While I'm nearly finished the Operation Sealion forces I had a go at painting some of my Soviet forces which I have been hoarding for a while, nearly have a platoon done, I followed the painting instructions on the box from PSC but I'm not happy with the colour, the figures or my paintjob/choice of colour but I suppose I'm not called the Happy Lurker for a reason and they were as the budgie goes cheap!
The British Military Tournament was very good even if I was sitting in the Gods (well nearly!) and will post pictures..
Lots more Soviets to come.......
Very nice Mr Happy!!!
ReplyDeleteThey look pretty good, how were you hoping they would turn out?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing some of these 20mm WWII figs in action someday. :)
Cheers,
Jason
Nice figures, and good job too, i think the colours look okay.
ReplyDeleteThey look good. Perhaps the highlight came out lighter than you wanted, but I wouldn't kick them off the table for that.
ReplyDeleteWell I like 'em!
ReplyDeleteI like them Fran!
ReplyDeleteA bit ''brown'' perhaps, but we are talking about an army that had millions of soldiers (and different uniforms considering the factories that produced them..)
T.
Well Happy, I think they look just fine. I can't wait for you guys to play Operation Sealion so I can see how that turns out in an alternate timeline
ReplyDeleteNice looking unit. I have to get back to my WW2 Soviets

ReplyDeleteNicely done! I like the color choice and the paint jobs. I wish you weren't across the pond, we could combine our Russians to take on a sizable Kampfgruppe
ReplyDeleteYeah, these look sweet bro! very russian, they would go very well in my secret WW2 project (did I just let the cat out of the bag?) colours look good, and the dude yelling as he fires his machine gun is ace !
ReplyDeleteHey, whats wrong with them>>> They look great to me.
ReplyDeleteI think they look great. Youre too hard on yourself. If I had painted those I'd be Happy.
ReplyDeleteThose look perfectly ok to moi.
ReplyDeleteI really like the animation and poses of the PSC stuff just a pity they are true 15mm and so smaller than all the other metal ranges. Their vehicles are also excellent
they are very similar to Serbian partizans
ReplyDeleteExcellent work. I like the green (moss) on the base.
ReplyDeleteNice troops, Lurker. I emphasize with the fella with the headache.
ReplyDeleteThose rooskies look pretty angry. lol.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun at the tournament. I agree they look a little off, but I'm not that huge on WW2 trivia, I'm not too sure how the Sovs are supposed to look.
ReplyDeleteThey look great as always. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for the typical 'in Soviet Russia, miniature paints you' gag to show up.
ReplyDeleteThese are very nicely painted figures, Fran.
ReplyDeleteReally great! I've been thinking of collecting some 20mm WWII stuff because it's cheap and readily available and I recently purchased Kampfgruppe Normandy which is designed for that scale.
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Very nice as always Fran.
ReplyDeleteAnother great job. I love how shiny those helmets look.
ReplyDelete3rd pic down, dat war face.
ReplyDeleteIn Soviet Russia...figures paint you!
ReplyDeleteGood job on those Fran!
ReplyDeleteWow Fran! You did an excellent job on them!

ReplyDeleteI love the one running. You can totally detect the motion.
ReplyDeleteWell I've got to tell you they look mighty fine to me; might even said your best to date.
ReplyDeleteNice job! I especially like the screaming submachinegunner.
ReplyDeleteI like them. Too often we are our own worst critic. They'll look good following some T-28's into action.
ReplyDeleteYou're very talented!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking figures (I have it on good authority that Father Christmas is bringing me the heavy weapons set...;)
ReplyDeleteHey, I didn't get to tell you. Found a big-ass Sleestak roaming the field out back. Gonna roast him with Hungarian sweet paprika.
ReplyDeleteit still amazes me how detailed these are
