I'm trying to furnish my Operation Sealion project with some 00 scale painted scenery from Hornby to give it that English sleepy village look, so I picked up this second hand police box (which looks really good) and a pub which I will post later this week.
The figures are a pair of 20mm bobbies from The SGTS Mess WW2 range for my fictional town...or a game of Doctor Who.
The Bobbies and the Police Box look great, just the ticket for a Warmington on Sea Scenario..."Put that light out...put that ruddy light out!!!"
ReplyDeleteVery neat work.
ReplyDeleteTry and find a good model railway shop Fran, as there is a great range of prepainted British buildings called Skaledale, pubs, houses, shops etc and loads of other stuff.
ReplyDeletevery cool,im watching the doctor at the moment, from the start(1963)the b/w ones are very funny, well whats left of em
ReplyDeleteDon't know why but that right one makes me chuckle :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent work, definitely works for either scenario.
ReplyDeleteCool police box! And it also has two neat police figures there.
ReplyDeleteeither way....
ReplyDeleteEven though you plan on using that police box in a historical setting it will always have associations with Doctor Who.
ReplyDeleteThe potential for crossover is there too. There have been a lot of Who stories tied up with the Second World War and even Sealion. In the New Adventures novel Timewyrm: Exodus Sealion was a success, and The Curse of Fenric had a party of Russians landing from the sea to steal a codebreaking machine.

Excellent work really will set the mood of quaint middle England. I love those boxes; wish we still had them in service.
ReplyDeleteThe way the Home Office cuts are going, the police would be able to use them as stations soon.
Cool. Is it bigger on the inside? ;)
ReplyDeleteadmit it: you've been playing doctor who ever since you got those. :D
ReplyDeleteCool stuff. Plays its part perfectly!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Dr Fran or should we call you Dr Donna????
ReplyDeleteIt speaks Dr Who to me. I like it.
ReplyDeleteSuperb model and very clean paint job, well done.
ReplyDeleteIs there a little mini Doctor Who to go with that box? Maybe a sonic screwdriver as well?
ReplyDeleteSorry to read that you've been ill. Hope your up and running well today.
love the blue colour, very refreshing, Lurk!
ReplyDeleteWell done paint job there!
ReplyDeleteVery nice!

ReplyDeleteDr. Who all the way! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL, what a tiny police station.
ReplyDeleteIt will be a nice touch on the tabletop.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful box and minis. One of the things I think is cool about your project is that there's so much civilian presence, which provides great variety in what you get to include. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteNice blog, Lurker. I've suscribed to your digital magazine..the Angry Lurker With A Smile.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the Doctor Who minis
ReplyDeletei pick dr who
ReplyDeleteHaha, that is great. Can't wait to see the pub.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. It's those kind of touches that really bring a table to life.
ReplyDeleteIf it were me, I'd play the Doctor, with a fez
ReplyDeleteSorry, for me a police box has only ine meaning... to host a Tardis!! :D
ReplyDeleteI've seen only the new series of Dr. Who (from 2005) but I'm definitely for the good Doctor.
By the way, I'm pretty sure you know them, but pay a visit at heresy:

Yeah all you'd be missing is a Dalek.
ReplyDeleteExcellent find Fran. I had no idea traditional bobby figures even existed.
ReplyDeleteVery cool!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
I like that the lady bobbie is wearing a skirt, adds a touch of "Charlie's Angel" to her image.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of blue police station.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking figures
ReplyDeleteThe nerd in me says Doctor Who. Oh yes, definitely Doctor Who.
ReplyDeleteVery nice and neat Fran. Only thing missing is some Daleks
