Andrew"Loki" Saunders painted these figures for me after I won a competition prize on his blog for 5 historical miniatures to be painted for the winner, as you can see these are slightly not historical and Andrew was
Johnny Alpha, The Gronk and Wulf Sternhammer!
Slaine MacRoth - Mighty black-haired Irish warrior exiled from the Sessair tribe for having an affair with the chief's fiance Niamh, the axe is called Brainbiter!.
The mighty Judge Dredd in an unsanctioned department issue test colour uniform, it may not get approval.
Thanks Andrew, more quality painters work added to the cabinet!
Promoting a couple of giveaway as well on some other blogs..............
Millsy over at Canister and Grape is celebrating 50,000 hits with some lovely items (I want the figure)......
The Ferret is celebrating 200.000 hits with 11 items up for grabs................
So support the guys and good luck to all except Ray and BigLee because one is a git and the other is already too rich!
Awesome! I have to say, Brainbiter is such a badass name for an axe.
ReplyDeleteThanks boys!
DeleteDredd looks good! You know, in three thousand years those figures will be historical...
ReplyDeleteVery true Alex.
DeleteFabulous brushwork by Andrew - as always. I love 'em all, but Johnny Alpha is really eye-catching - the pose and the colors are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHe's got talent does Loki!
Deletevery nice figures. Everyone will have a favourite. Slaine for the painting but Gronk in the comics. I can taste the nostalgia when I breathe in deeply enough.
ReplyDelete....and it smells good my friend!
DeleteGreat work Francis , excellent paint .
ReplyDeleteThanks Vincent.
DeleteYou lucky chap, they really are splendid.
ReplyDeleteI think the word is jammy?
DeleteIf you think about it, Judge Dredd is from the future and is technically an historical figure, or will be one one day at least. I loved Judge Dredd but I didn't know much about other 2000AD comics. Actually for a while I thought Judge Dredd was the only comic they had.
ReplyDeleteHe started in 2000AD but before that Starlord I believe?
DeleteDredd has only appeared in 2000AD (but only from the 2nd prog though). It was Strontium Dog that first started in Starlord.
DeleteMatt (comic anorak).
Thanks Matt the anorak:P
DeleteCool figs there Angry. Congrats on the win!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate!
DeleteThat Slaine model is pretty hot. I keep hearing about 2000 AD, I'm going to have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteFMB
Early stuff is the best FMB!
DeleteThe 'Haunting of Sector House 13' is great if you can find it. I can't believe that that story is 30 years old!
DeleteExcellent story!
DeleteAwesome. I had no idea there was a 2000AD line.
ReplyDeleteQuite a huge line as well!
DeleteThat's some fine-looking prize material you won there.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed mate!
DeleteDredd looks ready to kick some arse
ReplyDeleteReady and able Pat.
DeleteYou sir are a lucky man
ReplyDeleteIan

ReplyDeleteThanks mate for those kind words you arse monkey!
DeleteNice models. Dredd is cool.. so these must be very cool!
ReplyDeleteYou said it man!
DeleteWow what a great prize . . . And im impressed by the likeness of myself and Slaine McRoth. Must have found a pi of be online? ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou're too modest Paul.
DeleteIt's a brilliant Judge Dredd, Fran, and I love the base too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dez!
DeleteGreate looking minis!!! Congratulation!
ReplyDeleteBest regards Michael
Nice one Michael.
DeleteReally nice set of figures there mate. I particularly like the black haired Irish bloke with white hair (?) - reminds me of how I looked in my younger days (except without the axe and I did usually wear jeans and a T-shirt . . . .)
ReplyDelete...but essentially a carbon copy of your youth!
DeleteMy big brother passes his progs onto me and I pass them onto my younger brother. Spundig vur Thrigg.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear Tony!
DeleteGreat painting Francis. I love that dude with the blue war paint. All these giveaways I feel like starting one myself at 50mm gameroom...
ReplyDeleteAren't you the lucky one; Loki knows his brush. I'm glad you want the figures, less competition for the real prize, the painted miniature.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome mate!
DeleteFine collection of painted minis, General. Only the best make it into your gilded display case.
ReplyDeleteI am picky!
DeleteAll great work but Slaine MacGowan is my favorite! If I had muscles like that, perhaps the Mrs. couldn't keep her hands off me.
ReplyDeleteI know she can't keep her hands off you mate!
DeleteThere lovely Fran you are a lucky boy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon.
Deletegreat looking figures, but Dredd in Red ? - It looks to meet like he's wearing old red long-johns !
ReplyDeleteWell it seems Andrew did you a great turn with these very lovely painted figures!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
He did mate!
DeleteAndrew did a bang up job on these and fantasy is new to him. Me is envious of these :)
ReplyDeleteHe did a fecking good job......
DeleteAh 2000AD,... fond memories of teenage youth...
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to relive mine!
DeleteBrainbiter. I like that!
ReplyDeleteHe used to do it a lot!
DeleteDredd in Red Fran? He may have come out of the closest...Not that there is anything wrong with that...
ReplyDeleteNice attention to details mate.
Thanks Paul.
DeleteVery nice winnings :) and thanks for the plug!
ReplyDeleteNot a problem Mr.Ferret!
DeleteGreatwork, Slaine MacRoth is awesome!
ReplyDeleteFantastic figures. Not sure about a red Dredd though, looks like a Sov-block judge ;)
ReplyDeleteHadn't thought of that but you're right!
DeleteYou are a very lucky man Fran! Very very nice work Andrew!
ReplyDeleteHe's a good lad!
DeleteMethinks there would be much money to be made from ticket sales to when you inform Judge Dredd that he is out of uniform.
ReplyDeleteVery true.......
Delete....but liberating enough to do more?
ReplyDeleteSome beautiful minis for the F. Lee Collection. Lovely, lovely work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Curt!
DeleteThey are really cool figures; the red Dredd is really great!
ReplyDelete....but blasphemous!
DeleteThey look good Fran. Not up enough on JD to know what is wrong with his uniform.
ReplyDeleteIt's always been blue.
DeleteNice figures, Fran - but as a life-long JD fan; no, no ,no no!!!!! etc... ;)
ReplyDeleteYou're right Monty!
Deleteyour a lucky man
ReplyDeleteThanks Gowan, I am.
DeleteHow?
ReplyDeleteAlways, always loved 2000AD and they're my favorite characters (Stainless Steel Rat and DR and the Qunich come close.) As for the Dredd paint job, the noble Judge a Liverpool supporter, NO! I say.
ReplyDeleteDR and Quinch....I'd forgotten them but you're right mate.
ReplyDelete'MIND THE ORANGES MARLON!'
DeleteExcellent memories.
DeleteGood luck winning the one you want!
ReplyDeleteWe can only hope!
DeleteCongrats on the win. I think they're pretty.
ReplyDeleteThey actually are!
DeleteThe Gronk and Slaine and Johnny Alpha. Classic stuff. Oh the memorys.
