Have painted them quite basically denoting marines but also for the simple sci-fi look I want, although this will be challenged by the paint job I decided with the alien Garn!
I may have to add a unit emblem to the armour and also I need to find some rules, I need simple and small like the genius AKULA rules........
Platoon leader or sergeant....
I like the way you've painted up those helmets the highlights on the curve are excellent.
ReplyDeleteNice to have you back posting at the regular time. Missed you out here in the mornings ya big Irishman!
It's this shift pattern Anne, I'm all over the fecking place!
DeleteI liek those, nicely painted too!
ReplyDeleteKhurusan is dangerous- I am tempted by almost everything they make.
Nice job as always Mr Angry! Khurusan do do some very tempting figures.
ReplyDeleteThose look really smart, Fran. The helmets are excellent - I love the way you caught the light on those. Splendid stuff!
ReplyDeleteAdding an emblem to those things is going to be tricky, but probably not as tricky as finding simple rules.
ReplyDeleteNice, simple paint job Fran. Now for some bugs for them to hunt :)
ReplyDeleteNice. Very good job for this one. haha
ReplyDeleteVery effective work, Lurker...
ReplyDeleteYou have done well there mate they look great.
ReplyDeleteNice to see you drifting away from the WWII stuff (not that I hated it). This shows more well-roundedness in your skill, and boy are the skills good!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! Damn, I want the big gun.
ReplyDeleteNow we're talking. Nice fire power. I really like the helmets as well, but the entire paintjob is great.
ReplyDeleteNow they are cool. Very nice work there Mr L.
ReplyDeletewow!!! Grey and blue, as the Southern rebels!
ReplyDeleteFran, that's an excellent work. I am really pleased with it. Well done mate!
Thanks mate!
Deletecool look like astronomy army lol
ReplyDeleteCool Angry. Looks like they are ready to kick some alien ass.
ReplyDeleteReally well done!
ReplyDeleteThey look ready for a hostile environment, for sure.
ReplyDeletevery cool, those helmets are pretty great!
ReplyDeleteLook great. If I had one of them helmets on I´d be worried about banging into a door frame...
ReplyDeleteCheers
paul
I think the feckers would have trouble with the door frame!
DeleteThese are some of my favorite 15mm sci-fi troopers right now, nice to see them painted up so well here.
ReplyDeleteNo alien will escape that big gun, unless they are big aliens I suppose haha
ReplyDeleteYou definitely went the right way painting them "simple"! There towed down grey makes them look awesome! And the blue you used on the visors is the best!!
ReplyDeletethese look nice man, like the blue domes.
ReplyDeleteThey look Brilliant. These guys always remind of the dudes from the end of Aliens 3
ReplyDeleteWhat superb models, and a cracking paint job to boot!
ReplyDeleteThere's something very SPECTRE about them.
Hail General, Fran(cioso)! The Franonian marine field uniform with its beautifully clear helmet dome will strike fear into the hearts of any and all species who would dare not submit to Franonian Law. Franonia forever!!
ReplyDeleteA bonus for the minister!
DeleteReally nice work on the helmet dome things.
ReplyDeleteThose look great Fran! Helmets look cool and really like the guy kneeling.
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Nice job and nice figures. A few months ago I'd have dismissed Sci-Fi as a gaming genre, but now I'm more than passingly interested. What rules do you use?
ReplyDeleteI have bought Tomorrow's War........
DeleteMinis look good as for simple rules...
ReplyDeletehttp://thegamesshed.wordpress.com/2010/06/17/fubar-one-page-sfmodern-rules/
F.U.B.A.R. is a great fast system, it's what my friends and I use. The rules can be easily tailored to fit your setting and are a breeze to learn. Can't beat one page rules.
Thanks for that Chris, I'm off to try'em!
DeleteThanks for that, I'll give them a try!
DeleteGreat paint scheme! I really like how the blue bubble-visor is set off from the greys and red. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteOutstanding Francis! Love the paint job on these, the helmets are particularly effective.
ReplyDeleteAnother good group of figures; the color choices look great for Sci-Fi. How many figures do you plan to put on the table?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they'd still be called jarheads. Maybe bubbleheads.
ReplyDeletegreat work fran. I hope that these men are from the future solar power of Frannonia, of coarse they can now have an intersteller war with those bugs and not some pesky rayonians... or did their leadership flee earth only to return with an army of hideous clones.
ReplyDeleteLook how opaque those helmets are. I wonder how you could even see out of them.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap.. can't believe I missed these.. they are great! Love the blue helms especially! Really came out nicely!
