15mm MDF Guard Towers for Modern, WW2 gaming........

...........from Impudent Mortal Gaming. Size pics with 15mm Peter Pig miniature but to paint or not to paint?.......

These come in a pack of 6, bought quite a while ago I think? They appear to be ready to go once you build them but do you think they need paint? I was thinking of basing them as well, maybe just a couple?

Easy enough to put together for normal people...........no not me, some of them are a little less than straight...........

  1. They look a bit flat, so I think a little paint would help. Give them a weathered look anyway.

  3. I think you should paint something if you've got it. But if there's an alternative to painting that isn't just leaving it undone looking grim you'd know more about that kind of thing than me.

  5. A good position to see all. They do what they are meant to do.

  6. I would paint them Fran. They're a nice bit of kit and worth the effort. They could also be useful in the Defensive Terrain Theme Round.

  9. Me I would go for painting any time, but I can imagine you not wanting to stick more time in than necessary.

  10. I disagree with painting them. I think they look good as is. But, hey, that's just me.

  13. Nice kit. I would give it wash with a thin coat of dark brown paint then drybrush it with a lighter brown.

  14. While not knowing what the intended use will be it is hard to advise on a paint scheme if any paint at all. I think if it was me I would just dry-brush them grey as wood does tend to turn grey if left to weather.

  15. It looks pretty good. I have the buildings from their latest kickstarter. I have assembled only one of them so far. They are pretty good. I am going to base mine, paint them and generally tart them up a bit. If you base the watchtower, I would paint it for sure.

  16. No paint, my General. If you do that, the prisoners might think that next you'll patch the holes in the top of their tents. Hail Franonia!!

  18. They look like nice kits but would definitely look even better with some paint on them.

  19. Looking very nice indeed, but yes to paint!

  20. They're very decent guard towers but do require a lick of paint for the table-top )even if just to disguise that they're obviously mdf imo.

  21. They look great without painting, Fran. Although maybe basing might be okay - some terrain on the bottom, as well as adding some stability?

  22. This is an awesome miniature set. It actually looks really good without the paint. It looks like more realistic IMO. Very nice additions to the collection.

  23. Nice looking towers Fran. I think you should probably paint them to give a more used effect.

  24. I vote paint to give them a little more life (even if that means making it look old/rusted... that's still what I'd call life) but hey, I'm an idiot, so don't expect me to know what I'm talking about.
