15mm Painted "Feku" Spider Mobile Turrets (Walkers) from Antenocitis Workshop.

Picked these up many moons ago but only just recently painted them to go with my Feku (click link for previous madness) alien forces, I placed the legs closer together to get a higher raised effect than normally used with this sculpt and to show exaggerated movement and their ability to stamp on things (hence the redness on the end of the legs), the colour is to keep them in line with the Feku colour scheme.

Nice models, first thing I've painted fully since May, I don't know but the longer you don't paint the harder it is to paint and then the painting skill suffers as well I believe?

Placed a 15mm modern figure from Eureka miniatures to show scale........but hey it's a start!

  2. Nicely done Fran - I'm guessing you didn't use those brushes from Ian for these?

  5. Great looking models. I think painting is a lot like stretching. Really hard to get good at with diligent practice, and really easy to lose when you take time off.

  12. They look great to me mate. I don't think you lose skill as such I think it just takes a little time to get back to the same standard I usually find its the' eye' that you lose.

The word Feku sounds a bit "Austin Powers" Japanese twins..is it so or have i just got a chronic sense of punning?

  27. Oh those are very cool. I believe that painting becomes a habit. Once you break the habit, you fill that time with something else.

  28. I didn't even notice the bloodstains until you mentioned it. What a great detail. And you might be a tad rusty, but I don't think the skill goes away. Same for us writers. I may not write for a while, but when I come back to it, it still comes to me (pretty) naturally.
