An example of Shinybloodyitis, 350,000+ hits and I'm away for a while.......

.......on holiday for 10 days, going nowhere but I need a break from Ray, his habits are disgusting!

I've done a guest post (my first) for Mel over at !No,really, you can eat it! and she should post it soon (next Monday or Tuesday I believe), I have been asked before but I don't believe I have anything worth saying, her request was for something chef related back in my wilder days!

I will hopefully be doing a little give away on the 23rd of July (my blogs 2nd birthday) with a unique little item I hope........

Thanks very much for the reading, visiting and the commenting over the last 23 months.........

......and now for the example.

Lovely piece of kit (paint brush holder) that I bought at Salute from Oshiro Terrain, my only gripe would be that all the holes should be slightly bigger!

With brushes inserted.......

....this has been my brush staple for several years and quite functional, bonus points if you can name the TV series on the mug!

So why did I buy the shiny thing, was it that I had been in the Salute queue for quite a while (35 minutes), was it because my money was burning a hole in my pocket, was it because it was my 17th or so stand to browse and buy nothing or was it Shinybloodyitis!!!!!!

I give up and I'll see you in ten, probably try to drop by and read a few blogs though, it'll depend on the SWMBO and her nefarious plans to fill my time!

Early War Miniatures Explosion Markers, good for 15mm or 20mm.

Some of the loot I picked up at Broadside, it's 20mm but good for 15mm and comes painted from Early War Miniatures, their table was right next to our display game, threw a few 15mm figures in for scale......

Me and Ray are now knocking back energy drinks and shooting the shit, we're fecking tired and cranky......

Angry Lurker Honest Movie Review 77: Quarantine 2 ( 3 STARS).

The sequel to Quarantine which was a remake of REC but not a remake of REC 2!

A plane is taken over by a mysterious virus and when the plane lands it is placed under quarantine. Now the passengers must band together to survive the quarantine and the virus!

I don't know whether this is much of a sequel as it does use the virus story and the apartment link to the first movie but little else...except for the fast zombies!
I don't want to give much away but it's more like a B movie but an okay B movie, it had a small budget but they've done well with it , REC 2 which is the Spanish sequel version would have been a better idea to remake but you can't have everything.

There's no one I really knew in the cast but the virus spreads quickly from one passenger to the next quickly and ruthlessly, you get to meet the passengers and crew and pick your favourites and who will get it first, the initial build up is slow but when things start to go wrong things get very quick and bloody, the effects aren't too bad, neither is the acting and while it just scrapes the 3 STARS (guide at the bottom of page) it will pass an evening and a bucket of popcorn quite easily.

15mm Painted Khurasan Miniatures Zombies.

15mm modern zombies from Khurasan Miniatures, lovely figures and 20 unique sculpts as well and not too hard to paint either, good and bloody........

Ray has finally turned up for work as well, nights just got worse!

15mm or HO Scale Modern Vending Machines.

I like scenery and nearly as much as the models I paint, these were listed as HO scale (1:87) but I think they work fine for 15mm (1:100) and ten in a pack.

A little rough but nice all the same and I've include a couple of scale pictures....

Here's a link to the vendor

Back on nights, no Ray though which is a blessing as he's still on annual leave.

The 15mm Walking Dead (NOT) set from Khurasan Miniatures, lovely set of minis with many uses!

15mm Painted Scientists from Khurasan Miniatures.....

.....but what are they running from?

Maybe that's Sheldon on the left from my favourite comedy show The Big Bang Theory.

Set of 4 15mm fleeing scientist miniatures from Khurasan, nice sculpts, a little too much flash on one of their faces but maybe that's why he's fleeing?

Pictures could be better but as I said nice sculpts and there's not a lot of 15mm scientist figures out there!

Didn't flee well enough!

His best side!

The pretty one......

Broadside 2012 Show Report and Pictures...

...maybe not very good pictures but joint second place for our demo game!

Up at 0500hrs to meet up with the rest of the rejects and pack up everything for our WW1 Battle of Amiens 1918 demo game at Broadside 2012, we arrived at about 0710hrs and the venue was open, no sign of any show boys yet (we got asked a lot if we were because of our tops I think) so we set up the table and we're done by 0800hrs (doors open at 1000hrs!!!!). So we wander and harass chat to traders and other demo gamers as they arrive until the doors open at 1000hrs.

Took some pictures of our game and some of the other demo games, we had played this game the week before and I won that as well with some help from the other boys obviously, forgot loads and some names (apologies), spoke to other wargamers and we invited some to come play a game, met fellow bloggers, TamsinRobert Crook6milphilWhisperin' Al to name a few, spent a few quid (if you don't buy then shows will not happen.....BigLee!!!:D)

We got joint second place for our demo game due to our info, willingness to speak to people and enthusiasm........
The game was good but we there to talk to people, educate about the period and the battle, look for conscripts and promote the hobby, the show and the Rejected!

So here we go........

Assembly in progress.....

Ray...his best side!

Everything was pre-marked for a specific place on the board.....

The lesser spotted show organiser.....spotted!

What to do, what to do....everything is ready.

Shenanigans......

Ray the forager trying to get into a bag of rolls......

We played a couple of turns to get the ball rolling.......

They blow up too easily.........

We had good interest throughout the day...........

Nice WW2 game...

......air support...

...these were excellent card buildings!

The Alamo again, I love this game....

The boys from Maidstone 6mm WW2 game, it won best in show...

This contributed to the win, good information......

Clint from Anything but a One and his modern Afghan game and hand crafted boards, the man is a unique genius and a pleasure to talk to, he made the gun rack for the Aliens movie!!!!!!

The Battle of Benfleet, lovely guys, lovely stuff......

Franco Prussian Game from Real Time Wargames I believe....

"Romans go Home" from the boys at Shepway......

The main hall with a Reject for scale.........

These kids were well informed of the period and terrain.....

One of the Rejects was lured away by the gleam of a WH40K demo game......

A view of our hall and area......

My tank crosses the lines and would eventually win the game for us.......

The Rejected!
(well most of them anyway, the others were shopping I think, picture taken by Mr.Crook!)

Compared to last year and it's first year this year was busier, better attended by traders I believe and I believe has a good future, demo gaming is fun, hard, my back is fecking killing me, I never had to smile and monitor my language so fecking much in my life but I enjoyed it and well done to the boys and girls of Broadside 2012!

.....and of course the boys of Posties Rejects!
