A modern US marine platoon consists of normally 42 men, 3 squads of 13 men divided into 3 fireteams of 4 men and a squad leader and a platoon headquarters element of a platoon commander, platoon sergeant and a navy corpsman.
Humvees, sniper teams, casualties and medics, AAV-7A1's and air support (probably a cobra gunship) to follow.......
Just as a sidebar, I've had to delete the old blogroll as I couldn't add or delete any blogs, so I've had to go through the nearly 1000 blogs I was following and start adding again, bear with me as this will take a little while and apologies if I missed you at the moment......
The good citizens of Franonian can relax nowing that their boarders are protected by these brave young men!
ReplyDeletegreat looking figures
ReplyDeleteYou're following 1000 blogs? How do you find time to do anything else?
ReplyDeleteNicely painted figures, by the way.
My Humvee has a missile launcher mounted on the roof. I love America...
ReplyDeleteNice work there Angry. IMHO, camo from any country, any time period is the hardest thing to paint. Great job with these.
ReplyDeleteGreat job there fellah!
ReplyDeleteExcellent little platoon, and im liking that camo. Well done
ReplyDeleteNice. I'm liking that they're defending a castle.
ReplyDeleteThose look great to me!
ReplyDeleteGoing through 1000 blogs..lol..that must take a while. Look great the guys with their fists don't need no stinkin' weapons..haha
ReplyDeleteExcellent!
ReplyDeleteThis platoon looks awesome, kudos!
ReplyDeleteoh, my, Lurk, good luck with the blogroll business :) I see I'm in it as before... :)
ReplyDeleteNice job on those Marines. The camo looks great and what really caught my eye was the goggles. Beautiful job on those. BTW, we don't refer to Navy Corpsmen as "medics". They're Corpsmen, which is short for Hospital Corpsmen. My old job.
ReplyDeleteThe troops are attention-getters! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThese guys look pretty American and modern to me. :D
ReplyDeleteDid you paint every pixel on the MARPAT? That must have taken forever!
ReplyDeleteLovely paint jobs :)
ReplyDeleteYou are building a mini-army here. The cammo is very good; for a certain distance an US Marine is only a moving brown patch so, don´t worrie about the number of pixels.
ReplyDeleteBest regards.
Awesome, my buddy Thomas has tried to pull me into modern warfare. Very tempting "period" after having rewatched Generation Kill just recently.
ReplyDeleteYes, but do you have a flag?
ReplyDeleteI do, I'll have to drag it out of the cupboard!
Deletemodern soldiers defending a castle. is that right? awesome.
ReplyDeleteWow - impressively detailed painting - hard to believe their 15mm! Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteVery nice Fran, some of your best yet!!!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't stop appreciating the details, wonderful. Any UFO miniature for this special day?
ReplyDeleteExcellent results, love the cam...
ReplyDeleteLooking real good!
ReplyDeleteI just love them.
ReplyDeleteThere, I said it
I hear you about the blogroll thingy. I stopped updated mine 'cause it was so hard to.
ReplyDeleteSuperwork Fran. Nice too see some fairly moderns on the table.
ReplyDeleteThe patterns look great.
I've always thought the marines were the coolest of the US military.
ReplyDeleteamazing work dude!
ReplyDeleteMMB is back by the way: http://moviemonstrosityblog.blogspot.com/2012/02/bullhead-in-us-theaters-soon-machete.html
A fine platoon -- they look like the kind of guys who really mean business.
ReplyDeleteNicely done Fran they are quite characterful for 15mm which surprised me to be honest
ReplyDeleteCool stuff, look forward to the extras
ReplyDeleteThey.. look pretty decent.. uh.. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteI'm just still dumbstruck at that number. 1000 blogs? I don't care if it's spot on or if it's 939, that's WAY TOO MUCH. How do you do that?! D=
I won't steal your thunder Fran but congratulations on something well deserved.
ReplyDeleteReally nice Fran and your steadily racking up points!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
1000!! i start getting twitchy when mine creeps above 300...respect to your blog commitment!
ReplyDeleteVery nice work. The machismo oozes off those figures. I'd have to say with over 1000 blogs, I'm honored to have even one comment from you on my little sites.
ReplyDeleteReally like the more modernish take on those, don't see that too often.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved these minis, these must easily be PP best range and best sculpts, sooo much character, these are on my do get list for sure, I really like how you have painted them, colors look right as does the camo pattern, great job TAL !
ReplyDeletePS are there a couple of dudes in there with black skin or did you just miss painting them ?
1000 blogs holy crap. I thought my 350 was difficult to manage.
ReplyDeleteThe only hurdle to accessing this is of course human limitations and the
ReplyDeletefact that the brain does not function solely as a learning tool for the human being.
