....and why did I buy them?
15mm Peter Pig modern US marine corpsman plus assistance and marine casualty figures, there is one navy corpsman normally per marine platoon, also bought these rules that my brother funded with an amazon voucher at Christmas....I may have bitten off more than I can chew as I usually like my rules like me....simple but we'll give them a go anyway!
This might sound weird, but I love those casualties.
ReplyDeleteNicely painted minis. Never heard of Force on Force.
ReplyDeleteGreat casualties, and Corpsmen. Setting the standard again Fran!
ReplyDeleteThey look very good, particularly the chap holding up his plasma bag! Good luck with the rules, like you I find simple is best.
ReplyDeleteThey died a heroes death, they died to protect King Fran. It was a noble cause....
ReplyDeleteHaving some more in depth rules could be good as long as they don't drive you insane.
ReplyDeleteVery nice set of figures and really nice painting too.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of favourable reviews on the web for FoF and I gather once you get the hang of the basics it plays pretty smoothly. A couple of the guys at Angus Wargames Club have used them and given them two thumbs up.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sure your fine looking Corpsmen will only want to play under the best rules!
You can never have enough rules mate.
ReplyDeleteSomebody call a medic !
ReplyDeleteNice little scene that
ReplyDeleteThey are good rules mate. They're actually quite simple, but use some different mechanisms to traditional rules, which takes a little getting used to and that is what seems to put people off, but stick with it and I'm sure you'll be happy.
ReplyDeleteGood choice of rules!
ReplyDeleteI did paint some irregulars in January and will receive my own mob of US Army & Special Forces next week.
Your USMC looks great. I hope your oppnent has enough irregulars. He will need a lot...
Whiteface / Oliver
Ray's forces are in trouble....
Deleteagain? what have they been up to this time? ;)
DeleteThey turned up!
DeleteNice looking stuff yet again Angry
ReplyDeleteThat corpsman is going to have his work cut out for him.
ReplyDeleteWell at least now they live ones have some extra cover right?..haha
ReplyDeleteNice looking casualties and medics
ReplyDeleteI'm with Max Evel!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on those, Fran. It's nice to see Corpsmen on the field. If you get to the casualty within the 1st 15 minutes, the chance of survival goes way up.
ReplyDeletePoor dead guys... Their tiny families will be so devastated...
ReplyDeleteThe picture with all the dead guys is kind of creepy and sad!
ReplyDeleteNice work Fran!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Well painted, as always, Fran.
ReplyDeleteThe figures look Rey nice. However, the rules are best for small unit actions. We have played large and very large games with them and they break down after you get a few companies for each side. In fact, the Vietnam game I posted on my blog last summer was a game using these very same rules.
ReplyDeleteBut I am liking those figures.
That is "really nice" ... Bloody autocorrect on the iPad just doesn't do what it should.
DeleteGreat figs. I got the force on force rules last week. I looked at the index and started reading the intro. It took about 5 miniutes before I said to myself, "Hmmm...I'm not really up for this. I wonder where my copy of Flying Lead is?"
ReplyDeleteI think the older I get, the simpler I like my rules.
What's the red thing?
ReplyDeleteMeant to represent a blood transfusion.
DeleteThey look very realistic, here's hoping they don't smell that way.
ReplyDeleteGreat painting! Seems to be a good figure set.
ReplyDeleteRegards
Lonewolf
Sweet!!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough those are way to many casualties... Whoever commands hat outfir... His career hit a dead end! ;-)
I thought it was Semper Fi, do or die. Not Semper Fi, do or get treated by Navy personnel.
ReplyDeleteHope to hear a review from ye of these rules in due course
ReplyDeleteThose are really cool in a macabre kind of way.
ReplyDeleteA-W-E-S-O-M-E!
ReplyDeleteWhy do those cute little dead bastards amuse me so?
ReplyDeleteI could imagine it's quite sad to paint casualties
ReplyDeleteI've been away. Did you make your own country yet? Did I miss it?
ReplyDeleteI just came from Ray's page and saw he made all you guys, but asked him where he was?
I was sipping tea with my feet up, watching Fran and the other dig a hole!
DeleteFran, these are very nice figures, and very useful with the FoF rulebook. About this one, in my local Club we have been playing with it since it was "Ambush Alley", and I can say you it is a very easy to lear and enjoyable rulebook with wich you can have a very realistic (and fun) game.
ReplyDeleteBest regards.
Great painting as ever
ReplyDeleteGreat paint job. I hear you on the simple rules -- feel the same way myself.
ReplyDeleteI know casualties happen, but it's a little scary to see the figures...
ReplyDeleteactually, you need more blood :D
ReplyDeleteStay in there soldier! It's nice to see that little touch here and there.
ReplyDeleteNice figs, look forward seeing them in action
