  6. Nice looking girls Fran. Can't go wrong with women carrying weapons. I've got a Silverback Gorilla with huge wings from Eureka in the lead pile and a few other goodies by them. Nice stuff.

    Congrats on your placing!!

    1. The gorilla may have been sculpted by my brother Anne, he does a lot of work for Eureka!

  7. I have had these models sitting half done for about two years. After seeing this post I need to get them dressed and on to the table top.

  11. Good work, Fran! Great to see ladies in black...with guns. That is a western town I could get into. Shouldn't you be celebrating your top 5 finish? Beers for the winners, I say!

  14. Nice paint job Fran. I'm impressed with the figures too. They're refreshingly 'normal' and not twee like many of the female gaming figures you see.

  15. Cowgirls with clothes on, wow, very nice they are too. Great paintjob on them Fran

  16. Always good to see any wild west progress. I look forward to seeing how the whole town is coming on.

Thinking of our brief chat on Saturday with regard to trains. For the most part it would be empty tracks. The other thing to consider of course is that most western towns simply would not have a rail connection. Therefore at this stage I would not prioritise one. This allows you to do a few scenarios around surveying the landscape for the best route, which may or may not go though the town. Anyway all the best and Nicely painted. Should I go to Salute I shall pick some up!

    1. I've been thinking of just doing the tracks as scenery.

  32. Nice painting Fran. The sculpts are fairly cartoonish -like all of Eureka's stuff really- but I kinda like em.

  33. Let's see: Wyata, Virgilia, Jamesina and Morgana Earp, striding down the dusty main street of Tombstone for an appointment with the Clanton sisters at the KO Corral... Wyata has just dumped the card sharp Matt Blaylock for a handsome young kid called Josiah...

Nice, evocative figures, Fran. By the way, Clint makes some very good points. There was quite a lot of competition between towns to get the railroad to stop by their burgeoning 'going places' place, and not the lawless, stagnating burg down the road. They used to hire professional 'boosters' to tout their town.

You can see the potential for inter-burg wars, eh?

  38. The female Doc looks a lot healthier than the original. Given Docs coughing fits, she no doubt has a better set of lungs.
