........these are HO scale railway billboards with the addition of some small time little known companies, they work quite well on the 15mm building from Field Works.
To save you the hassle if you're interested here's the link.
The good black stuff.......
...or the Rayonians!
Great fries but Burger King has the better burgers.....
and the other black stuff!
Also Mark over at The Rambling Person has a great idea for a song trilogy that covers your past, present and future, has made me think about mine!
Perfect Billboards, Looking very good.
ReplyDeleteOfcours the multinational companys want a slice of Franonia:) ...but they might have a conspiracy with the Rayonians...
Wonderful billboards, colored advertising is landing on Franonia!
ReplyDeleteThose look awesome....it's really starting to look like home!
ReplyDeleteThey look great, however are you planning on weathering them a bit to match the building? They look really crisp, just a thought...
ReplyDeleteYou're right, made these before the buildings were bought!
DeleteI agree with Dr. Willet, you should weather them a bit! No matter what, they look good! You should ad one for a mobile provider. When I was in Africa, those were the most common along with Coke!
ReplyDeleteThanks for that!
DeleteKnocked a number of scratch-built billboards & posters up for my Middle-Eastern cesspit, using Google images and a laser printer which came out okay; like yours, I think they bring the buildings to life.
ReplyDeletevery fun :)
ReplyDeletewould also be fun to have some not-so subtle mild nationalistic propaganda. Also maybe the commonly seen from the freeway 'if you lived here you'd be home by now'advertising rentals in the building.
How cool! They do an authenticity.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff, billboards make it much more realistic!
ReplyDeleteHow aboot a water turret or old air conditioner?
I have found some water turrets and satellite dishes....
DeleteNice one git-face, they are a great idea, and you do need to weather down the posters though.
ReplyDeleteFirst thing I thought of was they need bringing back a bit but second thoughts are well the buildings are old the boards are new so I think I would possibly mix them, though that white is very white LOL.
ReplyDeleteHow about battle damage a few (are they bullet proof like 80's movies would have you beleive?)
Nice work
Ian
Bullet holes are a damn good idea Ian!
DeleteThat's a good idea Ian has. Adding battle damage and that would be fun to do as well. You could have one blown in half and hanging half on and half off a building. And then you could glue a figure to it and have him dangling above the ground.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of possibilities with these. A good buy on these Fran.
Like them, and thanks for the link for us lazy so-and-so's.
ReplyDeleteWould it be too much to ask you to measure and post the dimensions of the poster plane (imperial or metric will do!)? Cheers!
Will see if I have the originals and send them to you!
DeleteCool! :)
DeleteCheers mate! :)
A good addition for your gaming board. I agree that they need weathering and/or battle damage.
ReplyDeleteSo - Coke, Guinness and Big Macs. Could it be a dastardly plot by Rayonia to make the people of Franonia fat, unhealthy and unable to use those Nike trainers ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's already worked with some Tamsin!
DeleteGuinness! Why am I not surprised?
ReplyDeleteLooking good, but I think the pillars of the billboards look too clean in comparison to the buildings. Needs a bit of weathering up..
ReplyDeletethose extra touches to the signs are cool, you should put a lurker in the mix.
ReplyDeleteSuper supplements to the scenery section Fran.
ReplyDeleteThose look fantastic.
ReplyDeletePropaganda is good, General!
ReplyDeleteGreat! Good to know they have coke in Franonia.
ReplyDeleteCatering to the advertiser, despicable haha
ReplyDeletewhat? No Hollywood Spy banner there? :)
ReplyDeleteGreat billboards and I agree MD fries are the best and BK Burgers are the best.
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Great idea! Good to see franonia is a capitalist state
ReplyDeleteFree advertising! :D
ReplyDeleteI like them but I would probably be inclined to make my own adverts. Soylent Brown or the like.
ReplyDeleteThat's because you're talented and I'm not!
DeleteNice signage, I hope these advertisements are proving lucrative for Emperor Fran
ReplyDeleteThese look superb – especially being so shiny on top of buildings riddled with bullet holes :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! They look good too.
ReplyDeleteFran!! What is wrong!? No spoof ads:

Cheers
Paul
I like those Paul, nice one!
DeleteThose look great! I often troll the HO stores looking for things useful to gaming.
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome. I love the old school Coke one. Well done!
ReplyDeleteGood stuff Fran!
ReplyDeletenice advertising! Frannonia certainly has a good economy.
ReplyDeleteStick with the Guiness, Franonia.
ReplyDeleteA very nice touch for Franonia. Then, Guiness is the national brew?
ReplyDeleteI like the effect!
ReplyDeleteGreat billboards, but I wonder what your three songs would be? Oh please tell!
ReplyDeleteI posted some D&D Cthulhu critter stats
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Guinness, I need to try some of the real stuff. The other day I picked up a case and didn't froth, no silt, and didn't leave rings on the glass as I drank it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like I need to go to a pub for something better.
...or over in Ireland!
DeleteI love miniatures like these
ReplyDeleteNice idea there Fran. They look great. How much to advertise my blog on one? This could be a nice wee earner for you!
ReplyDeleteNow you're talking!
DeleteI like the classic look
ReplyDeleteNice effect, though they look a little pristine on those ruined buildings - I'd give them a fair bit of damage and weathering to use them with these, but they'll look cool on none battle ravaged buildings.
ReplyDeleteThese look great. Nice look and inspirational.
