But I am knackered (figure painting and mentally knackered), the challenge was from 20th December 2011 until 20th March 2012, at the beginning I didn't take it too seriously and didn't submit anything until the 31st of December but slowly the juices started flowing and myself an Ray started a rivalry with the intention of trying to finish in the top 5....
In that time I painted
112 20mm figures
371 15mm figures
17 20mm vehicles of all shapes and sizes
55 15mm vehicles of varying shapes and sizes
1 28mm figure for a separate part of the challenge
Not a lot really but I only painted during the week and had a couple of weeks off and I still painted to my own standard and never compromised on that but I enjoyed myself immensely and bloody well done to Curt who we are seeing at Salute and a game we're putting on the next day.....
4th out of the 24 limit that was set but I'm done in with figures....now where is all that bloody scenery that wasn't allowed in the Challenge!
4th out of how many?
ReplyDeleteCongrats Ray.
24......
DeleteWell done Fran! Congrats!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a painting machine! :)
T.
Good placing mate, so well done there!
ReplyDeleteHa – I was too quick to comment, you were clearly still blogging away.
ReplyDelete4th out of 24 is great, congratulations!
Good effort. i am well impressed.
ReplyDeleteYou painted over 500 models in 3 months and called it `not a lot`... I`ve done 150 since the new year and my group considers me a fast painter :-s
ReplyDeleteGreat result, loved following the competition, but is this now the part where you`ll have to service Ray in liquid needs (take suggestive at own disclosure) for the rest of the year?
errrrr??????? Jack Daniel's me thinks!!!!
DeleteRay I'll take that as what you want my model bar to stock :-P fran said he dosent drink so I needed to make the list longer thanks :-D
DeleteWell done that man, what an achievement! That is an awful lot of lead you managed to get through. Now what I want to know is how much did you buy in the same period! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis challenge cost a lot as well...
DeleteGood effort Fran! Just think of all the finished toys you can now bring to the table.
ReplyDeleteI won't taunt you too much over thrashing your ginger hairy smelly fat arse, but ner ner ner, ner, ner ner!!! ( Blow raspberries!!!)
ReplyDeleteCongrats, that is still quite the achievement.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for you both and now Ray can gloat over beating you on this one. But you guys finished together in the top five so your fourth is good too.
ReplyDeleteWell done mate - 4th is a great effort, but I don't think a certain 1st place winner will let you forget it though :-)
ReplyDeleteMwah ha ha!!!
DeleteNot a fecking chance as he's on days with me this week and cackling like a shite next door!
DeleteCongrats on being 4. As you may
Deleteremember, it's my most favorite n
umber of all the numbers.
Congrats to you both :-)
Very well done to both of you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you both, next time first and second?
ReplyDeleteCongrats, this is a huge amount of mini painted!
ReplyDeleteYou are to admire!
Wow that is a lot of painting really. Good job on being able to do all that much, and it's a shame you didn't beat Ray, but remember, you aren't a ginger. I think.
ReplyDeleteHe's as ginger as a ginger nut biscuit!!
DeleteStill an awesome effort Fran. Congrats to you.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive guys and a great number of models painted up to boot.. makes my work on the Dark Elf commission seem like nothing in comparison.. congrats.. .. .. so what is next on the table then? :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of figures!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of lead painted. Considering how many figures you got painted, fourth place is pretty darned impressive in its own right. Well done!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Fran, 4 is in top 5. Congrats to Rsy. Those figurines made me wow
ReplyDeleteThe figures about figurines made me wow.
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Fran! Fourth is nothing to sneeze at, especially when you consider how any excellent paintjobs you completed in such a short time.
ReplyDeleteWow, thats more than a year's totals for me! Congrats Fran and Ray!
ReplyDeleteWell done Fran, I came in at 11th and I busted a nut doing it. Also when you look at it, I got 900 points in 11th you got how many for 4th, totaly different league.
ReplyDeleteBu what fun it was.
Ian
It definitely was Ian and a damn good work from yourself along the way....
DeleteNot a bad finish, all in all.
ReplyDeleteGood effort, take a well deserved break.
ReplyDeleteRegards
PS, Do you hang out in alleyways?... a lot?... in your pajamas?...
I don't like to about it but I am......Batman!
DeleteWell done thats an impressive number of figures painted, at least for me.
ReplyDeleteWell done Fran. Don't dispair, Ray just cheated, whereas your minis were really well painted ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's the truth sir....
DeleteWOW! congrats.
ReplyDeleteWell done Fran. You're a painting machine. As is Ray.
ReplyDeleteWell done and congrats for coming in the top five and painting so much. There is always next year
ReplyDelete..and the agony of defeat! A great competitor...and a soon to be a greater General! Hail Franonia?!
ReplyDeleteHail Franonia Minister for Paranormal Affairs!
DeleteI eagerly await your command, my General! Hail!
DeleteWell, 4th place isn't too bad. Congrats my friend!
ReplyDeleteLooks good to me Lurker.
ReplyDeleteYeah 4th place is nothing to be ashamed of.
ReplyDeleteAlthough 4th place sounds a bit unlucky you should be satisfied. You did perform a great paintjob and should keep in mind that only three guys were better but twenty were worse than you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulation!
Monty
4th is nothing to shake a stick at. Really, who goes around shaking sticks at things? When was this popular. Congrats though.
ReplyDeleteCongradulations on fourth place! You left 20 guys in the dust!
ReplyDeleteWell done. Thats an impressive list of figures done and puts my own output to shame lol!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Fran. Fourth out of 24 is nothing to be ashamed about.
ReplyDeletecongrats on fourth place! u should have painted harder :)
ReplyDeleteGood job Fran. That's a lot of work, in addition to you being everywhere on the blogs. Always appreciate your work and your comments.
ReplyDeleteCheers mate, Mike
Sterling effort mate!
ReplyDeleteStill an amazing effort compared to my meagre offerings I manage to get done with the hairy sticks.
ReplyDeleteWaitwaitwait.. SCENERY!? Yes, I approve of this. I hope to see some soon!
ReplyDeleteYou did excellent work Fran and I loved the stuff you submitted. It was a real pleasure having you participate in the Challenge. Looking forward to seeing you and Ray in a month!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Curt
Great effort on 4th. Cannot wait to see your efforts in scenery
ReplyDeleteSir, I am impressed.
ReplyDeleteWell done indeed Angry, I wish I could paint only 10% of what you did in this timeframe
ReplyDeleteHoly crap that's alot of painting! Congrats on 4th!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a lot of painting to me too. Congrats for 4th place. Wow, I gotta paint more myself. (pictures, but well, you know)
ReplyDeleteGood result...I can't imagine painting that amount of figures in a year let alone a few months
ReplyDeleteFourth isn't bad congrats!
ReplyDeleteWell done mate, you put in an excellent performance.
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome total Fran as you left me so far behind I couldn't even see your dust cloud with binos and Ray even more so! Well done!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Now I am concerned. I have you and ray as my followers so I am suppoesed not to favour either of you in you conflict but between you and me I feel that you deserve to be put in first... you were the first to follow my blogs.

ReplyDeleteWho cares where you placed. You do amazing things. I am blown away whenever I see the pictures you post. For real. Before I came upon your blog I didn't even KNOW about wargaming. You see what you did. Who is winning now?
ReplyDeleteA well placed fourth great work, now its time to rest if only for a while
ReplyDeleteCheers
Kent
