I posted a while ago about some figures I had seen on ebay
http://theangrylurker.blogspot.com/2010/12/any-idea-who-makes-these-figures.html and found something similar on a Japanese site, now the debate here and on The Miniatures Page was how many you got for the money (1 or 24?), so I emailed them and found out you got 24 1:35 scale painted battle suits for 3,000 yen and 992 yen postage (£31.96 at the time), placed the order and received them in 4 days!
So I took a few comparison pictures so you get an idea of scale and a link

Pictures as terrible as usual.
The box itself, had already opened it.
24 little boxes of delight.
L to R, 28mm Copplestone Castings and 28mm Black Scorpion Miniatures.
Will need to base them and repaint them, will probably not use them all.
These were on sale a few years ago by Hobby Link Japan, stating 'they would never be on sale again'. I got a box as well then, really nice figs. They also had scorpion-like tanks and the like.
ReplyDeleteThey are made by 'Hobby Base', who at that time had the licence of the Maschinenkrieger range, originated by Japanese artist Kow Yokoyama.
Wish you didnt post this up, just knee jurked and ordered my self a set.
ReplyDeleteSo fun man
ReplyDeleteI knew I had seen those before:

I'm going to have to be strong here, but they look great! They look like other than basing though they really don't need a new coat of paint unless you're going for a specific scheme.
ReplyDeleteThey look ok...great APU´s...and you´ve got loads of em!!!
ReplyDeleteCheers
Paul

ReplyDeleteHey TAL, hope you had a good christmas!
ReplyDeleteIf you've read World War Z, these suits immediately reminded me of the section in that where they talk about the suits warn by the divers; these would be great for that!
I don't know what they are, but they look good!
ReplyDeleteDont know, but they're awesome. I really wish i had one for my desk :)
ReplyDeleteno idea but they look gr8.
ReplyDeleteThey look good.

No idea who makes them =] They look quite decent :)
ReplyDeleteAh, Maschinen Krieger. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAlthough releases are sporadic the line is still very much alive. When living in Japan I came across these numerous times (and managed to only buy a few!). I heartily recommend this site for further perusal: http://www.maschinenkrueger.com/joomla/
Those are fantastic robo-suits! They remind me of bomb disposal suits.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great find! I ordered some after your previous post and anxiously awaiting their arrival. I also picked up some AT-43 Soviet Blok robo-powersuit-thingies from FFG super cheap in december... I foresee some giant-robo-power-armour battles in the near future!!
ReplyDeleteYellow Submarine was the manufacturer.
