20mm Painted WW2 British Royal Navy Shore Party.

A WW2 British royal navy shore party from Elheim figures http://www.elhiemfigures.com/british_63.html , consisting of : 1 RN officer with revolver, 1 RN rating with Lancaster SMG and 4 RN ratings with SMLE in square rigs.
These will look good among all the khaki fighting the Germans for my What If? Operation Sealion skirmish game, will need to find a Royal Navy admiral type figure as I have just found a WREN (Women's Royal Naval Service) figure from the SGTS' Mess range of figures to add to the masses.

Some pictures with some size comparison shots included.

L to R, Lamercraft, SHQ, Grubby Tanks and Lamercraft

  1. Some nice looking figures. Always like the RN blue in my own colonial games as got a bit sick of Khaki

  3. For that authentic look, make sure the WREN is serving the Admiral a cup of tea!

And your jack tars should get an extra Morale bonus if they've had their grog ration!

  6. Nice minis, 20mm? That's a bit of an unusual scale no?

  7. @Dr.Willett's Workshop: One of the most popular scales in plastic in the beginning because of Airfix, Matchbox etc.....

  20. @Dangerous Brian: I want the initial games to be a mix of miniatures, civilians, home guard, regulars, tankers etc.....to give the feel of everyone together to throw them back into the sea.

  21. So uh, those trees appear to be made out of some sort of plant or hemp?

  24. Great work on these, I never could figure out how anyone could hold their hand still long enough to make these things.

  25. Those look great! You're probably the second person ever to have painted those up. I again must advise that you seek out the FAA range for Home Guard characters, ARP wardens and suspicious-looking nuns.

20mm is hardly an unusual scale when you consider the amount of stuff available - Norwegian infantry, Japanese paratroopers and Dutch 6-veld guns for example.

  29. These are the best figures you've put on your blog so far, the painting is absolutely fantastic, they are truly superb, they don't look like they're that much of a complicated paintjob but boy, they defiantly hit the spot, did you paint them??

  30. Dang those look pretty awesome!!!!

  31. Look good.
Where these guys saw action in the War?

  32. I really like the Sealion premise. Are you going to paint up some Fifth Columnists to cause troubles with your brave defenders?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow, I love the texture on those trees in the background!

    Can I touch it?

    Can I?

    Can I?

  37. Unusual figures to see on a Wargames Table but will fit the bill for your What If scenario where no doubt Blighty will have to throw everyone into the conflict to defend from the Hun
