I've done a guest post (my first) for Mel over at !No,really, you can eat it! and she should post it soon (next Monday or Tuesday I believe), I have been asked before but I don't believe I have anything worth saying, her request was for something chef related back in my wilder days!
I will hopefully be doing a little give away on the 23rd of July (my blogs 2nd birthday) with a unique little item I hope........
Thanks very much for the reading, visiting and the commenting over the last 23 months.........
......and now for the example.
Lovely piece of kit (paint brush holder) that I bought at Salute from Oshiro Terrain, my only gripe would be that all the holes should be slightly bigger!
With brushes inserted.......
....this has been my brush staple for several years and quite functional, bonus points if you can name the TV series on the mug!
So why did I buy the shiny thing, was it that I had been in the Salute queue for quite a while (35 minutes), was it because my money was burning a hole in my pocket, was it because it was my 17th or so stand to browse and buy nothing or was it Shinybloodyitis!!!!!!
I give up and I'll see you in ten, probably try to drop by and read a few blogs though, it'll depend on the SWMBO and her nefarious plans to fill my time!
Oh I DO like the brush stand! It's been a while since I painted anything but would have loved this back in my art school days.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your guest post over at Mel's place!
I have cheated and asked my husband about the TV show on the mug. He says: Ashes to Ashes.
He's on the right track but no!
DeleteDamn!
DeleteLife on Mars!
DeleteMarzio.
Nice new brush holder. Mine, unfortunately, is quite similar to your old one.
ReplyDeleteAlso, congrats on another blogging milestone.
Nice one on the 350k and I told you not to buy that bloody thing!!
ReplyDeleteYou fecking liar, you wanted me to buy two!
DeleteNice rack! No...wait...that didn't sound right...
ReplyDeleteDAmmit! I wuz gonna say that :D
DeleteThe stand looks good, and the ex-brush holder is it British soap opera? I dont think I would know.
ReplyDeleteDidnt know that you did Guest posts, would you do one roast for me? If I need to irk you, if I havent already
"PAMELA IS UGLY, HER HAS FAKE BOOBIES" - Enough?
Bitch!!!!!!
Delete;) ouch
DeleteCan't wait to see your guest post over at Mel's!
ReplyDeleteLife on Mars.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all the hits. I won't say anything about your rack. Seems like a touchy subject. I like the mug better.
Have a fantastic holiday. And don't choke on your energy drinks.
Thanks for the concern Tim!
DeleteNice...now I wish I had decided on a day. OK...anyone reading this, IT WILL BE POSTED ON TUESDAY. Come on over!
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday :-)
ReplyDeletePS: I'd bet you'd even miss old Ray.
ReplyDeleteNo way Jose!
DeleteEnjoy your time off mate!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the holiday; we all need em. You'll miss Ray. Your co-dependency is painfully obvious.
ReplyDeleteenjoy the vacation! :)
ReplyDeleteHi mate, have a good hols away from Ray, gosh you need it, lol.
ReplyDeleteThe TV series is Life on Mars its it?
I'll check out the guest post when its up. Enjoy the time off!
ReplyDeleteGOOD LUCK oh and I hope that your old paintbrush holder finds use as tea holder for when your painting and need a drink at the same time
ReplyDeleteSome of your paintbrushes are in poor condition. I think you need to overcome shinybloodyitis by purchasing some new brushes. And while you are at it, you may need some new paint, because we always need more paint. And, some greenstuff. And DAS clay. And some more brass wire...it is always good to have brass wire...and some more glue...yes, glue is always good, too. ...and heck, go all in and get some bases, just because you never know when they might come in handy...
ReplyDeleteThanks mate....
DeleteEnjoy your holiday Fran!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Phil.
Enjoy your break from Ray, I'm from the "Mug" school personnaly, I don't think these racks addd much.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break mate! I actually like the brush stand, but the LoM mug has a certain class of its own though.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen the US version of LoM? It's not as good as the original, but worth getting and once it stops trying to follow the British plots, it actually gets quite good. Harvey Keitel doesn't really work as Gene Hunt... but for about £12 it's worth it imo... I actually preferred it to 'Ashes to Ashes'.
All so shiny and new... :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the hits. The brush holder, err. thats a miss from my view LOL
ReplyDeleteIan
Life on Mars I reckon. Have a great holiday.
ReplyDeleteI thought you two were siamese twins joined at the hip?
ReplyDeleteCongratz on the hits mate and enjoy the holiday!
Ahhh sweet precious shiny things. I don't know where I'd be without them. It looks like it holds your brushes just fine, but that could be just what it looks like. Enjoy your time off. I don't know too much about Ray but it does seem prolonged exposure requires breaks.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 350k Fran and enjoy the break from work - we all know you'll be missing Ray really :)
ReplyDeleteWell done on the 350K Fran. Have a good break.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time off Fran!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am certain you will miss Ray... You are like night and day... one needs the other! :-P
Enjoy the time off and congratulations on the hits! Will look for your guest post next week.
ReplyDeletehave a nice time off, Lurk! Make us proud by doing positively nothing but eating and sleeping :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice sir! I think I need to go find a brush stand like yours this weekend. Painting models for more than 20 years, I'm still storing my brushes in a coffee mug! (blush).
ReplyDeleteJust one little thing, if you have brush cap or cut up straw, try to store the brushes hair side down. This way you can let the water residual run away from the brush. Help keep your expensive brushes last longer.
Best wishes,
VS
Hey, getting a little organized can't be all bad. Congrats on the milestone and the views. One can only dream of reaching such heights.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the humongous total of hits Fran! Enjoy the break!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the hits and yeah going nowhere can be fun sometime, enjoy.
ReplyDeleteawesome! have a good vacation, be sure to go to a beach, and to take pics of hot chicks, but dont like your wife catch you, if u do get caught blame it on ray and his disgusting habits :D
ReplyDeleteHavea great holiday
ReplyDeleteThat's a very shiny item indeed
Well done Fran, always great fun to read your blog. Nice Brush rack the old one was better imo
ReplyDelete"Gene Hunt. Your DCI. And it’s 1973. Almost dinner time. I’m having hoops."

Cheers
paul
PS..another good phrase was; "Anything happens to this motor and I come over your houses and stamp on all your toys. Got it?"

ReplyDeleteJason
Nice work on the guest post and enjoy the time off brotha!
ReplyDeleteI have a brush holder, but not as big and the overflow is in a can so that looks pretty useful! Enjoy your time off!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
I'd be inclined to stick with the mug, takes up less space on the painting desk! ...Enjoy your break mate
ReplyDeleteCongrats on general excitement. I'd go one by one but you've got a lot being done!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your time have a nice day sir
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the break! I think I'll be gone by the time you get back though.

Congratulations!! Enjoy your holiday and spend as much time as you can with the SWMBO as the woman you love is more important than blogger will ever be.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, dude! I've been away, myself, from the world of blogging. You have a lelluva nice brush holder. Each brush has different widths of... well... brush. I can't name the show on the cup, though. and I'm too lazy to check through all the previous comments to see who named it right (if they could, in fact). Hope you had a great holiday, man. Take care
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your hols, Fran! Congrats on all the hits.
ReplyDeleteHa, i use a cup sometimes, they have these canvass brush holders, but it nesseciates spending hours cleaning the brushes of white spirits. I just use washing up liquid. That tiny red one makes me realise you must spend hours on the fiddly bits.
ReplyDeleteAnd its D.I Hunt from Life on Mars.
