15mm Modern Painted US Oshkosh HEMTT....

.... (Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck) from QRF Models and a damaged Humvee from Peter Pig!

Bought this model from QRF a while ago with a few other pieces including a M1A2 which I refuse to show, the Oshkosh model is a beast but I had a lot of problems with it as not completely cast or formed especially the wheels and undercarriage but finally with some angry bodging got it to stay together but the paint job shows a lack of interest on my part but still an impressive beast......

.......16 tons, 8 wheels, nearly 34 feet long, capable of 62 mph and nicknamed the Dragon Wagon!

  1. I've seen of of these Dragon Wagons's 'in-the-flesh' at the Military & Flying Machines event in Upminster. Here's a link to one of my pictures Dragon Wagon. They are huge, bloody noisy (especially when carrying a Tank!) and an incredible sight.

  2. That is pretty impressive looking. I think you still did a great job, even if you were disinterested.

  3. Are those barrels of crude in the back of the Dragon Wagonzz? Begin stockpiling those reserves now Angry!

  4. Very nice! I know that disinterested emotion well - it's when I give the whole thing a wash of diluted Devlan Mud and a light drybrush of white and call it "moody"... :-P

  5. Thats one very big Molotov cocktail on wheels...

  6. Wow the dragon wagon looks like it could burn half that fuel it's hauling just by driving to the corner store and back. Anyway, neat model, too bad about the casting problems. That's always frustrating :/

  7. Definitely a beast of a truck :)

  14. I think you did a great job with the paint. Like the barrels.

  15. What a beast! I assume it needs all the fuel in the back just to get it from A to B!

  16. Why wont you show the Abrams?

Ive not had good luck with QRF. Poor models and crappy shipping times have caused me to pretty much give up on their stuff.

  21. Nice job! Your "lack of interest" paintjob looks better than "full-on inspired" paintjobs.

  22. Good one Fran, these are new and love the vehicles and the detailed paint job on that one.

  23. Very nice work there Angry!

  26. Let's hope no one shoots that truck, it would really go boom!

  27. Now there is the fuel for the General's AFVs. Or, maybe...toxic waste headed for the Rayonian border.

  28. Lovely. Really like the oil drums in particular.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I know oil drums dont explode when you shoot them but wouldnt that be something if they did? That hauler would make quite a boom! lol.

  30. Impressive wingspan on the Dragon Wagon! Very nice.

  31. Just how tactical is a 16 ton truck? I hope it can do more than just carry barrels.

Nice work on it, though. All your stuff is impressive.

  32. I like the look of it, it has the right look for something hauling crap, even if it's expensive crap

  33. Very nice, colours and details!

  34. I don't see how you can say the paint job shows a lack of interest, the amount of detail is really amazing in my opinion.

  35. Nice model though, i would love to drive on in real lif, if ever i win the lottery im buying one. I like the damaged one, it gives a sense of action. Im guessing strategy is more important in these games than gung ho attacks. You can always accitdentally in purpose knock the table over if your losing.

  36. Those are very cool. any idea what else could be carried, Rayonian POW heaving to the refinary these barrels came from

  37. Oh, those are oil barrels. I thought they were beer kegs. A truck that size full of beer would do wonders for morale.
    Nice work Fran.

  38. Very nice.. the broken Humvee must have been fun eh?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I say they are very nice there Fran. With that truck you could drive it up to the Rayonian Compound and BOOM, lol.

  40. WOW that truck turned out really really well!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. That last picture is awesome. The paint job on the vehicle and the terrain is so fantastic that it looks real. Wait a minute... that IS real!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Excellent job on those!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm liking the little barrels!

    ReplyDelete
  44. That's a badass truck! Amazing paint work. Now... can I pretend the barrels are all full of beer? Then it would truly be my dream truck...

  45. The Dragon Wagon. Pretty cool. Do the oil drums come out?

  46. A wonderful model. I like a lot the paint colour.

I´m thinking about one of these in 28mm...

    Best regards.

  47. Well, you certainly did a good job on the assembly as it looks excellent all painted up. Its a ride any soccer-mom would be envious of. Well done!

  48. A beast of a truck! But given the theme in some other recent blog posts can we be sure that those aren't beer kegs in the ???

    ReplyDelete
  49. Not a lot would get in the way of that.
