These will look good among all the khaki fighting the Germans for my What If? Operation Sealion skirmish game, will need to find a Royal Navy admiral type figure as I have just found a WREN (Women's Royal Naval Service) figure from the SGTS' Mess range of figures to add to the masses.
Some pictures with some size comparison shots included.
L to R, Lamercraft, SHQ, Grubby Tanks and Lamercraft
Some nice looking figures. Always like the RN blue in my own colonial games as got a bit sick of Khaki
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done -- keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteFor that authentic look, make sure the WREN is serving the Admiral a cup of tea!
ReplyDeleteAnd your jack tars should get an extra Morale bonus if they've had their grog ration!
@Paul of the Man Cave: Hearts of Oak/Rum bonus +1.
ReplyDeleteLooks good!
ReplyDeleteVery nice work. They look like good figures for skirmish gaming.
ReplyDeleteNice minis, 20mm? That's a bit of an unusual scale no?
ReplyDelete@Dr.Willett's Workshop: One of the most popular scales in plastic in the beginning because of Airfix, Matchbox etc.....
ReplyDeletethe figures are nice!
ReplyDeleteVery nice and I the navy stuff always looks eally great.
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Great figures! :)
ReplyDeleteNice work Lurker these are nice.
ReplyDeleteThey do look good. Nice work, Fran!
ReplyDeleteNice, they'll definatly fit right in!

Very nice figures sir!
ReplyDeletehow bout a kick line gentlemen? bit of choreography?
ReplyDeleteWhen on earth do you get the time for all this. It is very impressive.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeletevery nice indeed, good job.
ReplyDeleteYou can visit my blog here.
I always wondered what those little guys looked like unpainted! :D
ReplyDeleteYour faces and line work is really neat.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff.
ANything special planned for these guys Fran?
ReplyDelete@Dangerous Brian: I want the initial games to be a mix of miniatures, civilians, home guard, regulars, tankers etc.....to give the feel of everyone together to throw them back into the sea.
ReplyDeleteWhere are the Marines?
ReplyDeleteSo uh, those trees appear to be made out of some sort of plant or hemp?
ReplyDeletethose looks amazingly detailed :O
ReplyDeleteNice job on them. The details are pretty good.
ReplyDeletekewl navy figures.
ReplyDeleteGreat work on these, I never could figure out how anyone could hold their hand still long enough to make these things.
ReplyDeleteThose look great! You're probably the second person ever to have painted those up. I again must advise that you seek out the FAA range for Home Guard characters, ARP wardens and suspicious-looking nuns.
ReplyDelete@Dr. Willett's Workshop
20mm is hardly an unusual scale when you consider the amount of stuff available - Norwegian infantry, Japanese paratroopers and Dutch 6-veld guns for example.
that's toy soldiers at a whole other level.
ReplyDeleteThey look excellent :D Good stuff sir!
ReplyDeletevery nice!!! very very nice......
ReplyDeleteThese are the best figures you've put on your blog so far, the painting is absolutely fantastic, they are truly superb, they don't look like they're that much of a complicated paintjob but boy, they defiantly hit the spot, did you paint them??
ReplyDeleteDang those look pretty awesome!!!!
ReplyDeleteLook good.
ReplyDeleteWhere these guys saw action in the War?
I really like the Sealion premise. Are you going to paint up some Fifth Columnists to cause troubles with your brave defenders?
ReplyDeleteWow, I love the texture on those trees in the background!
ReplyDeleteCan I touch it?
Can I?
Can I?
I was the bloke on the left. Always had my hand(s) in my pocket . . .
ReplyDelete;O)
Great figures Fran. It looks like it will be a fun game.
ReplyDeleteI like the models
ReplyDeleteAwesome details, they look like their ready for battle!!!
ReplyDeleteUnusual figures to see on a Wargames Table but will fit the bill for your What If scenario where no doubt Blighty will have to throw everyone into the conflict to defend from the Hun
ReplyDeletethe Very Model of a Modern British Admiral. (I know it's supposed to be Major-General, but this is the navy)
ReplyDeleteSO SHINY
ReplyDeleteLooking cool man haha LOL@Astronomy pirate
ReplyDeletein the navy....
ReplyDeletenice party, they look detailed
ReplyDeleteVery cool assembly of Royal Navy figurines. They actually look battle ready. You did an excellent job.
ReplyDeleteThese are just so very cool.
ReplyDeleteVery cool details on those guys. The rifles look a bit huge though
ReplyDeleteVeryy nice! you have a sweet collection man
ReplyDeleteNice work!
ReplyDeleteThe poses are very dynamic, and suggestive of action rather than showy. I can imagine they'd look great on the table too. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteHow do you store all of these when you're not using them?
ReplyDeleteDamn !!! Another great work !! You are a Paint-Machine -)
ReplyDeletethey look amazing man ! keep up the great work
