.....the "Feku", well I've been reading John Scalzi's "Old Man's War" and his names and descriptions of alien races and their names inspired me. Good book by the way, well these guys are meat eaters and mercenaries and the bane of star systems and colonies throughout the galaxy...and blue!
I've still no idea why I decided on blue.........but I think it works?
The war leader showing his dominant red colour as top dog alien.
Damn good book........
Wicked! I think the blue is perfect.
ReplyDeleteWow those are cool and yeah the blue works great.
ReplyDeleteNice paint job on those.
ReplyDeleteCool blue Angry...thanks for the recommendation on the book too!
ReplyDeleteThese freaking alien creatures are freaking me out. And now they're equipped with weaponry. What's next? Domination over the Earth?
ReplyDeleteBtw, nice job on painting the miniatures, as always. but seriously, the little aliens look alive and ready to take over. Geez!
I haven't read the book, but hard not to like Space Lizards!
ReplyDeleteThe blue works nicely, just maybe have the backpack and straps brown to maych the boots?
the blue certainly work Fran :)
ReplyDeleteThe "Old Mans War" series is certainly a good read, but you might need to paint up some human troops with green skin :)
I think green armour will be the nearest I get to it!
DeleteThey look amazing! Blue is perfect!
ReplyDeleteVery nice blue alien lizards! I've heard other good recommendations on the book in addition to yours so I need to pay attention to you folks and get it!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
"We eat well tonight my big blue-fiends; unless General Fran locates us and feeds us to the Chizards. Slither silently my comrades! Remember...it's better to loose one's tail, than to be shredded and pecked apart by the Mutant Bird."
ReplyDeleteNow that's good Jay, really good!
DeleteI bow to your wisdom, my General!
DeleteI think blue suits them fine. If they eat human flesh then yeah, we're really screwed. I've also never heard of that book. Being a sci-fi-fan I should probably check it out.
ReplyDeleteThe brushwork on these are excellent Fran! You've got the shading done well and the highlights come up perfectly. Hard as hell to do in a single color.
ReplyDeleteBlue is the national color of Ireland and therefor the best color to choose!
I like the blue, it looks really good.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if my hubby would like the book you recommended. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
Nice one François!!!
ReplyDeletethanks for the book recommendation. :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice, and they definitely work as blue! They look awesome as a force!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting wee beasties, I look forward to some battle reports, you must have enough now to have some games?
ReplyDeleteProbably enough to invade a small country by now!
DeleteThe good thing about these more fictional bunch is that they're that much more flexible to paint. They look badass blue!
ReplyDeletenice one Fran, aliens look better in blue, red, geen and black. never seen a fluro pink alien which is good because other wise it would have to be a story were man-lind destroys a stupid race of aliens that give him siezures... fluro pink does that to ya.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I look forward to an AAR as well.
ReplyDeleteLurker I don't know why I found myself drawn to the tan-brown boots... and they're not all wearing the same style. Impressive. I'll get the book and catch up with a review later, Lurker.
ReplyDeleteScary :)
ReplyDeleteWhat is this? - Reptile Navis? Pandora? They look like crocodiles to me and leader is a canine?
ReplyDeleteFranonia and Rayonia has plans to take over? migrate?
Anyway Happy bday Angry. Hope you had wonderful rocking bday. I saw your Pamela in dancing in the stars, she isnt bad afterall.
Looking good, the blue looks nice so it does, and I like how you've distinguished the war leader. Clearly after eating enough meat in one go, they turn red to show they're the boss.
ReplyDeleteHaven't read the book, but have heard of it. Might put it on the one to pick up list.
It does work. And thanks for the recommendation on the book.
ReplyDeleteThey look great will have to try and check out that book.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely painted, Fran.
ReplyDeleteNormally I hate aliens, but I like yours Fran.
ReplyDeleteLove these minis - great paint work too!
ReplyDeleteThe blue works, and I like the red leader as well as the alpha dog. Scalzi's books are great, you'll definitely want to follow up after Old Man's War with the Ghost Brigades and more.
ReplyDeleteLovely friends you have there Fran.
ReplyDeleteOnce again... they would do great chess figures
ReplyDeleteNice looking blue lizardmen!
ReplyDeleteoh, my, those lizards are uber scary!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of this book or author, I'll keep an eye out. And those lizards look like blue Kleggs.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the heck out of Old Man's War.
ReplyDeleteI love that you made them blue!
ReplyDeleteLoving the colour on these Fran, great job Sir.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Fran. Like a lot the blue colour, and the models too!
ReplyDeleteThe book is very good.
I love blue colour....
ReplyDeleteI have a problem with authority, so I can't like their leader... :p And he is painted in red on top of that..
All in all, lovely all (forgive me for molesting your language, but it rimes) :-D
I really like the work you did on these here.. more so cause of the scale of them! Am going to have to break down, and buy some, and see if I can get this good at this scale! Inspirational!
ReplyDeleteI love these figures. Nice call, the blue rocks!
ReplyDeleteBlue is good, and really like the red sarge.
ReplyDeleteThere is a caste systems, or the skin were painted?
Sometimes I get the feeling that you and Ray, have two cans of paint. Ray the can with the red paint and you the one with blue paint! Don't know why I got this feeling??? :-D
ReplyDeleteExcellent painted minis Fran!
Greetings
Peter
