Recently won these beauties from James and some unpainted extras when he had his giveaway, as a painter myself I have no problem with other peoples painting especially if they're this good!
I already own a Michael Awdry!
.....and a Dux Homunculorum!
....even a Battleaxe!
....and a Loki is on the way.....soon!
So I'm collecting some of the masters (well Battleaxe might be pushing it!), retirement shouldn't be a problem, Antiques Roadshow 2043 here I come......
Stunning face work and basing on the 11th Doctor, although some say he's the 12th?......
Exterminate....sorry I couldn't help it........
The facial work defines the figures......
......even if just hidden behind a mask the face work is good and then there's the bases......
This is what makes the professional painters worth their price...........
and then there's the great guy (Crazy Joe) over at Happy Valley who sent me 20 15mm Warbases casualty counters because I mentioned that I didn't know they did them on his blog and hey presto they arrive in the mail, chap deserves more followers and a pint if I ever meet him!
Seb, a fellow Reject sent me a shit shed load of 15mm sci-fi when I won in his give away and then some...............
I also won a packet of 1:35 scale plastic skateboarders from Maverick Collecting in his giveaway a little while back.....
Need to do a give away of my own soon, probably when I get a job............
Awesome stuff. My along sider at 50mmgame room, Steve, is a big Doctor Who fan and would love a few of these. Great work.
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely aren't they?
DeleteThat is looking pretty damn good!!! Great work!
ReplyDeleteYou do seem to have been very lucky on the miniatures front. I hope you will get lucky soon on the job front mate!
Let's hope my friend.
DeleteYou're just a winning fool! I dig the Daleks.
ReplyDeleteLuck of the Irish!
DeleteFab work Fran love the Daleks
ReplyDeleteI worry about you!
DeleteThey have Doctor Who figures? Dammit, Fran, you're gonna get me started on painting minis if you keep showing figures like this!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying boys!
DeleteLooking good Fran and it seems you have a talent for winning!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
A skill some might say!
DeleteLucky bollox others might say!
DeleteA lucky bollox and a cheeky git bollox as well!
DeleteTakes one to know one!
DeleteAs a Doctor Who fan I have to say that damn, those are awesome. Both the sculpting and the painting are brilliant on them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that Mark!
DeleteNice looking loot Fran! :)
ReplyDeleteAny news on the job you were interviewed for last week?
I'm being vetted in Northern Ireland at the moment.
DeleteThese are great models.
Deletebeing vetted? ooh err, sounds a bit painful ;)
DeleteYou're right there John!
DeleteWell it is a pain in the rectum!
DeleteWhich side is vetting you? Ours or theirs?
DeleteTheirs!
DeleteFabulous additions to the retirement fund, but I would rest easy knowing you had something else to fall back on!
ReplyDeleteThanks for those kind words Michael:P
DeleteNice win. So how do you use these in a game?
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking skirmish......easy skirmish?
Deletelove the doctor in any size that he might be, were there any episodes where he shrank down?
ReplyDeleteI'll be quiet honest I don't know?
DeleteAwesome minis. I used to be a Dr. Who fanatic in college. I've got to give the new series a try.
ReplyDeleteI do watch a little myself, it does what it says on the tin.
DeleteYou won a watch there Fran!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely an Omega!
Deletewe do love Loki! I wish Helen Mirren would be new Dr. Who :)
ReplyDeleteNow that would be something!
DeleteGreat stuff there Fran and I look the SWAT team especially as I have them with no paint on
ReplyDeleteI used to have them painted but not this nicely.
Deleteglad you like them they where fun to paint
ReplyDeletePeace James
Good to hear James.
DeleteVery nice Fran. Always fun to get new toys. Now you just have to put them on the table and roll some dice in anger (and enjoy yourself!).
ReplyDeleteNothing better than some angry dice rolling!
DeleteNever watched doctor who, great job though and the guy with the big pistol is my favorite
ReplyDeleteHe is one of the best ones!
DeleteSo would you consider yourself a lucky winner, or just a natural?
ReplyDeleteBoth:D
DeleteThe General is still in his stride!
ReplyDeleteNot in this fecking heat though!
DeleteAlways nice to get free stuff! Those Daleks are cute!!
ReplyDeleteFirst time I've heard a Dalek called cute:D
DeleteThe Doctor looks great, but oooh those Daleks look great all together like that. I'd like to have an Amy Pond figure as she's my favourite.
ReplyDeleteYou are missing a figure from one of the greatest painters of our time. A woman who is a legend in her own mind-Anne O'Leary. A woman destined to become obscure before she's ever been heard of, a woman who is silly and a woman who paints figures with....BOOBIES!
It would be a pleasure to add an O'Leary!!!!!!!
DeleteI'll look through the lead pile and find something I think you might like. Would you want a babe?
DeleteWhatever is easiest cailin, I'll leave it up to you!
DeleteBabes are the easiest things for me to paint so it will be a babe. I'll pick you out a really good one.
DeleteAnne drop me a delivery adress to exilespaintinghotmail.com I have the Amy Pond figure (only the flesh done so did not include in the give away) she is your if you want
DeletePeace James
I like the sound of an Amy!
DeleteThe look of Doctor Who is really great ! Great paint on all great Job Francis
ReplyDeleteGreetings .
Thanks Vincent.
DeleteI really like the dalek colour scheme
ReplyDeleteIt's quite striking!
DeleteYou are right the faces are lovely even behind the masks.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are on a winning streak, let's hope it overflows into real life and is not restricted to just blog life!
Let's hope so my friend.
DeleteThanks Andrew.
ReplyDeleteThat is great indeed! And to have all those painters contribute to your retirement fund is just amazing! Makes me want to just send you a model and hope it makes the cut ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd gladly accept, your work is good!
DeleteDefine a genre and I will see what I can do ;)
DeleteModern or sci-fi.
DeleteThat's a big haul of lucky loot. There seems to be a lot of free stuff flying around the Blogosphere of late, and that's a pretty cool thing IMHO.
ReplyDeleteHope the job hunting isn't getting you down (been there, done that, hated every second of it!).
I'm my normal angry miserable self but doubled!
DeleteYe Gods, I didn't think that was possible!
DeleteThe heat is the new multiplier!
DeleteGreat stuff Fran, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteNo problem Sander!
DeleteGreat job once again, the faces are really defined
ReplyDeleteThey really are, aren't they!
DeleteGreat looking figures. Talk about the luck of the Irish in those comps! Hope you're successful on the job front soon.

Matt

I must say those bases in the last pic are quite pretty! It's a good thing I never got into this or I'd never have written a word, I think.
ReplyDeleteYou could do both now!
DeleteVery tinny Fran, very tinny!
ReplyDeleteThank you for those kind words Paul!
DeleteThanks for reminding me of a show that I really should get around to watching.
ReplyDeleteNo problem.
DeleteYou deserve a bit o' luck, Fran! Here's hoping it swings over to the job too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elsie!
DeleteI was so sorely tempted to take these as my prize from James. But think as I already have a hell of a lot of Dr Who stuff, getting my other miniatures painted was a better deal. Glad they gone to a good home though.
ReplyDeleteI was glad to get something painted from James!
DeleteYou are a winner, sir. Very nice figures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Juan.
DeleteThat's one hell of a good haul there Fran.
