One of my entries for the painting challenge will be this command base from Britannia Miniatures of command motivating the troops, it usually comprises 5 figures but the other two have joined the partisans and took command of an infantry company.
I wasn't in a rush to paint this as it's really only a diorama or a bit of eye candy but the challenge means points.....
Up to 8th place out of 24......
Very good command group, sir; I saw it yesterday in the Analogue Hobbies blog... but you'll need to speed up to catch Ray
ReplyDeleteEven though this peice is just eye candy, its great eye candy!
ReplyDeleteLove the paint job on the guy holding his arm up! His jacket shines as if its real leather!
An officer's life...resting his arse...while the cannon fodder marches to meet destiny!
ReplyDeleteGreat work Fran!
T.
I like it and especially the officer with his feet kicked up.

Looks great Fran. There is nothing wrong with a tasty vignette. JUst the kind of thing which adds some dazzle to a battlefield.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say what Thanos said, but he beat me to it. I love this though. Particularly the guy on the telegraph. You're closing in on Ray now, don't slow down dammit. Lock yourself in a room and don't come out until you win this feckin' contest. I'll ring someone up and have them bring you food 3 times a day. I don't give a damn how much money it costs me either.
ReplyDeleteDa - is very good Comrade Lurker!
ReplyDeletethats a very cool diorama!
ReplyDeleteOh I say, that's a rather lovely piece of eye candy. Into the top ten; Ray will be getting worried!
ReplyDeleteVery nice set of figures and excellent painting too. Watch out Ray!!
ReplyDeletehaha the officer seems to have it made, lying on his butt while everyone else does the work.
ReplyDeleteJoined the partisans...I hope they have sent some NKDV troops to get the traitors;)

ReplyDeleteThose Soviets have a pretty modest command post--but it's nicely painted. :)
ReplyDeletekind of the round table... of mini's
ReplyDeleteLove the details on the map! :D
ReplyDeleteNice diorama, map looks cool. I also want to no where the vodka is comrade?

Your comment on Happy Whisk's blog made me smile, so I popped over to say "hi." "Hi!" Cool diorama - I like the guy leaning back, taking it easy.
ReplyDeleteLol, you can hear them saying "The Fascists Imperialist Bastards are here and the Glorious Peoples Army is here. We are going to attack them there. Any questions Comrades?"
