It weighed 28 tonnes, a length of nearly 24 and a half feet, a crew of 6, a 76.2mm main gun and this variant had 4 7.62mm machine guns.
Have been collecting a few 20mm Soviet pieces over the last year as a side line and as the British are currently been painted I just wanted to paint something different (not that different I grant you) but will do something around 1942 in Russia with my early war Germans.
The models are from Shellhole Scenics "Friend or Foe" range and I have added some 20mm German armour to show scale.
20mm German Panzer IV and II for scale.
Nice, a couple of my favourites
ReplyDeleteThat insane, I thought the M3 Lee looked goofy, but holy nuts this is truly Russian thinking. Big tank, more guns, what can possibly go wrong?
ReplyDeleteVery interesting, and well done...as usual!
ReplyDeleteExcellent.
ReplyDeleteI need to get a few of those. Truly awful tank design. Amazing that a nation that came up with the T-34 also went with such disasters as this and its slightly bigger cousin.
Nice painting mate, it looks like a bucket of bolts, but thats Russian construction for ya, I'm really enjoying your WW2 stuff, keep cranking it out!
ReplyDeleteA great addition to your collection Fran!
ReplyDeleteNice work!
T.
No shortage of lead coming out of those babies!! Nice work Fran.
ReplyDeleteImpressive, but just a pity that the armour was so thin.
ReplyDeleteLove all that interwar design madness .-D
ReplyDeleteGreat job with the painting too!
Cool!
ReplyDeleteOh, the tanks of the Russians. But nothing the in spite of... great work! Likes me very well. 1A
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about tanks or wars or anything, but I still think you did a really good job on them and I like the star on 'em. :) Have a good Monday Angry!
ReplyDeleteVery nice work Fran.
ReplyDeleteThose look great. I love those old Russian tanks. I use 15mm versions for Space Ork tanks. They just look so bodged together.
ReplyDeleteTons of fun! Good looking models.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen tanks like that with two gun turrets on the front. pretty bad ass man!
ReplyDeletethey look powerful!
ReplyDeleteThose look incredible, and massive next to the german ones. Nice job again!
ReplyDeleteInteresting looking tanks. Cool stuff, indeed!
ReplyDeleteNice tanks.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking tanks!! I've been catching the WWII bug again myself, but need to do a thing or two before doing some more.
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Nice work mate. the look like they would be beasts in real life
ReplyDeleteThose small medium tanks look really large. *ba dum bum*
ReplyDeleteAlso, love the weaponry they're sporting. Wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of those, medium sized or not.
Cool!
ReplyDeleteDems some tenacious tanks!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey look so real... just a little smaller
ReplyDeletefuck yeah tanks!
ReplyDeleteVery, very nice Francois!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the German Panzers the best. My brother and I had a great deal of admiration for Rommel as a military leader and when we played our wargames we fought over which one of us could be Rommel and his troops. Although he was the enemy we couldn't help but admire him.
ReplyDeleteVery fun! I love this tank. Nice to see someone embrace them! So quirky... even more so is the T-35. I have one of these T-28's in 1/56 scale that I got to use for my Quar :)
ReplyDeleteThey really look as if they should pack a punch, great paint job as well Sir.
ReplyDeleteSix guys in one of them, bet that was grim.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff again Fran, they sure look good
ReplyDeleteGreat Tanks Angry, I've never seen that Mk before do you know if the designers were looking at Russian pin ups for inspiration for that formidable frontage? ;o)
ReplyDelete..and to think at the same time we were developing the similar style A9!
ReplyDeleteGood job the Soviets had the T-34 on the way....
Great, and from a company I was unaware of. I got a T-28 from SHQ that is really nice, but these look better.

More good work. Very cool. Hope the day is good by you. Overcast and chilly here. It's game night for Tim, and soon I'll be tucked away, reading. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Week.
Great stuff. I am working on a scenario for the Soviet offensive in Finland in July, '44. The Finns will be using quite a few captured Red tanks, mainly T26's, but they'll also have one of these.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done!!! Man tanks are always cool.... at any size!!!
ReplyDeleteRED STAR!
ReplyDeleteI'd take the panzers over those any days. I've heard enough horror stories of soviet machinery.
ReplyDeletecool tanks, would be sweet if u could fire them
ReplyDeleteExcellent vehicles. The detail really seems to "pop" very nicely on these.
ReplyDeletewow ..it sets me ready for war ...
ReplyDeletethey look perfect and so real. My kid would love it.
ReplyDeleteThe Soviets were badass on the battlefield. By far no one in the allies gave as much as them, or lost as much.
ReplyDeleteLove the tanks. Packing just a bit of firepower...
