Ding Dongs, Twinkies......and The Painting Challenge

Received two blogging wins in the post last week and also have decided to enter the 4th Annual Analogue Hobbies Challenge  after a kind invite from Curt and even with my painting drought/malaise continuing but what the hell...........I have finished in the top ten twice I think but this time it will be in the top 40th or below if I'm lucky with the good job finished and finances stretched but let's see how it goes.........no sandbags here!

This large box turned up from Mellie Mel with just my name and some random persons name by mistake (probably meant my other half which is not Ray as some of you feckers are thinking).......looks like Jay?

Some cards, one might say Pay?........

What a box of sugary goodness..........

Also received these books from Carl when he ran a giveaway and myself and Ray won some books but Ray who was pulled out of the hat first got first choice.........but what's this I've received both book prizes, how did that happen?????

Also Ray has dragged his poor, beautiful, kind, understanding wife into the snoring/sleeping debate by posting this bitstrip on Facebook........such a fecking liar!

BLOG-CON 1....the Reject Road Trip!

Ray: ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz!
Fran: Ray!
Ray: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
Fran: RAY!
Ray: What?
Fran: Stop fecking snoring!
Ray: I can't help it!
Ray: ZZZZZzzzzzzzzz!
Fran: Ray!

The committee (Loki, James and Kev) meet to discuss the snoring and budgie smuggler incident!

Fran: WTF?
Ray: What's wrong?
Fran: Put some fecking clothes on!
Ray: I have (lifting his belly up) and showing the tiniest pair of underwear!
Fran: For fecks sake I've gone blind!
Ray: What's the problem?
Fran: Why are you wearing budgie smugglers?
Ray: What?
Fran: Are they from the childrens department?
Ray: No!
Fran: Put some fecking clothes on...something has winked at me!

Separate rooms next year..........!

The trip up in the car was a five hour endurance test with Ray wanting to punch other drivers in the throat, traffic hold ups, heavy rain, tiredness and a sat nav extracting the urine with it's constant journey arrival times getting less hopeful.....how we laughed!

Getting poisoned by The Flaming Dragon was no picnic either (bloody Ray)........caught a movie, checked out the local wildlife (I feel old)..........our neighbours upstairs were lucky to survive as well!

The 2 day event at Wargames Foundry and for which we attended both days was excellent, the foundry is a bright huge area of shiny goodness, several of the tables already had games set up by several fellow bloggers but by the end of two days I had only managed to play three, Ray managed four, there was so much talking to be done and bitching about Ray obviously as well!

Great event, great people, great games, next year they're thinking of holding it on one day with a dinner afterwards, sounds great to me and if I'm still kicking I'll be there!

What follows is a series of pictures from the event..........

The best game for me was Dave's Wild West town of Serenity game, anything went and was allowed, great set of rules!

Excellent scenery............

Blazing dice and blog whore!

The man Dave himself, great umpire and leader of the pack James!

Ian with his 6mm Napoleonic game wondering when the kick in the crackers would come....

Still wondering.....

Lovely little 6mm goodness.........

Next up was a game of SAGA between myself and Ray, first time we ever played these rules......

Mike tries to explain the SAGA rules to Ray for the seventh time, poor Mike.......

A good game but will need more attempts to master it, I would have won as all I had to do was roll a 5 with 4 dice....no such luck!

Another game of Blazing dice well received.......

The glare from that bald spot.......

Pete Barfield and his excellent VBCW game........

The ninja sect of Morris men.......

Really good game with me playing the Irish boys but James sneaking the win with the box challenge......

The Irish did well and sorted Lee's boys out sharpish.......

Warlord Paul in the distance with his Oldhammer game, should have got pictures......

Ray spending a lot of Posties money, a lot of temptation at this venue.......

Missed lots, didn't play as many games as I would have liked, lots of chatting, bullshitting, shenanigans and people ganging up on Ray and finding out I was right all along!

Roll on next year if I'm still around!

15mm AR:SE Zombie Tanks, Blog-Con, COD:Ghosts and one of the best can openers ever!

Currently feeling like hammered faeces but on my 4th visit to the doctor (like most men I rarely visit a doctor intentionally) and prescribed something with a bit of a kick and told I may have something that I have now forgotten but had a lot of latin in the title I'm feeling a bit better and actually back sleeping, I was worried I wouldn't make blog-con this weekend with the blog whore Ray but hopefully that's not a problem now apart from the medication saying I may feel drowsy (no faeces sherlock) and no fecking alcohol!

One of my favourite rules ever are AKULA's AR:SE zombie rules (2 page genius rules), there are in the rules zombies called tanks "In rare cases, the zombie virus mutates the corpse, into a stronger, more aggressive zombie", they are also hard as feck to kill! In 28mm I found some unique figures to represent tanks but in 15mm I couldn't find anything I liked but I saw some plastic nurglings on ebay and a little bodging later I ended up with these guys to represent the tanks...........

15mm eureka mini to show scale, would have liked the tanks to be bigger but they'll work fine.........

Blog-Con this Saturday folks.........

This arrived yesterday as an early Christmas present from the family.........

What a great can opener.......

.....and I'm now off to load my PS3 game and save the world and piss off all those online gamers!
