15mm Sci-Fi Khurasan "Garn" or now known as.....

.....the "Feku", well I've been reading John Scalzi's "Old Man's War" and his names and descriptions of alien races and their names inspired me. Good book by the way, well these guys are meat eaters and mercenaries and the bane of star systems and colonies throughout the galaxy...and blue!

I've still no idea why I decided on blue.........but I think it works?

The war leader showing his dominant red colour as top dog alien.

Damn good book........

  4. These freaking alien creatures are freaking me out. And now they're equipped with weaponry. What's next? Domination over the Earth?

Btw, nice job on painting the miniatures, as always. but seriously, the little aliens look alive and ready to take over. Geez!

  6. the blue certainly work Fran :)

The "Old Mans War" series is certainly a good read, but you might need to paint up some human troops with green skin :)

  9. "We eat well tonight my big blue-fiends; unless General Fran locates us and feeds us to the Chizards. Slither silently my comrades! Remember...it's better to loose one's tail, than to be shredded and pecked apart by the Mutant Bird."

  10. I think blue suits them fine. If they eat human flesh then yeah, we're really screwed. I've also never heard of that book. Being a sci-fi-fan I should probably check it out.

  11. The brushwork on these are excellent Fran! You've got the shading done well and the highlights come up perfectly. Hard as hell to do in a single color.

Blue is the national color of Ireland and therefor the best color to choose!

  17. nice one Fran, aliens look better in blue, red, geen and black. never seen a fluro pink alien which is good because other wise it would have to be a story were man-lind destroys a stupid race of aliens that give him siezures... fluro pink does that to ya.

  19. Lurker I don't know why I found myself drawn to the tan-brown boots... and they're not all wearing the same style. Impressive. I'll get the book and catch up with a review later, Lurker.

  21. Looking good, the blue looks nice so it does, and I like how you've distinguished the war leader. Clearly after eating enough meat in one go, they turn red to show they're the boss.

Haven't read the book, but have heard of it. Might put it on the one to pick up list.
