A mixture of White Dragon Miniatures, Khurasan and GZG, these are the forces being designed to meet the alien threat to earth (although I do think aliens lock their doors when they go past) or to take and help humanity to the stars!

This was my bonus round entry to the painting challenge here , you needed to show something that screamed "Reconnaissance"so I came up with these offerings!

These are part of a much larger US force that will be my normal entry Tuesday.

Painted a while ago and to be honest they are more scenery than anything as they have a real life conventional range of 18km but I like them, not the right version as well but they'll do me.Added some 15mm extras from the bitz box and there you go.......


They need some markings at a later date, the US one is painted Tallarn Sand from GW and the Idf pair are Sinai grey from the Vallejo model air range (lots of coats). Not a bad kit compared to some of the others in the range but the eyesight is fading and the 2 foot rule is in effect........


The M109 is an American 155mm self-propelled howitzer, first introduced in the early 1960s. It has been upgraded a number of times, most recently to the M109A7. The M109 family is the most common western indirect-fire support weapon of maneuver brigades of armored and mechanized infantry divisions.

The M1126 Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICV) is an armoured personnel carrier and part of the Stryker family of vehicles (derived from the Canadian LAV III/Swiss MOWAG Piranha IIIH 8x8) used by the United States Army.

Some more forces for the US boys, resin and metal from Khurasan and not bad at all, gone with GW Tallarn Sand as basecoat and stanby for us colour, can change now! 15mm Khurasan infantryman for some scale.......

15mm US M1A2 SEP Abrams Main Battle Tank.......

 The M1A2 System Enhancement Package (SEP) is a successor to the M1A2. It is also an upgrade package for the older Abrams tanks. It has improved armor protection, improved system components, improved computer components, and some other improvements. First upgraded tank was delivered in 1999.

Nice pieces of resin and metal kits from Khursasan but very fecking fiddly to put the top pieces together but still a nice piece of kit!

15mm Modern Painted US Oshkosh HEMTT....

.... (Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck) from QRF Models and a damaged Humvee from Peter Pig!

Bought this model from QRF a while ago with a few other pieces including a M1A2 which I refuse to show, the Oshkosh model is a beast but I had a lot of problems with it as not completely cast or formed especially the wheels and undercarriage but finally with some angry bodging got it to stay together but the paint job shows a lack of interest on my part but still an impressive beast......

.......16 tons, 8 wheels, nearly 34 feet long, capable of 62 mph and nicknamed the Dragon Wagon!

15mm Painted IrishSerb's US Marine AAV-7A1's.

It's been a cluster feck of a day, the area manager who wasn't scheduled to come down today came down  and we spent the last 4 hours doing verbal and numerical test exams for his new job he's applying for within the company and my head is fecked along with his and he went and I have a fecking headache and I'm fecking stressed and not even applying for the fecking job.....

These are a lovely pair of 15mm vehicles and come from IrishSerb's Miniatures, all resin, 4 parts, no imperfections at all, a real joy and I know I need to paint the guns (MK19 grenade launcher and .50-cal browning machine gun), possibly do something with the tracks, maybe some markings but I wargame them so I'm not too worried and will try to do some of this at the weekend I hope....

Postie needs his stash escorted this weekend at Skirmish 2012 Wargaming and Modelling show at Sidcup, it's near and won't take long as it's quite a small show, have a good weekend if you can people.....

15mm Painted Peter Pig US Marine EOD Team.

The Hurt Locker was on again last night and while it's a very watchable movie it wasn't a six oscar movie, this is my EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) team for my marine platoon for Franonia, the pictures aren't great but they're not bad up close........I hate taking pictures!
