My friend Vinnie rather sneakily caught me in a good mood (we were in Burger King) and handed me a box and asked a favour...........
.....the favour turned out to be the Tamiya 1:35 British Universal Carrier Crew and weapons (he said he'll paint the vehicle himself) but the crew I sorted because he's a friend!
1:35 scale is approx 54mm scale........
They look pretty good. I think I'd ask you to paint for me but it's also because I can't paint.
ReplyDeleteReally nice. Been a long long time since I built a Tamiya kit. I used to droll over their yearly catalogues :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice.
ReplyDeleteNow, I have a favour, a Double Whopper and a lead mountain...
I like them.
ReplyDeleteOoo nice mate.. Hoping it turns out good for you, and the "friend" picks up the tab next time you run into him at Burger King ;)
ReplyDeleteVery nice Fran!!!! Vince will be pleased!
ReplyDeleteexcellent work. I don't think I could be this detailed.
ReplyDeleteNice work!
ReplyDeleteThe contrast of the miniatures is really good.
Great Job Fran; I always wanted one of these when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteThey're really well done for 1/35th, which is not an easy shift from 15mm and 28mm.
ReplyDeleteAs a teen I used to make the odd Tamiya kit in 1/35th... I was looking at them the other day and couldn't believe how much they are now.
Nice one mate. They look good I am sure Vince will be very pleased .... until you hand him the bill! JK
ReplyDeleteIt'll have to be in installments!
Deletehe loves me LOL
DeleteWow great job, really brought them to life
ReplyDeleteLooking good !!!
ReplyDeletebest regards Michael
Very nice, Fran. I have also an old Tamiya kit waiting its moment of glory...

ReplyDeleteThese lads look a bit like Dad's Army.
ReplyDeleteLovely, especially the rifles.
ReplyDeleteNice work, Supreme General. You masterful handling of paint and brush is renowned the world over!
ReplyDeleteThey look great! Did he get you a Burger King crown as well?
ReplyDeleteStop it!

ReplyDeleteBest,
Phil.

I like that that one guy gets to stand around smiling while the other guys work. Mustaches have their privileges, apparently.
ReplyDeleteinteresting pieces, Lurk
ReplyDeleteNiiiiiiiiiiice work!
ReplyDeleteOfficer" I say old beans...what have you chaps done to your wrists!?" Cut to Frankie Howard looking into camera.
ReplyDeleteNice work.
Cheers

ReplyDeletenice, hope he doesn't sell them now ;-)
ReplyDeletewell done fran and beat the crap out of him if he is not 100% satisfied with the result.
ReplyDeleteExcellent looking crew and weapons - your skills translate well to any scale. I loved 1:35th Tamiya stuff when I was a kid - brings back great memories. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteVery nice Fran. The uniforms especially look spot on.
ReplyDeleteExcellent work.
ReplyDeleteCracking work there Fran
ReplyDeleteSpot on Fran, nice painting
ReplyDeleteThe first miniatures i ever bought were a Tamiya kit, they were painted horribly and based with rocks but by god my nine year old self played with them everyday ! These look phenomenally better than mine, can't wait to see the carrier itself
ReplyDeleteNice work Fran good tones and shading. Will this just be a display piece or a gaming model?
ReplyDeleteWell done; it's nice to paint some of the bigger figures from time to time.
ReplyDeleteI think he will be very happy with those Fran!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
54mm!!! I am impressed-they look fantastic Fran. I'm late because I've had the day from hell and it's not over yet.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteThey look a bit pale, but that might just be the lightning.
ReplyDeleteNice work Fran! They look really good. I need friends like you! I always end up painting their stuff instead.
ReplyDeleteMy brother has a wardrobe full of Tamiya kits at our parents' place, which he won, over a number of years, through the model making club he was in. Takes me back to his childhood and my adolescence.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff, especially considering the figures are a little dated. Can't wait to see them alongside the carrier!

Stunning painting Fran!
ReplyDeleteThese guys look great! The more I look at models done in the larger sizes, the more I like them.
ReplyDeleteLove the details on these guys, and nice touch with the forest background.
ReplyDeleteLooks just like the box art.
ReplyDeleteSpot on Francis. Top class.
ReplyDeletea new scale?? You paint 1/35 too? God, mate you're good at everything! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures. Love the background.
ReplyDeleteYou would swear they were alive- they're so life like. Great work!
