but they were the cool looking figures wearing balaclavas and could be loosely based on this unit from the MVD (Ministry of Internal Affairs).

A little boring painting in black but they didn't turn out too bad, they'll need vehicles though.....

Could be used as Spetsnaz, maybe "Alfa" or any of the Russian elites?

Nice figures, little flash, love the vehicle riders and have some more who will get a more traditional camouflage colour (with 15mm you take what you can get)........

Vitayz (Knight) was formed in 1991, it was assigned specifically to counter terrorism duties, but was trained to deal with civil unrest, prison rebellions and mutinies

Some real Russian Men in Black.........

15mm Modern Iveco LMV 4WD from.....

......Evil Bear Wargames.

It's listed on the site as a British Army "Panther".

The Russians have them and this is my attempt until someone produces a 15mm Tigr, these are about the best resin models I have ever bought, crisp and great detail (the wing mirror was broken when it arrived but after much swearing I finally glued it back in place), came in a metal tin with a tea bag. There will probably be no more 15mm models from the company due to poor sales and they will focus on the 28mm business for the time being..............

...........but could be used for several other nationalities.

I have put a figure comparison shot to show scale in case they're your thing.......

Some blurb.........

Iveco LMV (Light Multirole Vehicle) is a 4WD tactical vehicle developed by Iveco, and in service with several countries. After its adoption by the Italian Army under the name VTLM Lince (Lynx)(Veicolo-Tattico-Leggero-Multiruolo), it won the FCLV (Future Command and Liaison Vehicle) competition of the British Army as the Panther and has been adopted by the armies of Belgium, Albania, Norway, Russia and Spain. The Italian Army took vehicles to both Afghanistan and Lebanon. In Afghanistan Lince vehicles have saved passengers' lives in several attacks with IEDs.

Similar but different.........

The figures are 15mm Eureka and Oddzial Osmy.

Belgian I believe......

Need some modern 15mm Russian stars......

15mm Modern Russsian Spetsnaz or "Little Green Men" from......

........Oddzial Osmy.

Modern Russian Spetsnaz (Special Purpose) are general terms used for a variety of special operation forces (or regular forces assigned to special tasks),  Russia has a lot of these units, GRU, Naval, VDV and last seen in the Ukraine I believe or the "Little Green Men"

These are from the AHPC 2015, had a break after the challenge but currently back painting little 15mm men and machines....

Looking at new rules as well and may try modern bolt action?

15mm Russo-Japanese demo game at Broadside 2014, The Rejects sweating their crackers off or....

....how BigLee is crap with the dice even when it's a demo game!

We have been going to Broadside for it's last 3 years now and while I thought we would go again but not put on a game! Little did I know that Postie would rustle something up quickly and that it would be impressive enough and beautiful enough to win a prize!

It was hot that day...........

We arrived about 0800hrs for an opening at 1000hrs, took about 50 minutes for it to be put together.....

Little help from the smiling one........

Just more useless advise but every group has one........

The showstopper.........

Russian balloon for spotting and telephoning in Japanese movements........

Sculpted metal base to balance the monster, beautiful work from the little megalomaniac......

Finally set up........

Apart from the Peter Pig building this is all hand crafted too..........

Japanese start their advance....

Russians hide behind their hills, me and Lee started to get suspicious about the Russians intentions in this demo game..........

Very suspicious.........

Siberians in their lovely whites...........

We even have telegraph poles with telegraph lines, sewing thread lines, first one to knock a pole over had to buy the teas, poor old Lee.........

On another note I have been put in charge of advertising, where it says "Posties Rejects" we can add your name or business for a nice little, very cheap, negotiable little fee, I'm hoping for Coca Cola and Burger King to come in first but no offer openly laughed at at this stage.......

How do we win this game now, we had been advancing our figures forward for the effect and as eye candy for the visitors to the show........

All of a sudden the Russians are up and prone and firing at the poor strung out demo advancing Japanese.....

We were more engaged with talking with visitors and trying to keep cool in the fecking heat, we had little time to play a demo game (I hope I'm not saying demo too much Ray!)......

Ray about to release a serious wedge in to the Foundry coffers......

The Milton boys had found a cool spot and were making the most of it.........

I did mention it was hot?..............

Tamsin (fellow Reject) taking a picture of Rays devious and conniving I'm playing a real game face for evidence)......

The Japanese taking a little bit of a hammering in this demo and not a real game......

That observer was a bit of an eagle eyed git..........

International observers too frowned upon the playing style of the Russian side........

A melee for which I cannot find a result as it was not recorded I believe......

We soon wiped the smug faces of these two Russkies when me and Lee went shopping and called a tactical demo draw and headed off.......

Winner, winner chicken dinner, all down to the little megalomaniac, well deserved too............

Next time:    The treatment of metal miniatures, bullying from scary little gits and my Analogue Hobbies Challenge 600 point bet figures start to come home to roost!
