28mm Painted Thunder Boxes or Dunny or Outhouse or Privy or Earth Closet or...............

........even Cr**per if you prefer! Many names for an essential piece of woodwork found between the 18th and 20th century in Europe, North America, South Africa, Australia or nearly anywhere you had to go!

They come from 4Ground, you get 4 in the pack, MDF and not too hard to make.

28mm appropriately attired Foundry figure to help show size and scale.......

  2. Great set, Fran! There must be a lot of pent up demand in your Old Wester town to have 4 in a row!

4Ground is making great stuff. I've grabbed 2 of their Dark Ages hovels and love how nicely they go together.

  3. You can never have enough outside conveniences for when a chap gets caught short. Really great bits of kit too.

  4. I guess with all those beans, they need that many crappers in your town!

  6. They remind me of a few share houses I lived in, in the late 80s and early 90s – with no indoor "facilities"! Nice work Fran!

  7. Nice looking models. Looks like #2 and #4 are the victims of some explosive flatulence. Bacon and Beans'll do it every time.

  9. Yep, these would have wound up on the lawn at my school. Along with road signs, rubbish bins and toilet paper they create quite a sensation!

These are some real beauties Francis.

  10. Yep: the sort of edifice that was described by Bill Cosby as being in winter a hundred yards too far from the house, and in summer, a hundred yards too close! Since a certain Thomas Crapper invented a flush toilet, I daresay one need not be overnice about the appellation 'crapper' for these conveniences. I my view Mr Crapper has done more for humankind, than, say the types of comedian who's running the planet these days. By answering a vital human need, Mr Crapper is thus to be honoured.

    Oh, yeah... Nice models. :-)

  15. Looks like an old west construction site. They are in better shape than some of the modern -blue water- portable tiolets on job sites. They even have hard hats shaped like cowboy hats, so he could be a gunslinging construction worker.

  16. Kinda nasty. You should cut a piece of dead rat tail and leave it in one of them. Get the aroma and the flies hanging around just like the real thing!
