....plus transport.
28mm Games Workshop Valkyrie posing as a 15mm transport (it will eventually have 15mm DOE gunships for support) for my NSF platoon using Khurasan federal figures, there's talk about the new power in the NSF and it's expansion into the cosmos....more to come and the NSF like it big and loud!
The colour used is vallejo Russian green (rare paint now, so rare they don't make it any more), still trying to go with the minimalist palette for regular forces.....
Seriously but lately my awful picture taking and my funk are getting to me but here are some pictures I apparently took.......
Very good stuff, Fran.
ReplyDeleteThat is a amazing ground attack there and wonderful force Fran, Great paintjob on them
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnd I really dig your quote in the header. That is one of my favorite movie lines.
They look great Fran and pics came out good!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Very nice Fran, I wondered where my last pot of Russian green went!!!!
ReplyDeleteNice job! I like the transport!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff, will they bring socialism to pesky aliens too?
ReplyDeleteWith a big stick!
DeleteMoscow is most pleased!!!
ReplyDeleteVallejo only changed the name of Russian Green. It is now called "Camo Olive Green" but still has the same part number.
Good stuff! Keep 'em coming!
-Kyle
The colour changed though...
DeleteThey look damm good. Love the dropship too.
ReplyDeleteHandy looking force you've got there, Fran ;)
ReplyDeleteThat Valkyrie really fits well with that force.
ReplyDeletewow great job, armed to the teeth.
ReplyDeleteLooks good Fran, the Gunship works really well at your 15mm scale!
ReplyDeletenice, and that Valkyrie is awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking force. You keep me wanting to switch (or add) to 15mm gaming.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, do you ever get to game with these forces you show us?
Not in a while but very soon!
DeleteI like these a lot Fran. Now that I've ventured into the 15mm realm I have a better appreciation for them. Did you make that display map? If so that is brilliant my man!
ReplyDeleteNo mate came like that....
DeleteIt is looking good. I would say that the transport is something worth using the rarest of the rare paints on.
ReplyDeletenice work Fran such a pitty that Vajello changed the paint. seems like a stupid idea if you ask me... anyway those soviets look ready to beat people to a pulp for the people :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Generalissimo!
ReplyDeleteLooks "Proper" to me Brother, with that 32MM model used as an appropriate scale for the 15MM force shown. It works.
ReplyDeleteNice work Fran
ReplyDeleteLook at that epic-ass space ship thing!
ReplyDeleteNice one mate. The mix of scales works very well. It gives it a great platoon lift capability. Bit of a Martini Moment " Any time, any place, any where!"
ReplyDeleteJust checked, you're right... those BASTARDS!
ReplyDelete-Kyle
Nice stuff.
ReplyDeleteHey Fran,
ReplyDeleteonce again a great paintjob. I like yor 15mm Sci-Fi-Stuff a lot. Keep it up!
Cheers
Monty
Interesting colour; but I like it. Great work!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! and the valkyrie works great in a 15mm scale. I like the new blog look- and the quote at the top, one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteNice, the red stars are a nice touch
ReplyDeleteBrilliant. Awesome looking army.
ReplyDeleteNice work mate, love the command group. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat job Fran, you will be pleased to know Vallejo still holds stocks of Russian Green in NZ...Its the end of the world don't you know.
ReplyDeleteModel on!
Very good work Fran. The drop ship looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteJob's a good 'un, Fran... as usual!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing you paint in larger scales Fran and the ship looks smashing. Now snap out of that funk you silly man or I'll send someone over to tickle your arse with a feather.
ReplyDeleteCracking work Fran, they look great!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking force the Valkyrie fits in with them quite well.
ReplyDeletethey look great and the valkyrie matches in well
ReplyDeleteFigures and ship look top notch. Being still in a semi funk myself all I can say is I hope you feel better soon. Maybe thrashing Ray at game would help.
ReplyDeleteThat transport looks great, Fran.
ReplyDeletethat transport... rocks!
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame they don't make the Russian green anymore. How the hell are you supposed to play out the original Red Dawn in minature?
Those look awesome!
ReplyDeleteThese look absolutely tremendous and the gunship just seems to fit perfectly. Making me think about another project now!
ReplyDeleteI love when you go sci fi, Lurk!
ReplyDeleteBad ass.
ReplyDelete-J
Looks good, I have some Russian Green, should I put it on e-bay LOL
ReplyDeleteIan
Since we only ever see you paint 15mm it is amazing what you can do on the larger scales here mate! Amazing! Great work on it, very clean paint job on a large model! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteA great paint work, Fran; very nice force.
ReplyDeleteI would love a space marine set for decorations, unfortunately I can't paint to save my life.
ReplyDeleteThey look pretty incredible!!
ReplyDeleteI love the glossy armour on these guys. Actually, the hull of the Valkyrie looks pretty much in scale with the 15s...
ReplyDeleteamazing as always Fran
ReplyDeleteGreat figs, love the minimal colours, its really working a treat for you. That Valk actually looks in scale now!
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to do 15mm SciFi for ages. Next year we'll see if I can prise the Lad away from Blood Bowl and Vikings for a little while - I'll definitely be showing him your efforts as a demonstration of the awesomeness that be be had :-)
What rules are you going to use?
That's brill Fran! :)

Well, after 60 comments it's hard to chime with anything other than a "Holy crap!", but there it is. As always you continue to humble and inspire equally.

To be honest:
ReplyDeleteThe Valkyrie totally fits into this whole Scenery. It probably needs to be converted a bit, but it could act as some kind of Transall or C-130 as those units also drop masses of paratroopers (around 30 or so ;-D) Great stuff!
