15mm Modern Peter Pig IDF Israeli M113 Zelda......

.........includes bodging!

Zelda - Upgraded M113 with Toga armor suite - perforated steel plates mounted on an external frame around the front and sides of the vehicle.

The Peter Pig version comes like this.........

I wanted to add a few sandbags like some Zelda's in the field........

......and with some green stuff and a little swearing! Behold........

..........probably could be a lot more sandbags but didn't want to obscure too much?

  8. Excellent addition Fran. Those sandbags really make them look ready for action. I got to drive some M113s, but mostly the M577 in my Army days. I've always had a soft spot for them. :)

  23. General, one of your intel droids has told me earlier today that your motor pool is so big nowadays, that you've had to had to expand your AFV parking space into some prime R-----ia territory. Hail Franonia!!

  24. I'm kind of surprised you can get IDF miniatures. They look great. Excellent work with the scenery. Too many sandbags probably would have been overkill.

  28. Very nice-looking miniatures!

By the way there was a scandal in Israel in 2014 after the IDF sent troops into the Gaza Strip in Zeldas, which armor - even with all upgrades and sandbags - was pretty much worthless against the AT rockets fielded by Hamas. Many soldiers fell that way - a well-aimed rocket shot can destroy the Zelda and its crew and passengers. There are newer APCs with far better defenses - such as the Namer (the APC version of the Merkava tank) - but they are expensive so troops get sent into combat in Zeldas with paper-thin armor...
