Top 10 Movie Countdown Blogfest........

.........Alex.J.Cavanaugh invited other blogs to his blog hop to simply list your 10 favourite movies.....so I did!

In no particular order and a list that might be different next week or even tomorrow but ten movies that I can watch again and again.......

                                                          10. Dead Man's Shoes.

One of the best revenge movies....ever!

9. Lucky Number Slevin.

Another great revenge movie.

8. The Wind and the Lion.

Worth it alone for the scene with the marines....brilliant!

7. Freebie and the Bean.

A great but silly buddy cop movie.

6. Midnight Sting.

The only movie ending that has ever made me cheer!

5. No country for old men.

A bleak look at modern times...........

4. Yojimbo.

Mifune and Kurosawa at their best, remade several times with Clint Eastwood and Bruce Willis playing the Mifune role......

3. Kingdom of Heaven (Directors Cut)

An okay movie until the extra 40 odd minutes were added and then became a brilliant movie.....

2. Judge Dredd.

Not the fecking Stallone one but the Karl Urban one.....

1. I Went Down.

Low budget Irish brilliance..........

Now I've forgotten, Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, LA Confidential,

  4. I think Kingdom of Heaven is the only one of those I've seen but I'm interested in the new Dredd movie.

  5. Not only have I not seen any of these - I've one even heard of one before. I'm intrigued by Kingdom of Heaven now that you say it went from meh to brilliant with the additional 40 minutes.

  6. Not that's a list. First one that I have come across where I don't know most of these movies. I need to broaden my horizons.

  7. Excellent choice on "The Wind and the Lion" - Brian Keith is superb as Teddy Roosevelt!

My list would have a few more Coen Brothers films including "O Brother Where Ought Thou?" and "Miller's Crossing"

I do have to say I'm a bit surprised to see "Judge Dread 3D" on the list but then again I have no taste for the finer things in life...

    :)

  15. Wind and the lion AND freebie and the bean. Since half the commentors haven't seen them, does that mean we are becoming old? I better start to practice screaming " you kids get offa my lawn!"

  16. I've only heard of one that actually made the list but Fight Club, now that is an awesome flick!!!

  19. Nice list Fran, I might have to google some of these

  20. Some really great picks in there

  21. Top ten lists will always be subjective. Your choices differ very wildly to mine but so what? It would be a very dull world if we all agreed on the same things. Vive la difference!

  22. I will echo Vampifans words. While I can't criticise your choices in any way, they are your choices and not mine. I will say I am disappointed that no cowboy films made the cut!

  23. In the short time I've been reading you.. yeah. This looks like your list alright. I like what I've seen.

  24. I too have not seen a single one of these, and I've only heard of one of them previously - Kingdom of Heaven. ;)

  25. I have not heard of your #10 or #1 movies…a first on the sites I have visited for this hop. I loved No County and almost no one else I know liked it. Guess I am a Coen fanatic! Slevin was good with so much talent in it and sorry, but I like the Stallone Dredd J

    Like you 3 alternatives too!

  26. Just dropping by from the blog hop. Clearly, I have to expand my "to watch" list because I haven't seen a number of movies that are on your list.
