Happier times.......
Myself, Postie and Ray (met Lee there) headed of to the Skirmish Wargames Show at Sidcup (I had birthday money burning a hole in pocket but saved some for SELWG next month!), picked up a few pieces from Ainsty (28mm sci-fi which will pose as 15mm scenery), a painted kit of a civil airliner and helicopter at the Bring and Buy and some pieces of Games Workshop scenery going cheap, some 15/20mm white UN vehicles and talked to some fellow bloggers (a few regulars were missing up until we left around 1300hrs, I then had to buy lunch for the gits on my birthday (queued to get into a McDonald's.......in the fecking rain!!!!!), got home and got ready for work. Skirmish is a good little show, highly recommended.
Took very little pictures for some reason and not that good as I went through them but I was tired because I'm old........
Clint otherwise known as the cat herder overseeing his 7TV Crooked Dice participation game, we were meant to play but time got away from us again.....
Really nice 40K game.......
54mm Viva Mexico 1916 game using 54mm figures I believe.......
54mm San Juan Hill game.......
More from that 40K game......
Ray with his space marines (all 51 of them) and Leofwine Wargamerson otherwise known as Alan and a rabid supporter of Arsenal and motorised wheelchair battery removal, has issues with Tottenham Hotspur seemingly as well......Postie in the background.
Ray is buying stock for his painting venture, the blog giveaway will hopefully happen next week as the stuff has arrived and will be a joint giveaway with Ray when he reaches 300,000 hits.
I love that pic of you, Lurks.
ReplyDeleteWhy is ray buying Space marines????
Coz he's an idiot!
DeleteIt's a great picture. Happy Happy Birthday :-)
DeleteWhat Ray bought Space Marines?????
ReplyDeleteI thought it had to be a hallucination when I read it!! Going over to the dark side Ray!!!!
DeleteGood for you Ray, having a bit of fun.
DeleteHappy B-day, self-restraint (even the smalles bit) when having birthday money in your pockets deserves admiration!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Fran! :-)
ReplyDeleteI reckon that every once in a while, we sheep, lose our track (that goes for Ray) ;-)
Space Marines? Ray? *well, knock me down with a feather*
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Fran! See you at SELWG in a few weeks.
Looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteSome amazing setups.
ReplyDeleteAnd happy birthday! You're still young.
Happy Birthday there mate it least Ray didnt get the Space Marines for you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and thanks for the pictures.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday old man!
ReplyDeleteThat WW1 game looked nice.
Hey! Happy birthday! Looks like a great time and those are some fantastic looking tables!

ReplyDeleteGreat pics.
ReplyDeleteIs this a mainly Sci-Fi/Fantasy show ?
Supposed to be more of a toy soldier show really?
Delete54mm games, I'd be a pig in heaven at that show! For a second there I thought you'd bought 28mm figures, but you're using that as scenery. Somebody has to paint something bigger than 15 feckin' mm. Jesus Christ, I'm on my own out here. There's no one for my figures to play with and they're getting lonely!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Fran, if your old, I'm ancient. Happy Birthday big guy!
I'm 'ancient' too Anne - Fran's like a young pup!
DeleteGreat pictures. I especially like the craters in the first (scenery) one. And ... Happy Birthday Fran!! Aren't you lucky to have so many great friends (like Ray) to hang out with!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good little show Fran, thanks for the pics. Ray buying space marines! What is the world coming to!?
ReplyDeleteHell in a hand basket!
DeleteWell a happy 16th birthday first of all. I wondered how anyone could be depressed with a Burger King crown on and then I remembered it must mean that they're at Burger King, so that's what's depressing them. I hope you didn't burn through too much of your birthday money, but it was your birthday, and it was your money.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Fran!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and looks like a fun time, at least ater the crown hahaha
ReplyDeleteHope you had a Happy Birthday...a wargames show on your birthday...can't be bad!
ReplyDeleteBirthday, balls, burgers and the boys... good times!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pictures and happy birthday. You're only a couple of years older than me so I refuse to consider you old.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Fran!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Fran! I love your "man math"! And, um, you're not old because I'm 43 and quite young, thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm looking at my husband's gaming collection right now with those pictures of 40K and space marines up there.
Glad you guys had fun.
Happy Birthday (and don't you look thrilled!)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun con!
My big regret of the day was not getting the rejects to sit down and roll some dice. I would have liked that. Still maybe another time.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY B DAY MATE. Hope you got something you deserved. Ray should have bought Lunch for a start....The (Insert expletive of choice!)
Dude, happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday from a fellow 16 year old ;).
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Smile?!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday oh angry one.
ReplyDeleteHi Fran,
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday old chap! Well to be more accurate happy birthday 'not as old as I will be this coming Friday' old chap!
Looked like a good day and really sorry I missed it.
I hope the birthday tea was good and that Ray made sure he blew your candles out (with no double entendre intended....;-)
All the best,
DC
Happy Birthday and Many Angry Returns. (Things only get more annoying (and saggy) as time passes but otherwise its a lark...)
ReplyDeleteCurt
happy birthday. good game but I am still glad that I live here in the nice bright sunshine.... its actually 6:12pm and the sun is going down and its overcast... still gotta walk the dog
ReplyDeleteand how is it that you and I are the same in "man years"? 4+4 x2 = 16... 1+7x2 = 16
DeleteHappy Birthday from a young person who is 45...
ReplyDeleteBest,
Phil.
Happy birthday sir. So really are the space marines your birthday present, or are you looking at the new chaos stuff?
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Mr. Lurker!
ReplyDeleteA somber post Fran, cheer up Fran, 44 ain't old its just a state of mind. Good looking show.
ReplyDeleteMany happy returns.
Belated happy birthday Fran - c'mon its not all that bad, I know Ray lost his mind and actually paid for Space Marines but look on the bright side - Ray bought Space Marines! Tell 'im he'd only be cool if its a biker squad - anything less is naff! Besides which, I'm bleedin' 18 in man years - wotcha got to grumble about? ;-)
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Doc
What better way to spend your Birthday, and thanks for the 'Man Years' conversion, will certainly be using that from now on!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Fran, Thanks for the pics!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, young'un! I'm 54 for chrissakes!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Fran.... Talking numbers, I'm 34... To complete the scale We just need a 64 and a 24 (the 24 years old will be killed istantly, of course... ;P )
ReplyDeleteBuon compleanno.....
Happy Birthday but given your 18 months younger than me you just get a hard stir
ReplyDeleteIan
Happy Birthday mate...as always it was good to see you and the guys. Looking forward to the game in a couple of weeks and SELWG the week after.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Mr L.
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy Birthday - Remember it's not the age but the mileage! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Fran! I just turned 44 myself on the 5th and feeling the years like you, I suppose I should eat better and work out, but...but...but...but.....
ReplyDeleteSo Ray just Space Marines .....oh dear(sadly shakes his head). I hope he the sense to buy them used and cheap and not retail where he would need to mortgage the house for a blister! If it makes him happy then good luck. I even play fantasy battle from time to time so who am I to criticize(although I quit buying GW figures years ago on principle).
Christopher
Happy belated B-Day greetings, General.
ReplyDeleteAll those pics are great.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday buddy!
Big congrats on your Birthday, Lurk!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday. I love the man math. But if you multiply by the number of testicles, does that make Lance Armstrong 5 years old in man years (41 so 4 +1 x his single testicle)?
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to a man that just taught me some killer man math! By your numbers, I'm 20, and I am absolutely okay with that.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Looks like you guys celebrated in grand style! Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Fran!
ReplyDeleteRegards
Bruno
Relax Fran you're still just a pup compared to me! Belated Happy Birthday.
ReplyDeleteWho'd've thought we had the same birthday? Wish I'd got to game on mine :(
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday yesterday to us, by the way.
