I gathered these WW2 20mm figures together to represent saboteurs, resistance fighters and for behind the lines shenanigans that tie up regular troops and put a strain on lines of supply and communication...
They are a mixture of soviet partisans from Shell Hole Scenics and CP Models, dismounted soviet tank crew and cossack from Britannia Miniatures and resistance fighters from Wargames Foundry (these are more western european operations), I will add my soviet airborne as well to give a more military look to the unit.....
Ray painted and based these (has never based a figure for me before) and got points in the challenge as well for them ( there is no bleeding fecking justice at all but that's life.......). I'm happy to have them even if the painting is a bit dodgy......
Love that Soviet Cossack and that old lady reaching into her purse. Gun or grenade? I noticed 2 things. 1. You've a gorilla on you banner (beautiful silverback male) and 2. Ray is kicking your arse in the contest. Paint man paint! Paint till you've got blisters on your fingers.
ReplyDeletelovely...and Ray did a pretty good job on the bases..
ReplyDeleteSome really nice painted minis.
ReplyDeleteLove the lady with the handcart. Bringing something strong to the men in the frontline? ;-)
I think they look pretty good, certainly wouldn't have been able to pull that off myself! :p
ReplyDeleteThe painting is dodgy? They look pretty good to me. Viva la revolution!
ReplyDeleteExcellent job on these Angry!
ReplyDeleteSuch a variety of characters and poses!
ReplyDeleteGood painting, I think.
ReplyDeleteCP are the masters of the scale!
ReplyDeleteGreat paint,
Brian
Always had a soft spot for partisan fighters, lots of character to these, great stuff.
ReplyDeleteI thought that these looked familiar! Got to say it, he did you proud on these.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done, Ray!
ReplyDeleteI like the gorilla in the header of the blog too. Is there a resemblance Angry???
BTW Angry - I have something you need to watch. Here in the States, we have a show called 'I Get That A Lot'. Kinda 'meh' overall, but the first show of this season has Pamela Anderson working in a Victoria's Secret. Wow. Google it! (I would, but Im blocked from youtube at work)
yes, Anne noticed it too, what is with the gorilla, Lurk? Feeling powerful, in the mood for bananas or sending someone a message? :))
ReplyDeleteReally nice looking stuff Fran and great new forum header!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
@WarRaptor: Top man, will have to find this....
ReplyDeleteThey're kinda ok? not sure of the colours used? Maybe you should have paid the poor guy more for them? He's very undervalued I hear? Did you pay extra for the basing?
ReplyDeletemy favorite is the second photo and the guy to the far right... nice work.
ReplyDeleteGod I hate these guys, especially when the seem to pop out of nowhere, blocking supply lines and causing overall chaos.
ReplyDeleteThose are very nice. I like the last one with the Partisan looting the Nazi corpse.
ReplyDeleteSome suitably butch looking Ivan women folk amongst that lot :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice as ever
Watch out for the molotovs!!!
ReplyDeleteGood work Fran! A nice lot of figs!
T.
A nice collection of figures and I thought the painting and basing was rather good.
ReplyDeleteI was gonna say some thing then I noticed that Retro-Zombie already said it!
ReplyDeleteI like the hat on said statue. It makes him look like quite the tough ass. And how hes painted he looks more "real" then the others. (but maybe thats cause hes of to the side of the light)
You two make me laugh LOL
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for that last chap. Doesn't look like he's going to make it. Also enjoyed the word, shenanigans. I haven't heard that work in a long time. Going to have to swipe it for a blog post.
ReplyDeleteJust came out of the writing dungeon to let Bug go pee. Soon as she's done, it's back to work for me.
Cheers & Boogie Boogie.
These are superb Angry L!!!
ReplyDeleteNicely done, such a color cast indeed. I'd also never trust that little old lady with her purse, prob has a bazooka in there or something.
ReplyDeleteAwesome stuff, I too love the partisan leader in the cossack hat!
ReplyDeleteNever saw a dead action figure.
ReplyDeleteI just saw your comment Angry. I've brought back some of my history books written in the 1800's and some before and am going to begin writing posts about it next week. We are currently being required to sell of State Treasures to pay our debt, I'm trying to find out which ones. This according to Noonan's plans for our economy.
ReplyDeleteI love the figure carrying rocks. Only you could make rocks look good. Rocks. Really, how do you do that?
ReplyDeleteSome fantastic poses there!
ReplyDeleteCool mix of great minis
ReplyDeleteGreat mate. I always like the look of resistance / freedom fighter types...way more interesting than uniformed troops.
ReplyDeleteCheers
paul
PS..tell Ray to sort his blog out..everytime I look it crashes my PC
Awesome man. Very creative. Always interesting here
ReplyDeleteVery nice Ray, Fran he's done you proud being as you actually paid for them can they not count towards your score even though you own them
ReplyDeleteSkills. You got them. I think I might pay good money to see you and Ray working together. All the love in the room must be overwhelming!
ReplyDeleteNice job, Lurker! Search the dead guy twice...he is hiding some beer in a tin in his jacket pocket.
ReplyDeletelast image of the fallen resistance fighter is awesome.
ReplyDeleteGood work Ray for painting, and Fran for gathering the spoils.
ReplyDeleteGood choice of colours all around.
Nice bunch of partisans - Ray did another fine job one these, as well as the "bonus" basing. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteReally great work.
ReplyDeleteRegards
Lonewolf
Smashing work!
ReplyDeleteFran - what rules are you using for your WW2 skirmish gaming?
Didn't you get the bear? He was with the Cossack! Niv-ce bunch of figures Fran!
ReplyDeleteYou asked about the book I was reading. It's not bad, only a bit strange without Jack Ryan.
Greetings
Peter

Scott: European Battlefield, a skirmish Lord of the Rings....
ReplyDeletePeter: Clancy is one of the best.......
ReplyDeleteCool thanks I'll check it out
ReplyDeleteScott
They look really cool. But I do agree with Anne. Paint faster!
ReplyDeleteI really like the colour pallet that was chosen, awesome lads !
ReplyDeleteThose are by far some of the best paint jobs on resistance fighters I have ever seen out of the foundry! Amazing work here!
ReplyDeleteFran, I honestly wish I could paint as quickly as you do.
ReplyDeleteExcellent!
ReplyDeleteThose look great. It's not often we see such a colorful mix of figures.
ReplyDeleteI just had the hardest flipping time trying to comment. It's nothing on bloggers end, probably mine. All this has made me forget what I was going to say....
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing.
ReplyDeleteThese are great and they remind me a lot of that film with Daniel Craig in, just cant remember the title.
ReplyDeleteI like! Good job, Ray :)
ReplyDeleteYou better feel lucky to have those, pal ;)
Really nice poses and not a dodgy paintjob to be seen. Great stuff guys.
ReplyDeleteVery nice looking partisans, good painting work !
