"A fantastic movie with a story as bleak as the scenery" The Angry Lurker
Back doing these reasonably honest and short reviews again, a form of therapy and after a few requests, no rhyme or reason to whether it's the latest release or slightly older but my third love after the SWMBO and the wargaming hobby!
An experienced game ranger finds the frozen body native american woman on the Wind River reservation, the FBI send an inexperienced young agent, these will eventually team up to investigate the woman's death........
Excellent piece of cinema, great performances, a slow boil and an epic stand off scene along the way, grim, bleak but a decent ending.......
Some trivia for you.......
Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) lost four toenails filming the trailer scene.
It took 40 days for the shoot to complete.
Wind River Indian Reservation is the seventh-largest Indian reservation in the U.S.
The film is based on actual events.
Seen it, was OK, not awesome but a good watch
ReplyDeleteThe amount of movies I watch Lately I would be happy with that!
DeleteOk is generally 7/10. Better than not watching a movie
DeleteVery true, Okay relates to popcorn movie, worth the watch!
DeleteVery intense. Renner is superb.
ReplyDeleteHe was indeed!
DeleteHaven't seen this one, on my list to give a go though.
ReplyDeleteWorth the time Pat!
DeleteLooks good, and I have been meaning to watch it.
ReplyDeleteWorth your time I believe!
DeleteOMG the toenails will never grow back! No flipflops for him any more....
ReplyDeleteLuckily for him they grew back but really gnarly!
DeleteLots of drawn handguns in that image! :)
ReplyDeleteStand off in the snow!
DeleteThanks for the heads-up, my General.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome my friend!
DeleteNever heard of it let alone watched it? But I shall look out for it.
ReplyDeleteYou'll like it slackbladder!
DeleteI will need to check this out at some point.
ReplyDeleteChristopher
You won't regret it!
DeleteNice critic quote at the start! :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to add this to my watch list.
Worth it Chris!
DeleteThanks for the review. Added to my movie Watch List.
ReplyDeleteNo probs!
DeleteReally want to see!
ReplyDeleteYou'll like it!
DeleteI thought it was pretty good. One you should do..Outlaw King. I´ll do you a summary of the historical F ups in it.
ReplyDeleteI'll do that mate!
DeleteLook Forward to it but There´s a lot of historical bu**er ups in the film and TBH, even with all it´s historical muck ups, Brave heart is more entertaining and, IMHO, Entertainment is what Counts. The plot and acting in Rebel King is as dry as ...?...something very dry left out in the hot sun of a desert after being dried in a hot dry oven and rubbed liberally in salt to remove any last bit of moisture.
DeleteThe plot sign posting was painfull. The Scottish may have well been wearing "we are just and mistreated" and the english "we just mistreat" T-Shirts. The sign posting didn´t work though (it was too bleeding obvious) as, due to the pitifull acting, I ended up not caring or disliking any of the characters enough to care which side won.
Lol, you have me intrigued!
DeleteWatch the Trailer. The bit with him sitting in the boat staring. The guy who Plays de Bruce spends most of his time doing that...I think it´s to Show he´s peed off but trying to come up with a solution. That or he´s concentrating on Holding one in.
DeleteSmell the Fart acting, made famous by Joey Tribiani from Friends...
DeleteWatched it and though not the best film in the world, a reasnably enjoyable watch and I'd agree with your rating.
ReplyDeleteI think sometimes it depends on the lead actors, the wrong actor can ruin a movie!
