I miss them along with the 80's but then I am old.........I also need a favour, over at La Figoblogotheque I'm in a 5 way street fight for best Wargames blog of 2011, the link is
here , don't worry I won't be hurt if you don't but even Ray voted for me, shameless and I mean shameless plug over......
The Rejects are meeting up this weekend for a Crimean wargame and if you can have a damn good weekend, I won't because Ray will be at the wargame as well!
Have a great weekend - gaming the Crimea is a blast!
ReplyDeleteLove the pic too mate!
I try sometimes to think if there was anything really good about the 90's. Well okay, maybe the net, and Zena Warrior Princess. Everything else kinda sucked.
ReplyDeleteExcept in the 60s I had to school mates that experimented with homemade fireworks......
ReplyDelete...excuse me "TWO".
ReplyDeleteThen drugs came along.
Great pic - and so true. We could play conkers, slide down icy paths, throw snowballs, climb trees...and no-one batted an eyelid.
ReplyDeleteOnce in the nineties I made the mistake of driving up Cicero Avenue at 9pm on the Fourth Of July, because I had to pick up someone at Midway Airport right then of all times. On my left I saw a four-man crew of Ciceronians preparing to launch what looked just like either this or a Scud missile, on a wheeled launcher, at the next neighborhood north of them. Someone else had thrown a 'grenade,' or maybe an M-80, at me earlier so I was a little jumpy already when I saw the Scud crew. These guys did look like adults, though, and not kids, at least.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture, I've seen it before and it's so very true.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on that! I don't know if it's just because we're old (though that, no doubt, is part of it) -- I think both the world and we have changed since then, which makes the gap even greater.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, have a great game this weekend!
i nostalgiad...
ReplyDeleteHave fun. I was sorely disappointed when they discontinued Lawn Darts.
ReplyDeleteThe world is too protective of itself these days! The 80's were great! You could see 7 yr olds playing outside unsupervised and no one would think anything of it. These days it seems you must be at least 18 to go outside on your own!
ReplyDeleteLove the pic and Wiley Coyote!
That applies to the 80's and 70's as well!
ReplyDeleteDamn that Ray! Maybe this weekend he'll leave the Pamela Anderson wig at home and stop calling you Tommy Lee.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture. I love the text. So true. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!
Great pic. Good luck with the Crimea gaming. I'm looking forward to pics.
ReplyDeleteso very true, Lurk. And I loved the Coyote! Such a sweetheart!
ReplyDelete80's didn't have internet where a two year old can buy stuff online and do it with instruction manual and how to do video along with .
ReplyDeleteDisclaimer: 90s didn't pay me for this replay and FDA asked me give this statement.
Have a great one yourself; make sure you take some snaps of the Crimea game; just my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteCool pic and enjoy the game!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Hey you kids! Get off my property!
ReplyDeleteYeah I think that would work for the 80's too, now a days they are just pathetically dimwitted. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteClassic I love all the old WB stuff especially Rolf Harris's cartoon show on a Sunday evening
ReplyDeleteVote in for you (Invoice in post)
ReplyDeleteI miss the 90's
ReplyDeleteVoting now!
It's just that I was too retarded to figure out how to build a rocket!
ReplyDeleteDemotivazional are good! :D
ReplyDeleteTry and enjoy it even with Ray there. I mean, he voted for you.
ReplyDeletelol! That's great!
ReplyDeleteI was one of those non retarded kids in the late 80's/early 90's. the good ol' days!
ReplyDeletePoor Ray, even when doing good he is shafted!
ReplyDeleteYou, old? Compared to me you're but a youth and ya know it!! I'm off to vote for the best wargame page of 2011....
ReplyDeleteYeah that's only because we didn't have youtube to give us instructions on how to blow ourselves up.
ReplyDeleteThe '90's made me. I'm gonna vote and hope you still eke out a fun time.
ReplyDeleteIf the snow is not too bad I'm at York at a wargames con
ReplyDeleteShould I take ray along? all he needs do is drive 186 miles to mine we will take him from there.
I watch something a few months back where they gave a bunch of kids a meccano and the original instructions to build a working crane. The kids all failed...partly because it was maccano's policy back in the 50's to put a few deliberate errors in the instructions - to make sure kids had to think for themselves.
ReplyDeleteHaha that picture is incredible! :) I might have to steal it for facebook...
ReplyDeleteYour blog is on top of the heap...well deserved
ReplyDeleteBit late with my catch-up to vote, but I was there in spirit. Not literally, you understand, cos I haven't coughed it, but you can have my moral support.
ReplyDeleteNice picture - ever hear the one about the nun and the gorilla?
