15mm Sci-Fi US Deep Strike Colonial Marines.

These boys are from Khurasan and are now up to platoon level with vehicles (I need to get more) plus gunship support. I liked the way they looked and would like more to be added to the range but I doubt it, I will be adding more marines in less bulky armour as well for Recon duties.

Have painted them quite basically denoting marines but also for the simple sci-fi look I want, although this will be challenged by the paint job I decided with the alien Garn!

I may have to add a unit emblem to the armour and also I need to find some rules, I need simple and small like the genius AKULA rules........

Platoon leader or sergeant....

  5. Adding an emblem to those things is going to be tricky, but probably not as tricky as finding simple rules.

  10. Nice to see you drifting away from the WWII stuff (not that I hated it). This shows more well-roundedness in your skill, and boy are the skills good!

  22. You definitely went the right way painting them "simple"! There towed down grey makes them look awesome! And the blue you used on the visors is the best!!

There's something very SPECTRE about them.

  26. Hail General, Fran(cioso)! The Franonian marine field uniform with its beautifully clear helmet dome will strike fear into the hearts of any and all species who would dare not submit to Franonian Law. Franonia forever!!

  29. Nice job and nice figures. A few months ago I'd have dismissed Sci-Fi as a gaming genre, but now I'm more than passingly interested. What rules do you use?

  30. Minis look good as for simple rules...

F.U.B.A.R. is a great fast system, it's what my friends and I use. The rules can be easily tailored to fit your setting and are a breeze to learn. Can't beat one page rules.

  32. Outstanding Francis! Love the paint job on these, the helmets are particularly effective.

  33. Another good group of figures; the color choices look great for Sci-Fi. How many figures do you plan to put on the table?

  34. I wonder if they'd still be called jarheads. Maybe bubbleheads.

  35. great work fran. I hope that these men are from the future solar power of Frannonia, of coarse they can now have an intersteller war with those bugs and not some pesky rayonians... or did their leadership flee earth only to return with an army of hideous clones.

  36. Look how opaque those helmets are. I wonder how you could even see out of them.

  37. Holy crap.. can't believe I missed these.. they are great! Love the blue helms especially! Really came out nicely!
