15mm Modern MDF GameCraft Miniatures Parking Structure.....

....or my shenanigans with PVA glue, some scale and size pictures as well, it's not painted yet but a lovely piece though!

I got a few pieces of GameCraft (good service) due to selling some figures and terrain, most of the items didn't require instructions (don't come with any) but this does and you need to look at the site to see how this goes together (I didn't to begin with and some angry bodging later I rectified some little mistakes), everything fitted together nicely and this piece has many uses for gaming, I've tried to give you some idea of scale if you're contemplating a purchase.

Reminded everyone last night about the clocks going back and I fecking forget to do it myself and I'm up half an hour before I realise I'm up an hour early!

You can add as many floors as you like.....

Vehicle ramps to the above levels.....

Lift doors with Rebel Minis, Khurasan, The Scene and Peter Pig figures....

As they fit on the top floor....

Size picture of the middle floor.....

Some Khurasan sci-fi vehicles on the top floor.....

Next to the lift.....

Larger view of top level.......

1st floor, I think I will leave the levels unglued to allow better access.....

Things that may make Wargamers Cry part 5.......

......in a series of feck knows!

Damn Shiny Blindness!!!!!

So anyway me an Ray are wandering around a show this year and we had talked briefly about getting a board game for the night shifts and the real boredom hours around two in the morning, so we see this stand and had talked about getting the Game of Thrones board game (good reviews, liked the books and the TV series) so we go halves and for reasons unknown to the fecking pair of us we end up with this card game, now Ray bought the item himself and the vendor did throw in something extra but...........

.....it took 6 weeks before we noticed the box cover and that we hadn't played it yet!

The fecking card game.......

The free card pack......

What we really wanted...........

....but maybe what does it matter when this is what I have to work with......

Lurker: Ray!
Lurker: Ray!!
Lurker: For fecks sake wake up!
Ray: What.....where am I?
Lurker: You were sleeping!
Ray: No way...I was resting my eyes!
Lurker: I'll rest them permanently Ironsides, now go do a patrol!
Ray:....but it's cold out there.....and dark!

Proof if it was ever needed!

So looks like eBay then and don't forget British Summertime ends tonight or this morning (clocks go backward and we end up working 13 hours instead of 12)...nice!

15mm Sci-Fi Brigade Models NSF Power Armoured Troops.....

......part of my growing sci-fi Neo-Stalin Federation forces and lots more to come. The models weren't too bad (separate arms that need drilling, I went with angry bodging!) and are the NSF's answer to the colonial marines.

Did a size picture with a Khurasan 15mm figure (the figure plus lots more form the bulk of the forces)......

French Indian War 28mm Skirmish Game- Colonial POV

...or bad day at Blackrock!

Myself and Ray had a skirmish game last Monday after SELWG 2012, it was put on by Postie and was a skirmish raid by Indians on a small town of colonial settlers during the French Indian Wars, this was 1:1 figure skirmish with 20 Indians and 24 settlers present (only 12 settlers were armed).

To see who got initiative first we had to have a duel????............

The story featured our characters, mine been retired Colonel Francis "Bulldog" Lee and Ray's lowlife character Askook!

The duel start.......

The initial set up of the town of Blackrock......

10 paces, turn and fire (roll a D10) and I suffer a mortal wound and would die the next day......fecking hell!

A rifle shot rings out and brings the always ready settlers to their doors and armed, the Mitchell family search for the cause of the shot....

The local pastor holding a wedding ceremony in the old colonial militia blockhouse....

Devious shite Postie contractual shot......

The Webb family stream of out their home to investigate further.....

The initial plan for the settlers is to head to the blockhouse for safety especially women and children, I believed this was the best option with armed men covering.....

The first band of Indians emerge, the rules gave them better chances of killing on the dice and the chance of double moves but reloading would take a turn, the settlers found it harder to hit and had no double move......

The second band using their double move to run towards the town........

Ray's character can be seen brandishing his musket (the big bleeding show off)......

A devastating volley left a member of the Webb family mortally stricken but there was no time to recover the body( Ray later scalped him).....

The race towards the blockhouse continues as women and children are covered by men at the crossroads.....

Ray (Askook the backstabber) and his band attempt to steal the wagon but two braves pay the price......

I step into the fray myself and give a brave both barrels....

"Keep running, leave the livestock".....

The long road and race to safety, 5 settlers had died by this stage......

Askook (Ray) enjoying his arson!

Some settlers have reached the safety of the blockhouse but there is still danger.....

A Mitchell lies dead and scalped........

...but an Indian pays the price......

Most of the civilians have reached the blockhouse but only 4 armed settlers remain but the Indians have stopped their raid and head back towards the woods licking their wounds......

The points were tallied up by Postie, the settlers got points for killing Indians (10 killed) and Indians got points for killing settlers (10, my character survived, I nearly got Ray at one point but he pulled one of his braves in front of him and they took the round), scalping, setting fires, how much supplies they captured etc......

.......and in the end the settlers won by 40 points to 38 (since then there have been several attempts to change the score in favour of the Indians but a win is a win regardless of Indian player shenanigans), the game was good and a few points were raised and sorted, I believe I played the game like somebody who would protect the womenfolk and children but I also believe that the people of this time were a hardy bunch and most women would have been armed or at the very least known how to use muskets. Maybe this could be covered by the picking up of weapons from casualties......a victory out of a tough and good game though!

Angry Lurker Honest Movie Review 88: Taken 2 ( 3 STARS).

"If you liked the first one you'll like this but........ "Angry Lurker Honest Movie Review.

..........and the but was the major problem because the first movies rating was a 15 and this is a 12A (so kids under 12 can see it but have to be accompanied by an adult), this meant virtually no blood, no sound when necks were twisted the wrong way and their were a few, there was a decent body count as well but it still felt diluted or dumbed down.

The story follows the families of the bad guys from the original movie trying to exact revenge on our hero and his ex-wife (having more marriage problems) and daughter while on holiday in Istanbul, the kidnappings are put in action with Neeson and his ex-wife captured and the daughter on the run, what follows is over the top, a little far fetched but entertaining because Neeson does more of the same again with ruthless efficiency......

.......but the rating issue and subsequent dumbing down of the violence annoyed me but still worth a watch!

A rating system I once heard.....

A 12 certificate : The hero gets the girl.

A 15 certificate: The bad guy gets the girl.

A 18 certificate: Everybody gets the girl.

Wargames Show with two hours sleep or SELWG 2012!

Posties Rejects last tour date of the year....

Last Sunday I dragged my hairy ass out of bed after 2 hours sleep and after finishing another 12 hour night shift wondering why but then I'm a Wargamer and a show is a show and so the SELWG 2012 slow two step began...

I took a lot of pictures but most of them are all over the sodding place but their are better out there (see some links below first picture but not Ray's), I remained static for a lot of the show with brief bursts of buying (GZG, Painting Supplies and Perry Miniatures the main beneficiaries!) but a lot of it was a blur, I believe I met a lot of people but as it went on the heat and chlorine got to me....

We ended up at the golden arches, made it home and was later shouted at by the family to go to bed as I was acting weird(er).....

......there are a lot of pictures of Ray but maybe that's the lack of sleep or honing my stalking skills, his big head, the bright red top or....?

ClintRayDavid Crook, Postie and Lee in the queue.....

The show was well attended but maybe not as much as last year

A steward spots a problem in red....

Lovely WW2 game from the Crawley boys, I believe it won best in show....

Another lovely piece of WW2 but forgot name..........

Ray yet again seen bothering people.......

....and traders!!

Battle of San Tarzgarotto, First Carlist War 1837 from Redhill Games, this to me was the best in show....

Postie suffering back pain again, Ray said it was his wallet.....

Postie and Ray have a moment......
