Fran: Ray!
Ray: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
Fran: RAY!
Ray: What?
Fran: Stop fecking snoring!
Ray: I can't help it!
Ray: ZZZZZzzzzzzzzz!
Fran: Ray!
The committee (Loki, James and Kev) meet to discuss the snoring and budgie smuggler incident!
Fran: WTF?
Ray: What's wrong?
Fran: Put some fecking clothes on!
Ray: I have (lifting his belly up) and showing the tiniest pair of underwear!
Fran: For fecks sake I've gone blind!
Ray: What's the problem?
Fran: Why are you wearing budgie smugglers?
Ray: What?
Fran: Are they from the childrens department?
Ray: No!
Fran: Put some fecking clothes on...something has winked at me!
Separate rooms next year..........!
The trip up in the car was a five hour endurance test with Ray wanting to punch other drivers in the throat, traffic hold ups, heavy rain, tiredness and a sat nav extracting the urine with it's constant journey arrival times getting less hopeful.....how we laughed!
Getting poisoned by The Flaming Dragon was no picnic either (bloody Ray)........caught a movie, checked out the local wildlife (I feel old)..........our neighbours upstairs were lucky to survive as well!
The 2 day event at Wargames Foundry and for which we attended both days was excellent, the foundry is a bright huge area of shiny goodness, several of the tables already had games set up by several fellow bloggers but by the end of two days I had only managed to play three, Ray managed four, there was so much talking to be done and bitching about Ray obviously as well!
Great event, great people, great games, next year they're thinking of holding it on one day with a dinner afterwards, sounds great to me and if I'm still kicking I'll be there!
What follows is a series of pictures from the event..........
The best game for me was Dave's Wild West town of Serenity game, anything went and was allowed, great set of rules!
Excellent scenery............
Blazing dice and blog whore!
The man Dave himself, great umpire and leader of the pack James!
Ian with his 6mm Napoleonic game wondering when the kick in the crackers would come....
Still wondering.....
Lovely little 6mm goodness.........
Next up was a game of SAGA between myself and Ray, first time we ever played these rules......
Mike tries to explain the SAGA rules to Ray for the seventh time, poor Mike.......
A good game but will need more attempts to master it, I would have won as all I had to do was roll a 5 with 4 dice....no such luck!
Another game of Blazing dice well received.......
The glare from that bald spot.......
Pete Barfield and his excellent VBCW game........
The ninja sect of Morris men.......
Really good game with me playing the Irish boys but James sneaking the win with the box challenge......
The Irish did well and sorted Lee's boys out sharpish.......
Warlord Paul in the distance with his Oldhammer game, should have got pictures......
Ray spending a lot of Posties money, a lot of temptation at this venue.......
Missed lots, didn't play as many games as I would have liked, lots of chatting, bullshitting, shenanigans and people ganging up on Ray and finding out I was right all along!
Roll on next year if I'm still around!
I'm not sure what you're describing. A visit on the event or a horror trip with your driver? Maybe both ;-) Great post!
ReplyDeleteRegards
Bruno
Thanks Bruno, more the horror though!
DeleteI thought so :-)
DeleteRegards
Bruno
Glad you enjoyed it. Well part from the budgie smuggling incident obviously. That could scar a chap
ReplyDeleteThe double 1 on your opening move with Stumpy was a classic...
I had another word for it!
DeleteCool looking tables there. Not sure what the dialogue was about at the start re budgie smugglers - just glad that didn't get shown in the pictures...
ReplyDeleteBlogger said they would take legal action if I did!
DeleteGood pick of Lee's Tonsure! I wish I had read about Ray's budgie smugglers when I had a stiff drink in my hand But I am so hoping this was not true and just meant to shock!. That and the drive aside it looks and sounds like one heck of a good day. Little Jel that I did not make it. I shall have to start saving my pennies for next year. Great Post mate. I am interested to know what "Postie" bought thou.......
ReplyDeleteMore ECW my friend and it's true about the Speedo wearing!
DeleteYou got my best side, cheers Fran!
ReplyDeleteNot a problem Paul!
DeleteIt was a great weekend, Fran. It was great to meet up with you and Ray - and even better to share a game with you. I also enjoyed "The Foresters" - although I think I'd be suicidal if that was my local! Glad you had such a good time on the Sunday.
ReplyDeleteIt was a bit.....er......well you know!!
DeleteThat pub was worse than the one on Ray's stag night!
DeleteA real pleasure Sidney.......
Great photos. You and Ray are really quite a comical pair.
ReplyDeleteI'm the straight guy!
DeleteRay could've easily snuggled up in one of those tents to sleep some more... they look so realistic!
ReplyDeleteIt would have been quieter anyway!
DeleteGreat report! Sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting big boy ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat to meet you guys
Ian
Ray made me promise because of your ailment!
DeleteThat looks like a blast! Good thing there are no photos of the budgie incident.
ReplyDeleteTop secret for now Monty!
DeleteI like to keep it all in one place, I can't wear them ones where it dangerous to sit down encase you squash something very delicate!
ReplyDeleteT'was a great weekend of fun and games!!! And you snore like a bleedin' Donkey as well I'll have you know my Oirish friend!
You lying heathen!
DeleteSounds a crack...I think :-o must admit, I'm not sure about Saga, but it's always looked interesting - I may give it another scan - great post, though, Fran
ReplyDeleteIt's not bitten me yet but maybe a few more games?
DeleteLooks like good games. Boards look cool!!
ReplyDeleteWas it worth the horror?
;-)
Just about but it was close!
DeleteExciting weekend report, General. You are a survivor!
ReplyDeleteOne of the fecking few!
DeleteMy My Fran and Ray out on the Razzle!
ReplyDeleteNottingham was scared!
DeleteLooks like a lot of fun and if I want into the Foundry I'd come out broke for sure!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Very easily done!
DeleteLooks like everyone had a pretty good time and those boards, wow, just amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marcy!
DeleteAhhh budgie smugglers, Australia's gift to to bold forward thinking men across the world... so why was Ray wearing a pair? Speedo will probably pay a fortune NOT to have a picture of their premier product line being modeled so unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteGreat report Fran
Thanks Dave! I'll have you know they've already been in contact and a contract is in the post!!
DeleteAhhhhg too late, first sightings have gone on line!
Deletehttp://images.sodahead.com/polls/002705373/2220145548_Speedos_answer_2_xlarge.jpeg
Jesus wept Dave, that's exactly like it was but less material!
DeleteLMAO glad there was no visuals of Ray, your description was enough hahaha
ReplyDeleteI'm mentally scarred mate!
DeleteA Serenity game? That is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'd never share a room with anyone. Nothing personal.
Sometimes economics raise their ugly head!
DeleteLOL, your banter cracks me up! Glad you guys had a blast - some cool looking games there!
ReplyDeleteIt was well done for the first one.
DeleteYou truly suffered for you love of gaming, Fran.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking to be a martyr!
DeleteAre smugglers like underoos?
ReplyDeleteYes but smellier!
DeleteEwwwwwwww.
DeleteGreat to hear your take on it Fran, looks like it was a fantastic weekend.
ReplyDeleteNothing but the truth Sean!
DeleteSome terrific looking games there, the cowboy one especially. Ray, by the way, has a terrific picture of you playing it ;)
ReplyDeleteFMB
The swine!
DeleteHow cool to be able to game at the Foundry. Nottingham is a very cool place. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteExcellent pictures and a good read, Fran!
ReplyDeleteThanks for that Stefan!

ReplyDeleteIt was great meeting yourself and Ray.
I wss only there on the Saturday and i thoroughly enjoyed it.
A pleasure to meet you too Kev, a true gent despite what Loki said!
DeleteGreat pictures Fran, would love to make to one of these events some time
ReplyDeleteHopefully you can mate!
DeleteGreat pictures mate - apart from that awful shot of my bald patch, you swine! Its a pity I missed the Saturday as it looked like a much busier day. I was hoping for a game of Saga, maybe next year. Having said that I had a blast playing the Blazing Dice game and the Very British Civil War game...those Morris Dancers were bloody leathal!
ReplyDeleteBlazing dice was the best but all the games were enjoyable!
DeleteGreat pictures!
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Sofie
Thanks Sofie!
DeleteNice pictures, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMust have been a great weekend, well except for being short of sleep.
What rules system did they use for the 6mm Napoleonics, was that Polemos?
Ian never said....ask him over at his blog "The blog with no name"
DeleteLovely photos (but also terrible mental images!). Already looking forward to next years event.
ReplyDeleteI still have those mental images!
DeleteGreat photos Fran. Looks like you guys had a fair bit of fun too!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't do too bad Rodger!
DeleteThanks for these beautiful photos...and write-up...sounds like a wonderful day...night...week-end...

ReplyDeleteMaybe next year?
DeleteSome great looking games, makes me wish I could have been their
ReplyDeleteYou would have enjoyed it Scotty!
DeleteGreat post.
ReplyDeleteI really feel sorry for Ray, I am the one at work who's also always being picked upon! Leave the fat bugger alone!
ReplyDeleteI think not!
DeleteYou're a top bloke Loki!
ReplyDeleteSounds great (except of course for any incidents with budgie smugglers . Oooh - and Ray of course)
ReplyDeleteYou said it mate!
DeleteNice looking post Fran. Road trip!
ReplyDeleteLess Mad Max, more Last of the Summer Wine!

ReplyDeleteThank you very much !
Best regards Michael
No problem Michael!
DeleteGreat photos Fran. But WOW, that opening dialog is frightening!
ReplyDeleteI should have posted a warning!
DeleteWow. Sounds like a mixture of fun and horror. I think that's the first time I've ever heard the term "budgie smuggler," and I pray it's the last!
ReplyDeleteWe can only hope!
DeleteSounds like you had fun. Why are you still so mean to Ray?!
ReplyDeleteIf you ever meet him you will understand!
DeleteGreat review and pictures Fran! It gots humor and horror (counts both for th underwear from Ray)! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Peter
Very true Peter
DeleteGreat report Fran and honestly... Reading about your interaction with .ray (and vise versa) is always hilariously funny!
ReplyDeleteThanks my friend!
DeleteIt looks like you guys had a blast! Excellent looking games - and I love that rolling hill terrain. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteNot a problem Cory!
DeleteGood lord, the 'winking' comment made me spew coffee out my nose.
ReplyDeleteThat aside it looked to be a cracking good time. AND I see you received a figure from Mr Ansell himself! Good on you!
Thanks Curt old boy!
DeleteYou poor baby, having to be subjected to Ray is bad enough, but having to see him like that, well it's beyond the pale.
ReplyDeleteYour post made me laugh and I don't do that much anymore. Thanks Fran.
Thanks Anne, how are things progressing?
DeleteHugs to you and the Hubby, Anne xoxoxo
DeleteNot well at all. We've been in litigation for 2 years with the people who are responsible for the Hubby's physical condition. We won the case ages ago, but it's a civil suit and these bastards don't want to pay. The State court ordered them to pay us $260,000 on October 18th. They failed to do so. We now have to take them to Federal Court. We've got that court date set for Jan 16th. They have until then to pay us half a million dollars. If they don't, we're demanding 2 million in Federal Court. In Federal Court they go to prison if they don't pay. I may slit their throats while their sleeping before then. Or there's always my Uncle Sean and a car bomb :)
DeleteFucking bastards...you fuck them up girl!
DeleteSeparate room? No way! Then we wouldn't have had this wonderful post to laugh at!
ReplyDeleteI suppose so but that's tough!
DeleteThanks for sharing the pics. Looks like an aweful lot of fun...and a bit of horror show before. Great story.hahaha
ReplyDeleteThanks Markus!
DeleteA very enjoyable post Fran thank you . And some nice pictures of games to boot !
