28mm Painted Hydra Miniatures Warbots for Victorian SF, Steampunk, Pulp SF etc.........

......from their Retro Raygun range! The red light of doom comes for you!

28mm Pulp Science Fiction Miniatures from Hydra Miniatures, not bad sculpts at all, the arms were a little fiddly but with some bodging everything went together and if you use less angry bodging then you will probably get a better looking model.

These will be part of my Back of Beyond forces to provide heavy support with there laser eye of doom and cutting hands!

The 28mm Copplestone figure is to help show scale and size! They could be also used for other scales?

  1. They certainly do have a retro feel to them... and they're all the better for that. Nice one, Fran!

  5. The version with gun arms, I use it for VSF. It works for 15mm as a really big robot, for 25mm as a big robot, and for 6mm as a monstrous colossus of a manned vehicle.

Nice brush work on yours, by the by.

  10. Impressive machines ! like the size of those figs is not "scaled", I think that they could be good for all the scales!
(I imagine them near 6mm figures: it should be a great experimentation!

  12. Very retro, very cool-looking Fran! I can imagine them saying "Take me to your e-reader!" Ooooo.

I hope we can see a Sci-Fi AAR one day to see all these figures on the tabletop.

  14. Good grief, they look menacing and I'm very impressed with the "eye" detailing, subliming underdone. It would have been so much easier (and worse looking) to have had a very garish look to it.
I was even more impressed with the size of the damn thing too p and you got three of the buggers !

  20. I can relate to that point about less angry bodging. I had six figures go flying across the room to who knows where last night as I was snipping them apart, but was very calm, and in a couple minutes I found them all back, minimal fuss. It was an attitudinal choice, and it worked out right. They had even all landed in the same place.

  33. Can I simply just say what a comfort to find someone that genuinely knows what they are talking about over the internet.

You certainly realize how to bring an issue to light and
make it important. A lot more people ought to look at
this and understand this side of your story. I was
surprised you're not more popular since you certainly have the gift.
