A very good friend of mine sent me some pictures of this model I painted for him recently, he has an obsession with the franchise, the model is resin and I thought not that great for the price, he is ordering a base of skulls which I will paint to finish it, I believe it's 1:6 scale.
This model was a bit of a bitch with the size as I had never done this scale before but I think it worked out alright, the pictures are his so I can't be blamed this time, he has included one of Copplestones 28mm predators (which I painted the team for him) as a size and scale reference.
The git has been hinting that one large predator is lonely on it's own and needs to be part of a team and has been searching the bleeding internet recently.
Good job and it's huge!

He's a big mother! Nicely painted, Fran.
ReplyDeleteNice paintjob.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool dude!!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, he needs a team.
ReplyDeleteLove the butt shot.
ReplyDeletegreat looking model
ReplyDeleteooh, love the sofa behind the predator :))
ReplyDeleteGreat paintjob Fran.
ReplyDeletethat is a nice statue, love it.
ReplyDeletehuh!!! s'ok I suppose........
ReplyDeletenow all you need is a 16th scale alien! lol.
ReplyDeleteI want it!
ReplyDeleteThat still scares the crap out of me! Well done!
ReplyDeletehe must work out
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty awesome. Great detail. And Zombie is right, now you need an alien. Or a 16th scale Gary Busey.
ReplyDeleteDez is right as well...love the sofa.
LOL thats awesome hope he finds you a brother todo that looks great
ReplyDeleteThat right there is a pretty good job. I like this one!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's my favourite movie and i wanna one of this!!!

ReplyDeleteLooks great Fran, love the work on the skin. Looks like you'll be doing more!
ReplyDeleteso cool, great movie and awesome figure!
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty cool. I could never have the patience to paint one of those.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive. Both the model and your paint job.
ReplyDeleteNice model I barely noticed you snuck the tiny one in.
ReplyDeletePretty damn nice!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. My husband would love this.
ReplyDeletethis reminds me how awesome the Predator is, then I get sad thinking about those horrible new flicks they throw him =/
ReplyDeleteSize comparison is amazing. Almost as much as the detail.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll get an Alien skull for his collection.
ReplyDeleteMan that's awesome, I wish I had the cash to collect pro stuff like this.
ReplyDeleteHe would look better with a squad =D
That's a great paint job -- I imagine that 1:6 would be very unforgiving in some respects, in that more "impressionistic" techniques that work well on very small figures wouldn't necessarily work when painting something larger like this. Well done!
ReplyDeleteAnything Predator, I'm a fan.
ReplyDeleteSearch the Internet all he likes, the world's best Predator statuette images are here on The Angry Lurker blog, and the value more than doubles with a good paintjob. Google images will confirm that for years to come.
ReplyDeleteits looks pretty awesome!
ReplyDeletewhich one is the miniature? Would love minitaure close up shot.
ReplyDeleteThis is real awesome. The predator is pretty cute and totally artistic. Cant appreciate enough.
FUCK YEAH! thats awesome.
ReplyDeleteThat's so badass. I've actually just finished playing AVP and this was pretty cool to see right after. Loved the models. Humanoid but massive.
ReplyDeleteVery nice paint, impressive work. I wonder if there are any of the older predator kits around with the shoulder mounted weapon they were sweet. I saw one at a model show about 14 years ago where some wild man used fiber-optics and a laser so it had the 3 beams of the targeting array lit.
ReplyDeleteI always liked working big, it allows you to really pick out details and add widgets like lights, etc. I am not sure which I would rather work on at that scale, resin or vinyl. Resin is sturdier (well some types of resin) but vinyl allows you to add things under the skin however it needs some reinforcement if the environment gets too hot it tends to sag.
Awesome statue-sized model of one of my personal all time favorite monsters.
ReplyDeleteThe predator is awesome. +followed
